Granted, SY may have propelled her career but I feel given her smarts and guts, she would be successful even if she did not meet him. It was a given SY wanted her to interview him but didn’t have the time and her magazine had a deadline to meet so they went round and round re the interview. I also recall the incident where SY took her to the horse ranch for the first time. She was appalled he just dropped her at the gate and expected her to get a ride home. So she weaselled her way in to meeting Father Guan who was charmed by her. SY did not like that at all and gave her a punishing ride. Father Guan gave her an open invitation to drop by anytime she wants. He remembers her currency war article also and arranged to be interviewed by her. SY didn’t even want to give her a replacement invitation ( her awful Xu colleague shredded it on purpose)/to the chips conference which was important to her.

And when they broke up, she willingly gave up her collaborative project with SY in order to save it

No love triangle. Female protagonist is pretty and talented. men are attracted to her and one pursues her even though she told him no

Well said. I agree with you. However, alot of people think she cared just about work because she brought up work. My take is, he is so angry about being used for revenge, an apology just won’t work. It will take time for him to calm down before he can be rational. I’ve been there before- so angry I can’t be reasoned with for a while. Meanwhile life goes on….

You said it, I didn’t about being a victim. So he just continues to make her suffer; yet don’t want to break up with her. What’s this continuing to block her, but don’t want to end it, wants an apology but make it difficult for her to do so. Is their relationship a secret? They are seen holding hands in public, Shi Yan’s staff gossips abou her eating and sleeping in his office, her boss and Colleague Xu knows about it. People speculate about it. There is such a thing as not officially announcing it vs secret relationship

Ya, some are so upset with the FL that you’d think she was the worst woman possible. For them, I hope the two breaks up because in their eyes, she has no redeeming qualities and she is not allowed to be human. And he is too good for her. LOL. Maybe he should get back with his ex. I think she didn’t want to disclose their relationship until it was more stable. a working girl to reveal dating a rich and powerful man has certain repercussions. In the workplace, if a woman is successful, there is gossip that she slept her way to the top and her colleague Xu assumes so. Also, Ecleticjello in her analysis of the why Shi Yan chose Shuyi also correctly stated that she will be inundated with all kinds of requests for favors. So while some think the worse of her for not revealing her relationship with Shi Yan, I think it was the right thing for her to do. They have not even met the parents yet.

I totally agree with you. At this point, it’s useless to say who did what and therefore, she needs to do this and that. They just need to talk and communicate. It’s an impasse until something happens. Blocking a person says something loud and clear to me - I don’t want to talk to you. Isn’t that what it means? Enough is enough on this ‘punishment’. I think I saw a Chinese trailer where she ended up blocking him giving him a taste of his own medicine.
