And given the context, Pran's response too is a legitimate one . I'm trying hard not to doubt the preview of episode 5. But given the emotional roller-coaster we were all forced to aboard in episode 4 , I still feel a bit uneasy. That episode hit me like a bullet train leaving me an emotional wreck.

Yes, Pat is really a dense baby in need of validation from Pran. Pat has always been the one who tries to approach Pran no matter what the circumstances maybe. Many a time, Pran has left Pat for his friends( when the funds were not enough and Pat was telling him not to worry and look for a guitar) he retorted that his friends are not the ones getting transferred. Pat on the other hand has always been beside Pran in his difficult times. I guess more people will get him once the story gets narrated from Pat's point of view.

Tell me about it. I had a headache the entire day after watching the episode. I dont know, the last time I saw something this impactful. It was like I was the one who had got hurt. I too am looking forward to their reconciliation. How bout you? Did you also cry your eyes out?
Why Pat was equally heartbroken in the bedroom scene
Most of us must have sympathized with Pran in that scene. However, Pat in that scene was seemingly heartbroken too.
Pat had asked Pran, one of the most vulnerable questions imaginable "Would you have liked me?"
Its true that he was asking about how Ink would feel, but he did choose Pran to role play as his object of affection and got an "I hate you" in response. For him to immediately follow that up with what seemed like witty banter (but upon closer inspection, sounded like him convincing himself that he did "like himself" and that he did "have good traits"? That's a whole defense mechanism )
"We will see if you can find someone half as good as me"
Upon hearing Pran's response, it seemed like Pat just shut down. Given the things he has done for Pran there is visible confusion and sadness mixed with disappointment. His head being tilted down from the camera angle and away from the light at his back , created this very cold feeling for a guy so lively.
From the relentless flirting and bravado to hiding his distress, it is not hard to conclude that he grew up in a toxic/traditionally masculine household. He is undoubtedly wounded but it's the mask he wears on his face, that never falls off.
Last time, Pat may have known the look on the face of Pran's parents that he lost him, though maybe not for how long. In bedroom scene, the look on Pran's face and the back turning on him says he may have lost him once again and he doesn't even know what he did wrong this time. It must be so strange to be in his room, in his clothes and still be so far.

I post all these comments so that people get to know about the characters and the reasons that make them act in a specific way. After being barely able to sit through a lot of thai bls this is the least I can do for Bad buddy .You too can share your views here, makes the comments section much more interesting 😊

It turns out that, not only was Pat oblivious of Pran's feelings, but he was also oblivious of his own feelings for Pran. Pat's actions do not come off as a surprise when you consider the following reasons:
1) Pat was brought up in a heteronormative family where he had always been told to man up. So Pat during his teenage years went about doing things that upheld his masculinity , like fighting and flirting with girls. It is true that he did have a small crush on Ink, but that was short-lived. Her return after these few years piqued his interest and curiosity in her, and he mistook them for feelings of affection/love (because he doesn't even consider Pran as his love interest at this point in time).
The thing is he just hasn't come to terms with his feelings for Pran. That's because Pran is always close by and he never felt the need to figure out the reason why he unwittingly flirts with him. He has never even tried reconsidering his sexual orientation. A confused Pat fixating on Ink as a stand-in for all those feelings that he has been feeling for Pran
2) Pat and Pran's relationship is a complex and deceptive one. Their relationship blossomed beneath the guise of being competitive rivals. They had come up with a brilliant plan to deceive the people around as well as themselves. Why ?
Because it did away with the pain of having to explain as to why they were together. As for themselves, they did not owe each other a clear explanation (not to admit liking each other) as to why did they love spending so much time together.The guise of competing was enough for them.
It is ominous as to how the context of working at the bus stop was brought up time and again to justify them being together .
Ink:"You can just tell people we're discussing about the bus stop" Pat:"You can tell people we're talking about the bus stop"
As for Pat, he currently isn't being able to understand the implications of his own actions.
"Take these earphones. You can't say you lost because you don't have earphones" "I just like to see your face , when you lose" "You seem so happy when you get to compete against me"
Pat is clearly deceiving himself, since he considers himself as playfully competing against his life-long rival, nothing else. He has not confronted his feelings head on. (Wai please knock some sense into him). How ironic is it that he himself told Pran to be aware of the surroundings, but is unable to figure out the person who is closest to him.
3) Pat isn't aware of Pran's feelings. We may be aware since we get to see his actions behind closed doors, but Pat clearly isn't. Pran has often pushed him away labelling him as his bad luck and also has often pointed out how he didn't consider him as a friend. It is evident that Pran did this to keep his feelings at bay. But for a dense character like Pat , to pick up on the signs and comprehend that Pran is in love with him would be too much of a feat
