Finally episode 18 gave me some of the emotional rollercoaster ride that I want from a drama. The angst between Prince Chang and Prince Lanxi making my heart ache 😭, the schemes of Queen Baili and Feng Ju making my blood boil 😡, and the chemistry heating up more between HFX and BFX making me smile 🥰!

Feng Ju is smarter than he appears…ultimately I think he will take his own mother down 🤔

In the novel, Huang Chao proposed to BFX twice. But he cannot promise her that she will be his only wife so she rejected him. I haven’t finished the novel so I don’t know if HC ended up having multiple wives.

This is how I know if I really like a drama. If I can wait patiently for the next episodes then I’m not too into the drama. WRTW is good but it’s not keeping me on my toes.

Does anyone else think that it’s weird we never see Queen Baili’s maid? Just her body at times and usually her voice. A minor point but I couldn’t help but notice.

I really like how our ML is so devoted to the FL. He makes it so clear to the other ladies that he has no interest in them (Minister Feng and Ms Huan)

I think he was making a joke about her being from Sichuan so she is “hot” like Sichuan food is known for being spicy 😁

Ep 16 - it's great how the king of YongZhou (Prince Lanxi's father), is pretty smart at times. He saw through Queen Baili's ruse of pretending to be sick to get out of attending the birthday ceremony for Lanxi's mother.

I guess I prefer the way HaoDu looked at LeYan after he realized that he had feelings for her. The way he fought for her was so intense.
I also like the way HFX looks at BFX but he is more cool and calm. I guess I want to see more feelings other than just staring at her.
