Anyone know anything about a season 3? I’m hearing rumors on other sites…..
AFAIK what’s out now is the movie split into 2 movies. The True & False queen and Old Dream Rebirth. But would love it if there was S3. But maybe it will be next year?
As the clips in S2 and the movie was already shown in the ending of S1 so I was thinking they already shot all the episodes and just cut it into different seasons and movie.
I just saw on Dramacool that it has 4 episodes, and still it is not finished yet. Maybe another 2 more episodes…
S1: Weiwei goes into an online drama where she’s meant to die because Jingjing hates her because he’s threatened by her dad’s power. But they fall in love with each other and somehow meet IRL.
S2: Continuing ending of S1, Jingjing suddenly disappears and Weiwei searches for him and she’s happy to note that she finally got inside the story again. But she went into the wrong “script” so she ends up being the evil empress that Jingjing wanted to eliminate for the people. She remembers him at first and he doesn’t but every time she dies and he removes his love bracelet they restart the story and he gradually remembers everything. Even though they get rid of the evil Dowager and concubine Weiwei still dies so Jingjing does a noble sacrifice and becomes the “evil” general and he dies instead and Weiwei disappears.
True and False Queen Movie part 1: IRL Weiwei wakes up from her daydream as Jingjing announces that they should separate not giving reason why. In her anger she rewrites her novel where the heroine Ling WeiLuo is instead an ambitious empress who hates JingJing because he doesn’t love her. She somehow gets transported into the novel, sees Jingjing and berates him and then sees the book WeiLuo. To cover everything up, they (WeiLuo and Weiwei) pretend that Weiwei is the empress’ twin sister WeiLuo. In private Empress explains to Weiwei that Jingjing doesn’t love her anymore because she was different from the girl in his dreams who love Bobba Milk Tea. Weiwei explains that she’s the girl in the dream and she wrote everything she knows about Jingjing and gave it to the queen. Their plan was to reverse psych Jingjing into thinking that Empress was the one who’s feeding the info to Weiwei but in reality the Empress double crosses Weiwei and made it seem like she was trying to assassinate the Empress. Weiwei gets locked up with concubine Zhen. Meanwhile Jingjing doubts the empress as the girl in his dreams because she made the milk tea wrong and confronts Weiwei. They make a deal that to prove that she’s the girl in his dreams she must make him milk tea while he must let her stay with him for one month. She tries everything to make him remember but he’s still skeptical.
Old Dream Rebirth Movie part 2: Jingjing rejects the milk tea that Weiwei makes and orders the guards to take her away. Weiwei wails that even though she knows a lot of things about him that no one else knows, he chose to believe the Empress. He should then just kill her but he can do it after their promise to meet by the lake/pavilion. Weiwei brings the white blossoms but she got hit in the head and the Empress used the blossoms to dance and recreate the flower “memory” but Jingjing remembers that the flower is wrong. Weiwei then appears with the red rose that Jingjing previously gifted her in winter. Before they can be lovey dovey, the empress fake faints so Jingjing rushes to her. She says that she had memory loss and has been feeling sick lately because Jingjing doesn’t love her and he promises to not leave her. Weiwei is locked up again and assassins try to kill her but she escapes. Jingjing finally confirms the the Empress is not his girl because she doesn’t know that he never eats dim sum so he leaves the banquet and arrives in time to save Weiwei. Empress and General dad stages a coup and she wants to hold a ritual. Weiwei infiltrates the ritual while Jingjing defeat the rebels and General dad. When he arrives he sees Weiwei clutching her stabbed stomach but he cuts her down because he knows that it was the Empress who swapped clothes with Weiwei. As the empress dies, Weiwei also starts to disappear and she realizes that Jingjing wasn’t the only one at fault IRL because she ignored him and his feelings and only focused on her novel. Weiwei gets back in the real world with bottles of alcohol around her. She then looks at her novel and sees that after stabilizing his nation, book Jingjing waited for her for 56 yrs and on his wedding night he sees concubine Zhen under the veil, while IRL Jingjing sits at the bench with actress Zhen. Surprise! Book Weiwei suddenly appears in the book wedding chamber with the emperor while Weiwei runs to Jingjing after his shoot.

The QoA S2 is actually the sequel mini series of S1 with different plot than the movies. The True & False Queen and Old Dream Rebirth is just 1 story split into 2 movies but has a different “plot” than the S2 or S1. Short explanation on the plots below:
I’ve confirmed with my VIP membership in both the MGTV app and YT MangoTV channel that the two films (True & False Queen and Old Dream Rebirth) is just one whole story split into two films with different titles. It is also different from the actual “mini series” season 2 story.
No subs yet but what I did was play the video on my iPad and then used Google Translate live translation on the hard subs and somehow I made sense of the dialogue.

This is one of my gateway dramas that compelled me to get a membership to MGTV just to watch all episodes with subs. Never regretted it. I love that MGTV almost always has the short format costume dramas that I love.
Think about it this way, the Holocaust, what if some celebrity took a photo wearing a Swastika? Then he claimed…
Just so you know, the symbol for Swastika existed way before it was associated with the Nazi propaganda in 1930s. It’s been around since 10000BCE and is a holy symbol in Hindu and Buddhist religions. So your reasoning will not hold ground unless there is context that that person actually included in his swastika symbol post “hail hitler/nazi” text.
This is the problem with cancel culture because they keep putting meaning through association and not based on facts.
Whilst I do not condone ZZH's actions nor do I believe that he was unaware of the significance of some of the…
The C-industry is really different from the rest of the world. KW wasn’t persecuted as fast because he only “assaulted” select individuals, but ZZH’s “insulted” the Chinese sensibility and Government so he got cancelled so swiftly, his shows in WeTV already got pulled. Thankfully his shows are still in iQiyi. So sad what happened to his career. But it just proved that ZZH is not the smartest and most sensible C-actor out there. :(
He went to a FRIEND’s WEDDING at a “questionable” shrine and got photographed there. The Chinese groom already apologized to the people and guests that got implicated because of his decision to hold his wedding at that questionable location but Cnetz are bringing all this issues back now that ZZH is more popular.
This drama had the makings of a good drama with great chemistry and cute baby xiao bao but the producers just had to ruin everything by dragging the story to 24 episodes instead of 16! The OTP had great potential for skinship but maybe their TF is too high that the producers were milking the two stars for their star power so they had to drag the whole show and at the same time give as little skinship as possible.
This show was ok but it was like the shorter version of the A Girl Like Me where you’d actually doubt if the OTP will get together in the end. Agh! They had such good chemistry but stupid script.
7 or 6. It’s not as fluffy as Fantastic Mrs. Right, Eternal Love Rain, or the Eternal Love.
The ridiculous CGI cat just added to the bizarreness of the show which I liked. XD Comparing Fantastic Mrs. Right to I am a Pet at Dali Temple and Be My Cat, I think the weirdo looking cat in FMR actually made it more hilarious and and fits the "vibe" of the show. Added plus is that the two leads had more chemistry. In terms of story/chemistry I'd vote for: My Fantastic Mrs. Right > Be My Cat > I am a Pet at Dali Temple.
That Jing came out of the game after she got her happy ending. Like how you will log off a game after you’ve…
This is my theory and I’d like to believe this is the case. There’s also another drama like this Love & The Emperor but this has a better ending than that.
Perfect review of the drama. Just finished it and you couldn’t tell it was a low budget drama with the great cinematography and set and costume design. Love the chemistry between all the cast members. Wu Hao Ze is also the 2nd lead in Girlfriend and he does a great job in portraying the best friend of the male lead.
I agree with other fans that this is such an UNDERRATED drama of 2021! It has everything you need for a good Cdrama — fast paced and no draggy scenes, they kiss for real not like dead fishes smacking their lips, the story was simple but good, the villain reveal was better than expected, the side characters are adorable, and most of all both leads did not make any unforgivable noble idiot sacrifices! I hope more Cdramas get made like this.
Jing Hao’s previous drama Girlfriend has the same trajectory to be a good drama but there were a lot of draggy scenes because of the wishy washy character of Nuannuan/female lea.d
Jenny Zhang, Zhang Jiani, playing the role of Wu Huan. Ugh, these netizens are at it again.
Thanks for this. I looked at stills of Jenny Zhang in costume and she does look more fierce in the Yang Mi of TMOP vibe. But from the summary I think ZDY looks perfect for the part of amnesiac goddess who I’m thinking is supposed to look innocent but in reality she’s really powerful. Maybe ZDY does really have that nice looking face like Ju Jing Yi where you can’t imagine them looking stern or fierce.
I haven't watched this drama yet but can someone please point out who Zhang Dong Yue's MAID is? I've read in another blog that most C viewers have noted that the maid is more striking and looks more like a goddess than ZDY.
Just finished TEL 3 on WeTV VIP Philippines app and I must say, I love TEL 3 as much as I loved TEL 2! But TEL 1 is still my fave because I got hooked even with the low production values. The dilemma of this season is not as heavy as in TEL1 or 2 but it’s really unique because we’re finally exploring the depth of MLC and QXT love, which is more than skin deep. The story felt rushed specially ep 28-30. But it still left me that unique TEL feeing that I want to have another season of this OTP and team!
