I finally got outta my Asian Drama slump cuz this beautiful show. Initially I was a lil hesitant that again it might be a silly cliched Cdrama with female and male sidekick who have crush on ML and FL trying sabotage their relationship and parents who'd oppose their relation and what not. BUT this show proved me wrong which is one of the best part. Beautiful Heart-fluttering Chemistry, Good build up for Main Leads, No unnecessary dragging, No big fights or sobby drama cuz of misunderstandings, Nice Supporting Actors and a Beautiful OST!!
I can write an essay on their chemistry and the way ZL aka Zhizhi supported Jiaxu in every way and situation.
I will come back for this show for sure and would love to see more of ZL and CZY's future works.
Can someone recommend me more dramas like this?... Some of my fav dramas are Put Your Head on My Shoulder, A river runs through, My Lil Happiness, You're My Glory, Oath of Love et cetera. Cliched storyline would work to some extent as well but should have minimal toxic characters π
This articles is pretty interesting. Would like to my 2 cents as well. I began watching Kdramas perhaps around same time as yours. Maybe in late 2016 but I fell in love around begining 2018 when I first watched Goblin and was in this wonderful Kdrama for good 2 years I tried watching so many dramas of so many genres some of which were superhits yet overhyped while some flops yet underrated. I did go through a lot slumps and when almost everyone in the world started watching Kdramas, that is around the pandemic and lockdowns in early 2020, I left dramaland after putting "Itaewon Class" on hold at E14 later to continue in mid 2021 when I watched Vincenzo and again started watching Kdramas, watched and enjoyed a few like 25-21 (without it's stupid frustrating ending) and Business Proposal both which I watched while they were still on air but I went in my last slump lasting for almost a year cuz I stopped watching dramas when "My Liberation Notes" concluded it's run. Although I did give Alchemy of Souls a try but it's still there on E3 in my watchlist and I didn't watch Squid Game, Attorney Woo or some other popular dramas. I did watch Sweet Home but lost interest and ended up skipping "All of us are dead" and the likes.
Fun part is that previously when I used to be in slumps I used to get out of it eventually in a few weeks or months when some drama like Welcome to Waikiki or CLoY aired but later it wasn't possible.
After almost a year now I have started watching Crash Course in Romance and I might drop that as well. I too feel that Kdramas somewhere with all the global recognition and eyes lost its original charm. Even though am a male and generally males do not watch romcoms or melos (at least in India, my country). I did love that OG albeit cliched stereotypical Kdramas.
Break up may happen when one of them will know the "truth" or "half truth".
Exactly my point cuz they still have 6 Eps left and going by the pace that they've followed up until now, they will have a break-up in EP12 or 13 especially in when Gyehoon finds out about the Link of Dahyun with his sister's disappearance/murder.
I've dropped it at E10. Can't bear with the frustration of every episode coming back to square one. I mean what is the motive of writer here. What is he/she tryin to tell?
I just stuck with it cuz of the insane chemistry of our MC but nah not anymore even though they just started dating they're again on the verge of breaking up which I can't bear.
