Title Bad Buddy
I have been doing so since the morning lol. That druken face off between Pat and Pran, I cant seem to get it off…
Yes, you're right. The tension had been building up for quite sometime now. Pat had until now brushed aside Pran's indifference towards him as he wanted to be close. But having seen how Pran treats Wai so very differently from him,and Wai getting to do all the things he wanted with him out in the open , when he had just realised his feelings is what served as the final blow. I cannot put into words how much I appreciate that scene. Pat doesn't want to hold back anymore, Wai or parents or whosoever it might be. Jealousy, anger, disappointment longing all showed up on his face. He has had it enough playing games

Honestly, I think now they can tell how important is each one to each other. The kiss practically proved that…
True that. That might be the reason for the bet. Yes let's wait and see how the story unfolds. As for now, using your hypothesis, we might be able to guess what'll happen in episode 6. I dont want this show to end 😢. I'm badly obsessed with it. I felt a ton of emotions yesterday.

8.6 hurrrahhh!!!!!. Just make the popularity index reach 100 instead of 206 then I'll be jumping up and down with excitement. I bet those who were complaining about the drama being not mature enough or cliche plots have nothing to complain about now.

Drunken Square off between Pat Pran and Wai as described by a user on Tumblr

Pat wanted Pran to immediately get he wasn't okay and very overwhelmed without having tell him, because if he did that he would feel like Pran cared about him. Enough to not feel insignificant around Wai.

It's not entirely fair, because Pran's too much of an over thinker to always get what you're feeling right, and without communication there's no way to be sure what is going through someone's mind.

But Pat's feelings , "I just want to feel wanted" is understandable, given that Pran's favorite things to say are as followed: "Things don't end well whenever I'm close to you" or "just stay away from me".

He can feel differently when it's just him and Pran, but with the amount of times Pran is cold to him when they're alone and how he always keeps up the act to a T around everyone else, it is not hard to understand why Pat isn't so secure who or how important he is to Pran.

Because most of his insecurities stem from Pran himself.

But Pat is constantly taking hits to his self esteem because Pran's needs to protect himself no matter how hurtful he's being. (It's how he keeps from being hurt again)

Pran's indifference towards Pat, although often brushed off jokingly by Pat himself, makes him feel insignificant.
So Pran's treatment + Pat seeing how good is to his friends or the people he cares about. Intrusive thoughts = Pat's Insecurities.

Pat doesn't do well with feeling unwanted, especially by Pran. Pat is always the one who caves between him and Pran. So instead of handling it like he would've if he was alone with Pran, he snapped. Pat felt betrayed, he was kicked when he was already down, so he didn't hold his tongue.

He made Pran squirm. He was being a condescending douche. We all know why their friends can't know, and he'll probably feel bad) when he's cooled down some. But he tried to call Pran out anyway, to knock both him and Wai down a peg. He wanted Pran to feel bad, and he wanted Wai to feel like he often does in his relationship with Pran, insecure. (Because now Wai is questioning if his best friend is keeping things from him)

A few thoughts regarding the scene where Pran was desparately trying to keep their relationship under the wraps infront of Wai (episode 5)

Pat at that moment reaches his limit. He is just so over the whole facade of enmity. Coupled with his jealousy of Wai and his realisation of his feelings, he hates that they have to hide. He despises the fact that they cant even talk normally to each other infront of Wai

"WHY CANT I BE?"

Why cant he be the one hanging out, drinking with pran? Why cant he be seen with him? Why do they have to hide everything about them together? He is just so upset at the reality that is their parents hate towards each other, their friends' rivalry, it means that he cannot hang out with the one he wants to the most.

That night must have been truly world-altering for pran. Because from what we know what we've seen, Pat has never acted like this never. he's a goofball and he's flirty and silly he likes to joke. He's cute but sincere and has heart of gold.

But that night he rocks up and he's just something that pran has never seen before. He's serious, he's angry, he's emotional, he's confrontational and challenging and he's pushing pran. He's being honest, he's admitting things, he's saying things that pat from yesterday would never say. There's not a joke in sight, it's just him and his raw emotions.

For Pran, who is caught completely off guard by this, he must have found it shocking and hard to comprehend. He knows how they're supposed to interact infront of others and pretend to be enemies but all of a sudden Pat isn't playing along. They both know how they have to act around other people and Pran is doing his part, and suddenly Pat isn't. He's not putting up the facade, he's not playing the game. He's tearing up the rule book and throwing it out the window. Pat's sincerity and honesty is being revealed to him in a way Pran has never seen before. Pran is someone who has never had to deal with his feelings beyond those thoughts that he pushes to the back of his mind. They exist only in his head and now Pat is in front of him, asking him, begging him to say them out loud, to make them real, to act on them.

Bad Buddy is a masterpiece. It's like a piece of art. No matter how much you appreciate the show, it wont be enough. Ohm was literally inhabiting Pat in this episode . Sometimes I was thinking whether I'm really seeing Ohm or I'm seeing the character Pat as is depicted in the novel.

Your analysis is brilliant as always. I completely
agree with the sequence of actions you've listed down. Makes a lot of sense. Why in the world would Pat overhear their conversation and try to figure out Pran's feelings using Ink as an excuse? I mean he never cares about anyone else (parents friends all alike) when it comes to matters concerning Pran. He is sure to confront Pran when the time comes.

Yeah no way, Pat talked about having crush on Pran to Korn. Had he really told Korn, Korn would have tried to reduce the animosity between the groups. Korn's actions are quite the contrary.

Completely agreed. Even during the rugby match I saw that few of Pran's friends were looking at Pat and Pran exchanging glances. ( when Pat went to Pran's side before the match) Episode 4 1:42

I guess its safe to assume that Pat hasn't figured out his feelings. At least the preview says so, when he asked Korn what it means to like someone. For a simple goofy person like Pat, to overhear the conversation and test Pran's feelings for him using Ink as an excuse , would be too far fetched according to me. Just doesn't add up. Pran can definitely come up with this sort of idea, but not Pat.

"I thought you said you liked someone in Architecture"
Some fans are speculating that Korn said this because he's noticed Pat's strange behavior towards Pran's group and thinks he may be holding back due to affection for someone. He wanted to see if Pat would slip.

Even in the rugby match Korn went against Pat's request to let him handle Pran. The fact that Korn distrusted Pat enough to notice him lagging and react that fast is a sign of something.
"What the hell has gotten into you Pat?"

Pran and Pat were the leaders of their groups who supposedly hate each other but are weirdly hesitant to fight-on a daily basis. It's obvious that their weird behavior didn't go unnoticed. To add to all that Pat also protected Pran from him right infront of his nose ..."I'm the only one who can hit him"

Wai, like Korn also may have picked up on something, which is evident in way he stood between Pat and Pran.

Yes surely. If we had been shown things from Pat's point of view ,then we would have seen a feisty Pran rejecting Pat's kind and sincere efforts/gestures. We must have been equally angry at Pran(How can he be this ungrateful). There is simply no competition between the two when it comes to fooling each other about their feelings.

Really, beats me. I guess Pat being an extrovert, didn't think much about the consequences of his actions. No wonder an introvert like Pran fell for him. It has always been this way. Introverts are always left lamenting
