My mark of a good drama is when I'm busting to get through the day until I sit down with my dinner and watch the…
Usually if you're watching something light, details hardly matter to the big picture... so I hit the ff quite generously. If it is a serious crime/thriller where every little detail matters, and it starts becoming a tad dry... I'd drop the drama eventually because ff scenes are going to result in a very unconvincing finale reveal, and I'm not into torturing myself to sit through something boring.
I watch at least 3 episodes of Korean drama and 6 episodes of Chinese drama before I decide whether I want to…
If it is a super-hyped drama, and I know people with similar tastes to mine have vouched for it.... even if the said drama is super-slow till say the 10th or 12th episode.... I'd never drop it. If getting to that point is agonizing, I just skip forward to the point where the show picks up from :P
I am petrified of picking up a drama that I would eventually drop, because of the hours wasted behind it. I'd rather pick up stuff that has really chances of vibe-ing with my tastes and mood at a particular point of time (yes I am very selective in that way).....I have a few trusted reviewers/ bloggers whose opinions and critique I regard very highly. If you're like me, and consider 'potential-drop' dramas as a waste of time, invest a fraction of it on 'research' (wordpress/ youtube, etc) and be honest to your own tastes, preferences and deal-breakers! :) In a way, I'm scarier than the Dark-cult members. I drop shows *before* I even see a minute of it (because I know it won't work for me).. xD
Wow Akage Girl... This article brings back memories of how I made my journey (back) into dramaland! Netflix definitely has been a help! I had been MIA from here for about a decade, and have a massive list of dramas to back-watch, hehe... but that just means more of wonderful dramas! ^^ Dramaland had my heart with the oldies like Hana Kimi, Meteor Garden (the original), ISWAK, Goong, etc. So tropey, but that's what your heart desires at the peak of its adolescence! Fast forward 10 years, and a fateful visit to Forbidden Palace in 2019 had me quickly consume Yanxi Palace and TMOPB in quick succession. It was a rabbit-hole after that! :P Now, I watch offerings from China, Japan, Korea and Taiwan on the regular. Life is too short to have biases, might as well enjoy the choicest of stuff from all these places! I have come to recognize the strengths and flaws of each of them; and I love how each dramaland offers a variety of stuff to watch depending on your mood! :D And just like they say... SO much to watch, but SO little time! T_T
The other famous celebrity couples, some are still together some not. Most of these are considered A-listers along with the ones you mentioned Emmy :D Angelababy X Huang Xiaoming; Yang Mi X Hawick Lau; Zhang RuoYun X Tang Yixing; Mark Chao X Gao YuanYuan.. :)
I literally have the stupidest smile on my face while watching this?!! C-dramas have not made me feel this way for the longest of times.....Super rare indeed :P
Not enough people watched it internationally. Compared to it, Love Is Sweet had more viewership and I guess people have had enough of 'this kind of story'. But MLH was appreciated domestically more than LIS as the latter kinda screwed up its ending!
It started with a Kiss... the taiwanese adaptation of the Playful Kiss/ Itazura na Kiss series... The ML here looks like the love child of the ML(Joe Cheng) and Second ML (Jiro Wang) from ISWAK! >.<
Seriously, I just have to mention that they really toned down Daddi Tang’s looks in PYHOMS! Is it to make prople…
Haha, this is a typical thing all dramas do to second MLs so you have no trouble shipping the main leads/ otp together. Recently watched Miles Wei in Perfect and Casual. <3 They styled him so pathetically in CYLS where he was the sml where i thought he was kinda good-looking but also meh. THEN i saw him in PnC and ohmygod, and have been thirsting ever since! Styling makes all the difference, and that's how you know which is the sml and which is the first ml! :P
1. the mistaken identity of the book owner and childhood friend (so young vs jo hwa jin & nam dosan vs han jipyeong) 2. the mistaken identity of the author of the letters (so bong thought she was writing to one of the concubines, dalmi thought she was writing to 'nam dosan') 3. the birdhouse scene was trolled in mr. queen, where so bong ends up at the lake to meet the concubine at 'the spot', and sees cheoljong instead. she exclaims 'why is it you?', same as dalmi exclaims upon seeing hjp... 'team leader han, why is it you who's here?)... a slow bg music plays in both the scenes. 4. so bong mentions the line 'life is like a treadmill, once you stop running, you fall off'. that is exactly how hjp falls off his treadmill in the scene he watches nds win the ai coding competition and his outrageous 'MONAYYY' video. its quite a random analogy if you think of it. considering mr. queen is a comedy, four times is too much of a coincidence. these had to be pretty intentional, considering SU is a sister drama from the same network, airing on sat/sun just like mr. queen. they placed tongue-in cheek references very wisely...
Hehe, it was a tongue-in-cheek reference to Start-Up plot points.... kinda like a parody but also a homage cuz it wasn't condescending! I mean they even had a TB reference with 'Cha EunWoo' being Jo Hwa Jin's pen-name for writing Joseon fanfiction! xD
Jiang Zhi Shu... is that you? >.< On a lighter note, this is the drama that ISWAK *wishes* it was. Brings back such fond memories of seeing Joe in a labcoat, and Ariel in her pink uniform. Kinda doesn't help Shao Qing (the ML here) looks BOTH like Joe and Jiro from different angles??!!!!!!!!!!! <3
Honestly, 'My Little Happiness' is what ISWAK woulda been if Zhi Shu wasn't a condescending jerk, and Xiang Qin had never met Zhi Shu beyond Primary School, developed her own personality, grew a backbone over the years spent away from Zhi Shu, followed her dream career path, & ended up meeting him again in her late 20's because of Yuan-Fen (fate) Ugh. Thank you writers for this fresh take on such a tropey setup! I never knew I needed this! <3
I was all okay and satisfied with ending until I saw the 2nd episode of bamboo forest. Any (false) hopes for a…
Bwahahaha, just imagine they pull a 'clark-kent' on us, and apparently, CL Choi is actually BH's mother with a sporty bob who wears glasses, the royal chef is BH's dad but no longer has his moustache, Hong Yeon is his little sister with pink highlights, Simp-Brother and Director Hong are BH's buddies from military days, Poet Kim now works in Blue House's diplomat's office as a secretary and is BH's colleague, and BH himself has a case of face-blindness that magically gets cured after he comes back from Joseon, and now realizes these folks were there around him all along! <3 <3 Please tvn, makes this happen! T_T
She was still in her body only... Their souls merged... That's why she remembers everything and didn't felt out…
I think that's why when BH's spirit goes back to his vegetative body in 2021 in ep 7 i guess?.... So Young's body doesn't die meanwhile; she too is only in a coma with acupuncture needles poked in her...B/c So Young's soul is always there in its original body, in a dormant state!
