This show is delivering and serving at the same time. An actual character/romantic development, with an unhurried pace, BL show that is awesome and interesting and well written. None of that 'sex first for some reason, then avoid each other and eventually get together after a ton of misunderstandings' vibe, or that equally tired story line of 'we met back when we were little kids and I've always liked you, never forgot you, been secretly pursuing you into our adulthood' creep vibe. There are plenty of overused tropes, but those annoy me the worst.
This is just about two people who didn't know each other, met each other but were not nonsensically enamored with each other and instead slowly have been building up to attraction, to knowing and liking each other and Jeng and Pat only started flirting in ep 6 and it's so subtle and I'M HERE FOR IT. It's working so well.
As for Jeng, the casting is perfect. An older guy who looks older and actually carries the right air of an older more mature person. Those smile lines are killer.
I also like that even though the eps are long, the story isn't boring (at least to me). They have friends, families, lives, past relationships and day to day sh*t that factors into the story without messing up the relationship development. Yeah, so, I'm waiting for ep 8 quite keenly.
PS: Just to reiterate, Jaab (Saint) is stunning. He has my focus in every scene he's in whether or not the focus is meant to be in him. idgaf. Give that man a Bells, and a main role.
Ngl, I'm enjoying this Thai BL more than I thought I would. I really like the whole cast, and Ae is a gem, she's like the closest any other Thai BL has come to making a character like Yihwa❤️ from Together with Me. Yet she's still quite different from Yihwa. And totally likeable. As for a BL pairings, all good so far imo, although I'm not sure how Jaab is a side character because he is, for lack of a better term, hot as all f*ck. Seriously, give that dude a main role.
Starting to get kinda bored with this. The main pair just aren't that interesting as characters. Perhaps the focus should have been on Thian since he actually has a personality.
I can't stand misunderstanding tropes 🙄 and so far this is one of the stupidest ones I've seen! I'm already…
Yep. I also hate the 'illogically running a long distance in a hurry to confess feelings' trope, and this episode had both. And then I had to watch the same trope in Bokura No Shokutaku too. Tropes are a VERY slippery slope.
These two eps were a BIG MOOD and I got mixed feelings for days. I like a lot about this show, especially Han Joon, but the biggest issue is, no matter how I look at it, I don't like Jo Yoo Jae. He is just sh*t. I don't even care than Han Joon likes him or how much he likes him, because nothing about JYJ is not an ugly red flag. And it doesn't matter why Yoo Jae is acting like a dick, his personality is his personality, and that is the problem. Even if Han Joon got what he wants, any relationship they have would realistically be drowning in 'be careful what you wish for' muddy waters.
Still, I liked the time skip. I wasn't expecting it, but I welcomed it. It gives some perspective to the fact that Han Joon can and would be totally fine and even grow and start to excel without his douche-bag 'best friend' being around him. Obviously this show is supposed to lead to them getting together, but for me, the pay off won't mean anything. I'll just keep watching to be entertained.
I'd be lying if I said I hope they end up together.
I guess, um...aaw. It's very nice, and stuff. Japanese BL's always lose me a bit with the running to each other desperately at the last minute to say some important feels things. The kind of trope that's very rarely gonna hit with impact. Over all, the peak of this episode was low altitude for me. One to go, this one'll wrap up easy. Not bad, but not good.
Hope this misstep of a 'misunderstanding/jealous trope is cleared up very quickly, if it lasts more than one episode (and even that will be pushing it) then this show is on it's way down.
Great follow up episode. I was a little worried it was going to be a 'Groundhog Day' sort of situation, which can be boring, but this is more of a 'Butterfly Effect' situation. This show does seem like it's going to be fun and interesting, and the pace it great, there's even a soft plot. It's also probably going to be mostly lighthearted. Although, if it gets a little angsty and dark like 'Butterfly Effect' it wouldn't be a bad thing, but it shouldn't get THAT dark obvs, even though time travel can be messy. 'Butterfly Effect' got really intense. I hope this show strikes a good balance.
We had such pairs before. Maybe it just got more popular with Semantic error I remember these at least 😅😅2…
Just my opinion, but the BL's, especially the Thai ones, have gone through phases. In the beginning they were pushing pretty hard with the two masculinity equal ML's, at least visually, because people were complaining about unfair representation of 'bottoms' or something. But now after so much time, they seem to realize that representation can come in many forms and physical size doesn't need to be the defining factor in masculinity or otherwise. This is just what I've observed over the years.

I feel like they're easing up though. For a while there, like around late 2021 and through 2022 they were laying the NC scenes on too thick with everything else being wishy washy, now there is still quite a bit of it and some still have really awkward scenes even just kissing, but SOME of them are trying to find a balance. Obvs not all of them are working xD trial and many errors.
As for Japanese BL, it's my least favourite, but ngl, I'm pretty invested in Zenra Meshi.
I think some thai dramas had height differences before. But no you are not alone. It's cute af!! Watching Kawi…
As they say; OLD but GOLD. I wasn't a baby though, so I guess I'm also kind of old 🤣🤣 Yeah, Brian was one for the books. Thank you Gale Harold for embodying that character. I look forward to seeing 'BL' get on the map in a bigger way one day.

I think it's about taste though, because imo the recent line up of BL's from Thailand, SK and Japan (with the exception of a few) are actually better than most of the old stuff.

I haven't watched any of those 🤣 but I know it's obviously happened here and there before, but in Thai and KBL's it's increasing, I think. Some differences are outstanding, like this one and Semantic Error, but some are more subtle. Still nice for a change of pace in Asian BL's 😁
I don't know if anyone has noticed, but since the popularity of Semantic Error, and even since Big Dragon, the height difference of ML's is starting to catch on more and more. Maybe I'm noticing because I've always appreciated a height difference xD is it just me?
I'm not sure if she's a demon or whatever, but I do think her anger came from some kind of desperation because she probably 'feeds' on wishes or some sh*t, it must be what keeps her going. I agree though, most people, Westerners in particular, would be like 'Man, no.'
