I have that on my list :) Just waiting for this one to finish first!

Episode 1 was good, presenting a female lead who is smart, strong-willed, and capable. Yet, the drama has already set a tone that promises angst. The OST is great and perfectly complements the mood,

Title Adoring
What could possibly go wrong when you bring together talented actors and adorable pets in heartfelt stories? Absolutely nothing. This movie was a delight—uplifting in the sweetest way, the kind of watch that makes you both smile and shed a few tears, just enough to release everything you’ve been holding in. A simple, touching film that pulls at the heartstrings and leaves you feeling lighter.

Up to ep 18 and honestly this FL is one of the worst written ones. Even up to now, she thought she succeeded without anyone's help. She claimed to have protected herself well but it was clear that she would not have been so lucky if she didn't get help from the ML, and even the Princess...

Such a delusional FL and very very bad screenwriters. They want to convey the message that women don't have to rely on men, and those who do will never survive well. Yet, we have a FL who simply could not do anything without the ML's help. Very sad.

I am not sure why I am still watching...probably only because of the ML :D I feel so bad for him - being treated like he's not important when he is the only one who actually have done anything substantial.

Agree, the first part of this series was so compelling, the entire plot, the way it was shot, the amazing lead…
I actually have that on my "Plan to watch" list! I think I will get started on that then :) Thanks!

I agree about the clunkiness of the second part. I have not watched Tong Yao before but she does have a strong presence. I am just not sure about Yiyi, her character. Not as likable as Si Yun for sure so her character development will be interesting to follow.

Yes! Absolutely, Cheng Ao and Lin SiYun are the hero of those times. I am glad they have a good ending together…
I am hoping that they will bring them back later as a patriach and matriach of a long standing family :D It would be great to see how Cheng Lei would look as a older gentleman.

Ah, you are devilish but when you describe it that way, I have to admit I do enjoy watching them failing over and over again. Too bad this is a mini drama, and we didn't have a chance to see the General escape the Princess' clutches the first night.

I really enjoyed Princess Wei Young by the way. There was some suffering but the villains did suffer in the end!

She openly planning to make the ML her consort but for now, even her aunty the Empress does not approve because it is not appropriate. But the princess is spoiled and wilful and constantly making things difficult for the couple.

Haha - if you like this trope, then you will enjoy ep 13 to 16 at least. I am just waiting to see if ep 17 will finally see the end of this princess trope. To be honest, I am ok if there are third part schemers. What I cannot stand is a high and might royal issuing imperial edicts here and then just to get the lead to do what they want. 😂

I absolutely loved the first arc of the drama because it captured the complexities of human nature so well. It showed that life isn’t just black and white—people shaped by rough backgrounds are still portrayed as fundamentally good, guided by their conscience, while not all the wealthy are painted as greedy; some are genuine philanthropists with kind hearts. Of course, the story doesn’t shy away from showing the scums and the petty, more toxic personalities, the pathetic ones who silently suffer their fates either, which adds to its realism.

What touched me most was Cheng Ao—he truly embodies goodness, and his courtship of SiYun is handled with such smoothness, grace, and sincerity. His story with SiYun was beautifully written and whatever comes next will have an almost impossible act to follow.

Honestly, it feels almost unfair with Cheng Lei leading the first arc—his performance was so compelling and magnetic that he set the tone for the entire drama. He brought such depth and strength to his role that it’s hard to imagine anyone else living up to that standard.

Hey there, I am catching up finally and watched up to ep 6 and will finish the rest tomorrow. You might not remember…
Lol - totally agree with you about the kiss! CL can only do what he can and that was not much if the FL is not giving back...I cannot believe that their arc is done 😔
On Destiny of the General's Bride Sep 8, 2025
Up to ep 16 now and we are starting to see the big scheme coming together. Honestly the FL is lucky to have such a cooperative and smart ML. She keeps saying that he plays no part in her plans and yet, he’s always involved. In rescuing her or playing a helpful role.

Well up to ep 14, and now they introduced another trope which I also hate as much as the amnesia trope. I am going…
Yeah true revenge shows are really good where they don’t lose focus or become love brained. It’s all about the satisfaction of taking down the villains. I guess the screenwriters think they need to throw everything possible into the story to keep it interesting…major fail.

Hah - the princess was already a villain from the moment she stepped into picture. I totally hate that trope where a woman in power wants to abuse that power and force the ML to be with her. So annoying.

Ep 9 & 10 is wow…Mr Zeng is a man with principle! That Zeng politician is actually not so bad.Only one rant…about…
Hey there, I am catching up finally and watched up to ep 6 and will finish the rest tomorrow. You might not remember but I had said after the first two episodes that I didn’t want Cheng Lei’s and Jelly Lin’s characters get together. I take it back!!! After 6 episodes, I like both leads a lot and I absolutely ship them 😍

Not a bad ending overall, though nothing particularly stellar either. I did appreciate how the tech case wrapped up—quiet, balanced, and ultimately a win-win. Sometimes the most brilliant minds land on solutions that are understated rather than flashy. I also sided with the judge in the final case; it simply wouldn’t have been fair for one side to “have her cake and eat it too,” while the other remained miserable and trapped. Her words were very meaningful too!
Where the show fell short for me was the office politics arc, which felt more like a cop-out by the writers. The ending, too, seemed like lazy writing. After spending more than three-quarters of the episode and to me, the rest of the drama showing the ML’s lack of interest in the FL, the writers focused the last episode on the theme of love. Yet the story avoided giving real closure—probably out of fear of alienating viewers who wanted romance versus those who didn’t. Luckily, I didn’t care either way and instead found satisfaction in the far more meaningful closure between the mother and other daughter.
As a whole, it was a good watch thanks to the legal cases. The ML and the other cast turned in strong performances, while the FL’s acting left room for improvement. I even tried reframing her character—seeing her not as the sharp, competent professional that I wanted her to be, but rather as a flawed, very human figure. Even so, I couldn’t quite warm up to her. That said, I’d still recommend this show for its solid cases and thoughtful exploration of human nature.

The approach this series is taking with the hidden identity trope is one of the reasons I don't particularly care…
Well up to ep 14, and now they introduced another trope which I also hate as much as the amnesia trope. I am going to wait for a few more episodes to air hoping that this latest trope will end quickly. Now even 24 episodes seem too long. I just want the revenge to be completely fully and the ML to get his HE.
