you should watch eclipse cause i think you'll love Ayan akk firsts acting is on point
Tx for the recc, but I don't think I'll watch that. I don't personally really like the actor who plays 'Ayan', I didn't like him in MLC or ToaTS either, so I won't make it, and besides that, it's based in high school. I always struggle to get through Thai high school BL's. Atm My Only 12% feels like a TASK.

Not a fan of Tay and New as a pairing. Can't say I'm keen, but I guess we'll see.

Did you want those two to get hit by a bus like Regina in Mean Girls? This show was going for realism and consistency.…
Just my opinion, but the show was realistic in the way JW didn't cut them off. He was depicted as being used to TH being an a-hole for how ever long he'd known him, and he was also depicted as showing EJ a lot of consideration and patience despite her being an outright lying, trifling trash bag. His character seemed to be surrounded by those types of people (his parents included) and so he 'settled' for them. JH was the new edition, the positive edition, but it would take more for him to fully cut TH and EJ out of his life.

In reality, EJ was portrayed as self entitled, shallow and fickle, which perfectly fit her reaction at the end. In a continuation, she would probably be the one to start acting like JW was a waste of a her time. Her not caring much afterward was not redemption, it was showing the extent of her fickleness. She'd wanted JW back because she'd had him before and didn't want to lose face by being dumped, then she learned she was blatantly caught. She dropped some crocodile tears as a token protest, but he wouldn't forgive her. Then she acts aloof. Typical of her personality type, she'll go forward and make it seem like it was JW's loss, probably distance herself from him.

TH is the type of trash friend who will push boundaries as far as he can until something breaks. JW hasn't broken yet, his depression and medication probably accounts for his lack of any major reaction to their gross personalities.

But issues with friends, exes and family are not so simply over with or done for, for the majority of people, for JW to walk away with a whole new lease on life and no baggage when he has so much shit to contend with, that would have been unrealistic imo. It really was a good depiction of exactly how some people struggle to shake off shitty people, whether it's because they blame themselves, or just accept that those people have been around for too long. Ick. But life.

BRO, this bothers me no matter what I watch and I see because, like, don't encourage that shit, it's not normal, close the damn taps! I still get angst flashbacks when I think about the fact that 'Michael Bryce' never turned off the damn shower before running out of his apartment in The Hitman's Bodyguard. I wanted to STRANGLE him.

Ep1:
Club Bathroom Scene
Intense, vaguely threatening consent conversation is happening between MLs.
Me: Close the motherf*cking tap! It'll take literally one second god dam-

Next scene:
Getting naked and starting some S&M shit.
Me: ...did they close the tap????

Next Scene:
BATHTUB TAP IS DRIPPING FAST

I'm gonna go ahead and wait until this has aired completely and the verdict is in. The trailer doesn't appeal to me personally.

I SAY, good show! This show actually had a plot, and it was even an interesting one! This is the first BL series…
I would actually have given it 10/10 to be honest, but the last episode knocked off a few points for me because of the inconsistency of Black's character. He seemed to struggle with fighting Todd, even the second time when he wasn't drugged, but then he made his way through the hospital like Steven Seagal. I mean, the guy probably doesn't weigh much and he has a small build, minimal muscle definition even, but he took down 3 armed policemen, one of which was twice his size. I'm not saying it can't be done, but it certainly wouldn't be THAT easy.

Also, the reactions after they were pulled out of the back of the van, tied up and with hoods over their heads felt a bit like the Danny Devito meme, you know? 'Crowd: Saves some college students who were going to be executed. One minute later; So anyway...'
haha.

But really. It was good, I enjoyed this show. I didn't even mind the unrealistic jumps they made a few times.

I SAY, good show! This show actually had a plot, and it was even an interesting one! This is the first BL series I've watched with a whole-ass serious plot that actually finished with a nice, complete feeling conclusion. Also, the acting was nice in this, and the pairings were all great, the characters too, nicely fleshed out, relevant to the story, no one obnoxious, not even the female characters were dislikable.

I definitely like the guy who played Sean, and I was also glad to see the actor who played Yok in this, because in Moonlight Chicken he felt cringey and the character didn't suit him, while in this he was great.

As expected, it did not disappoint. Previously Semantic Error was my fave KBL, buuuuut not anymore. 8th Sense really went there and touched on all that real world mess that people cause and have to live with and deal with. And it was so SATISFYING in the end. Not flowery or perfect by a long shot, just satisfying like you KNOW they're gonna' try and make it work.

I had to review it. Added it to my top M/M pairing faves too. Bravo.

I'm keen to watch it. The trailer seems to be about test pilots, so that's already quite interesting because we don't see too many films showing that side of things.

It's funny how these 'bad boys' in Thai BL's are so scholarly. They be like 'let's do something illegal, grrr, we're so bad with our fake number plates, BUT we must make sure we attend our university classes and pass the quizes, guys, no slacking, don't forget to study'

I've decided to drop this without watching the latest ep. The show just feels a little too pointless and simple for me personally.

1. What was that beginning scene of Ep. 8? It started out as a great nod to Hedwig and the angry inch, with the…
1. If I have to guess, I would say it's meant to highlight the lack of acceptance and understanding of people. Someone else here said 'it's because he was dressed in drag' and I think that's close to exactly why JH and AR behaved that way. I think it might be meant to show us that even though JH and AR are gay and supportive respectively, they still take the piss about someone wearing drag for a presentation. The relevance may be because I think the show is vaguely touching on the state of actual LGBTQ+ acceptance in SK as well as the double standards many people have.

In SKAM, there was that pivotal friend there to set the ML straight in each show, when their external and internalized homophobia and fear made an appearance, but in South Korea, very different from Europe, it might not be realistic that there would be someone like that around to say 'listen here you little shit' XD so they're showing that same kind of fear/double standard/prejudice in a different way.

2. I also think this was meant to highlight the callousness of people. The students saying JH was dead was just an a-hole and/or purposely insensitive thing to do because they are trash people, especially when it was early on and JH was still in the ICU and he'd fractured his neck which is a very dangerous injury and is often fatal or leads to paralysis. In the same scene, they also showed how AR, who'd seemed so shallow before, stood up and spoke out, while Bit Na remained silent when faced with peer pressure and then later acted like she hadn't been afraid of confrontation, and how Yoon Won tried to be neutral, and of course, we saw more of what trash people TH and EJ are.

They did the same thing with JP, who seemed like such vapid fool, but when it came down to it, even though he has no filter, seems a bit stupid and doesn't understand boundaries, he turned out to actually be a good friend to JH when it counted.

Those seemingly irrelevant or misleading moments in the show came across to me like brief glimpses of the different and also the uglier sides of the human condition. This show actually does a lot of that really subtly. It's so good.
This is just my perspective and what I took away from those scenes.
