Takumi was so absorbed in self-love. The only thing he cared about remotely after himself was probably Trapnest. He was awfully entitled a**hole, and as much as I despised him, I LOVED his character. I too hope they don't change his character interpretation, because Komatsu *needed* to get out of her idol-haze to realize what he actually was, aka a monster.
Omygod, with the present crazy 'saesang fandom', NANA's themes are especially super-relevant today. I'm dying to see how they portray the dark side of it all. Hope they don't go about stepping on eggshells.

Well, as pissed as I am at the ending...if BH was a woman in the present day, MORE people woulda been mad at this ending, because even censorship wouldn't have stood in the way of what we deserved and were promised for 19.5 episodes.

I won't comment on Mr. Queen's ending, but the VERY moment SY returned after BH went back, you could immediately see how SHS's eyes and expressions soften towards the King! As BH, SHS's eyes are always angled upward on the outside with upturned brows. And this was in the moment where she can't convey the soul change through her body-acting (a person regardless of their gender would act the same, writhing after a gunshot). Usually actors excel either in facial or in body-acting. However, SHS might have carried out both with perfection. Imma be so mad if they don't give her the Daesang! T_T

The only way I could accept this ending, is if BH was SY's reincarnation in the present day and the whole 'change of sexual preference' aspect of it dealt as if it were an accidental case of a sex-reassignment. Then again, the topic itself is so sensitive, I don't think the humour would have gelled-well with this T_T

Her performance has blown out all those unconvincing 'cross-dressing trope' dramas. She sells the 'male soul in a female body' dressed in her beautiful silk hanboks MORE than any of those actresses pretending to be a boy, who couldn't even fool my grandma with her -7.5 thick eyeglasses. SHS's role required her to use her entire body, and I was solidly on team 'micro-expressions is the most nuanced acting' but she's totally changed my mind.
The only other performance I can think of 'woman as a convincing man' is Megan Lai from Bromance.... and SHS might have topped even that! ^^

More like SHS’s character got to be the endgame with the King because she’s the FL, and CJH’s character got tossed aside because he’s the guest star. Wth. This billing order thing needs to STOP. ‘First billed’ doesnt mean it’s okay for them to end up together, esp if it doesnt make script-sense. They did it with Start-Up too. This billing-order thing needs to stop.
Ps. I think SHS is a mindblowing actress, and she deserves a Daesang for this spectacular portrayal! I’m not a fan of CJH either, so i’ll not be entertaining accusations that I’m a SHS hater.

You should give TROTAR a try.. best time-travel drama ending. Best resolution of the OTP, the time-travel continuity And logic. They even solved the modern day timeline, how the travel affected the outcome of the original story, and how the OTP ended up liking each other when they were not intended to. Additionally, the humor and the show’s social commentary on gender-stereotypes in the society is JUST gold. If you’re familiar with c-drama industry, There are also plenty of insider jokes! They really did an amazing job with the ending (alrhough it has severe pacing issues)

The only way they could have sold So Young taking over in the end convincingly, to me, is to have the reincarnation theory play out... they were the same soul from different timelines all along. That's how I wouldn't have felt BH got cheated, and SY catfished the King. :/

Not only has Mr. Queen trolled Start-Up 4 times already, as commonly agreed upon by fellow MDL users, but I think they used the same child-actor for flashback scenes for both the MLs..... -_-

I read it was a different set of cast, but same format. They'll retain the crew and the creative team most likely. Hope the next set of cast is as brilliant as this one, and the story a tad better! :3
