I do not like her at all. I think she is arrogant and goes over the top in her reviews to gain attention. I stopped watching her after just a few of her reviews and after she gave a horrific, and to me, warped review of a drama I liked ( can’t remember which though). Just say what you like or don’t like, not constant bashing and ridiculousness. And, to make you, a subscriber, feel terrible is uncalled for. Obviously, as a YouTuber, she wants subscribers but she is alienating people and not very smart. People can say ‘ maybe you should have done this or that’ but the fact that she made you upset is reality to you. Ever read bad reviews of hotels? Hotels always respond with an apology or just state the facts, never ridicule. That’s the way to do it if you want more customers.

I think you are correct. Mum is overcompensating for the fact that she had abandoned her child to a torturous upbringing and is now focused on fixing her but she is making CSS feel terrible and CSS says to YY, she is not feeling motherly love Ams support even though her mother is around.

I think the father (Ling) he knows is not his biological father. And his aunt is his real mother. I believe his father and Huo family members were massacred by his so called father. I feel the same because you get to know the characters, their background, what makes them tick. Besides, CSS does not immediately fall for LBY. She is afraid of being controlled, told what to do, bullied. And LBY is so powerful and close to the emperor.

Great to know but I would watch the drama first then read the book. Many times, the surprise and interest is taken away from the drama when I read the book first. But think it will take a while to translate the novel. So it’ll be ok to read the first few chapters. So good to know I can read the translated novel after I finished watching the drama

The grandma and aunt also dislike (maybe hate is a better word] CSS’s mother. The great uncle Dong who was arrested also tells why. Grandma and aunt wanted a son to remain but CSS’s mum took the twin boy and left behind the daughter. I believe they were mean to her to get back at the mum also. Maybe mum also prefers boys. I am watching on Viki as well and it’s a ‘plus’ drama meaning we pay extra to watch. They are up to ep 12 since a few days ago. Episode 13 & 14 will show tomorrow. Based on the calendar at the top, ep 13 &14 will be released globally tomorrow as well. I don’t know if other platforms will release more episodes earlier. Maybe the VVIP members on other platforms can advise. I watched ep 11 Saturday night on Viki with no Eng subs but by Sunday morning, the subs appeared for both ep 11&12. So I think they may release the episodes live but they maybe a day or 2 behind on the translation. Comes a point when one can have too many subscriptions.

I first noticed her in ‘Untouchable Lovers’. The character she played was so unpleasant there but you can see she is such a good actress. She has just gotten better and better.

I know the mum is a good person and cares for her daughter but I cannot like her. NiaoNiao had already expressed why she is speaking up when she encounters what she thought was injustice. Mother is trying to change daughter too fast - for example no sleep or food until she finished studying. This despite knowing her daughter had been starved over the years. That’s just cruel to use food that way. Very poor judgement and decision making on mum’s part. Since she commands an army, she should have good management and people skills. Others close to her had already told her she was out of line - NiaoNaio’s father, third aunt, CQ, her sons. She just want to do what she wants to do. Mother continues to show blatant favoritism to YY while knowing she neglected NiaoNiao all her life. The least she could do was to really treat both alike. Since NiaoNaio is so smart and eager to please, reasoning and advice from mum would have helped her. That said, hindsight is 20/20 :) :) and parenting is not easy when you have a very independent and strong willed daughter, but you’d think as a strong willed woman herself, she’d appreciate that in her daughter. The best thing mum did was to send NiaoNaio away with third uncle and aunt. This gives both a breather and gives NiaoNaio a chance to receive the kindness she needs from third aunt.
