Maybe Under the Power is your cup of tea? Not so much on the steamy scenes but I think the cases there are well done. And you have the FL who can do basic kung fu and is really smart.

@Le Chevalier Violet, have you tried Legend of Nokdu? It’s also one of the latest sageuks with great ratings! I think you should still watch under the power because even though the FL and ML are not your typical “flower” boy and girl, their acting and chemistry is great and the plot is really good. Just watch in 2x speed like what I did. Hahaha.

Also on the fence about watching Maiden Holmes because the FL is not my fave cutesy FL type like Zhao Lusi or Ju Jing Yi. But When I skipped to the last ep I appreciate the ML’s good looks. And with all the comments about the skinship between the ML and FL, I’m curious how they pulled it off when I couldn’t feel their chemistry in the normal scenes. How do their steamy scenes compare to my all time fave The Eternal Love scenes between Xing Zhao Lin and Liang Jie?

Watch all the shows with Xing Zhao Lin and Liang Jie (The Eternal Love S1, TEl S2, You Are My Destiny) and you get hot chemistry and great kiss/skinship. They had 100+ kiss on and behind the screen for just the S1. XD

I see a lot of banned chinese dramas with korean actors/actress. I’m wondering if the prod team can just sell all rights to non-Chinese media platform and that non-Chinese media platform releases the drama in the west?

I saw in a korean article this is supposed to be released on December 2021. Might be interesting. But I always ship Zhang Zhe Han with Ju Jing Yi ever since Legend of Yunxi.

Top of mind drama with super satisfying ending:
-The Eternal Love S1 & S2
-The Eternal Love of Dream
-Love Better than Immortality
-My Fastastic Mrs Right

When I watched how depressing or vague the ending for this show was, I just rewatch The Eternal Love with Xing Zhao Lin nd Liang Jie again and I’m happy again. Or the iQiyi drama My Fantastic Mrs. Right, short but super happy ending.

Just watch it at 2x speed and you will finish it. This has better romance and chemistry between Ju Jing Yi and Zhang Zhe Han compared to JJY latest drama In a Class of Her Own. Her chemistry with Song Wei Long’s character was so poor I was shipping her with everyone but SWL. Even the baddy student president had better chemistry with JJY’s character.

Yes it’s so boring it took me 1 month of procrastination to finish this drama. I even finished My Lord Herbalist faster than This drama.

Finally finished IACOHO after a month of procrastination and 2x watching speed. They almost followed the same format as Sungkyungkwan scandal but serious they dragged the whole story too long. SKK just had 20eps but this one had 36. So it came as no surprise that there were a lot of episodes in the middle that didn’t involve WenXi/WenBin or even Feng Chun. And the way they ended the drama was so haphazard it was like they suddenly realized they were supposed to have romance so they just connected the two with some awkward romantic scenes. This is a waste of the casts talents and looks

She botched the adaptation for renascence that made a lot of viewers hate the FL.

The Scriptwriter and production team is the culprit because of their faulty narrative and editing! If you read the novel summary, this is meant to be a revenge plot but the drama decided to start at the switch part which doesn’t give us enough reason to empathize with MoXin’s revenge Journey!

In the novel Mo Xin is supposed to be in prison and the emperor is a big villain framing Prince Su and conniving with MoXin’s sister, taking her child, and then MX gets poisoned. If they wrote the drama this way, we will be in the same frame of mind as MoXin. And Moxin was supposed to act like her younger sister being childish, effervescent, etc but bru when she got amnesia she was always childish/effervescent. We never saw her act like MX in her reserved/calculating way first. That is why some of us, like me, still prefer MW over MX because seriously when they were in their own bodies, the actress playing MX was too reserved/regal for me that I never saw her MX in the acting by the actress playing MW.

AGH! This is the same issue again with Love of a Thousand Years where Zhao Lusi originally is the face of an extra then the FL “uses” her face for the duration of the whole drama. The disconnect is that the way Zhao Lusi portrayed the princess FL is soooo far from the way the orig princess portrayed herself in the start.

This is what you get when you try to make a rom com out of what is supposed to be a makjang story. You mislead some viewers. The prod team should have learned how to write revenge drama script like the lines in the Chinese anime Revenge Phoenix.

We wanted a revenge, body swap ala 49 days (S.Korean drama) style but we instead got mangled story telling.

OMG! Seriously? It’s the older sis with ML? But in the ending I saw jiejie jumping off the cliff and saying she wants to save her sister now? T.T I also like Mo Wan and ML. I feel like it was MW but with the skills of MX that made ML fall in love. I’m just at ep 9 and spoiled ep 36. But I will just imagine MW is the end g

One of the prince’s ask the main lead to marry the prince’s own girl to save her from death. So the female lead’s heart got broken because she was expecting the ml to propose to her but ML asked for the hand of the other girl instead. Irritating. But apparent this is what happens in the original novel.

No love triangle. They tried but everyone got happy ending

I just saw a trailer with Seven and SWL and I never knew Song Wei Long could show so many varied emotions in one drama! The dramatic, sad, and even the passionate scenes were spot on. Looking at the trailers I want to curse On A Class of Her Own where they wasted SWL’s acting abilities making him look like a good looking mannequin/model. As usual even in just the trailer, Seven is doing a great job just like in Under the Power. Will add this to my watch list.

BTW - Why all the hate on the love story? It’s my first time seeing a lot of hate on the comments about the romantic scenes whereas in most dramas people are wanting for more? Is it similar to the Reply series dilemma where a lot of people are divided on their ship so they’re hating on the final OTP? Ex Bo Gum.

Yep saw that too and yes they definitely did not scrimp on skinship. But I don’t know. Alen Fang is truly good Looking but I just feel his roles are always too soft? Like he can never do macho roles? Coincidentally he is also in The Eternal Love 3 and might be Liang Jie and Xing Zhao Lin’s future son? Maybe. So excited to see TEL3.
