I know because this is kdramaland and we love our leads we can't help but be annoyed at the exes and be mad at them (with good reason too, in this case she is crossing a lot of boundaries and being extremely rude) but I'm going to play the devil's advocate here, because unlike other kdramas where the ex girlfriend appears and is only a nuisance, we actually get to see things from her POV in this one.
To recap: she dated Tae-hee for TEN YEARS, and they seemed to be in a very loving, happy relationship. So happy in fact, that Tae-hee was planning to ask her to marry him. Now, we know that her mom is the spawn of Satan, and we also know from that one time when she tried to get Tae-hee to listen to her vent about her mom, that he was a very important pillar for her when it came to dealing with having a mother who is as insufferable as that.
Now, there is a very big problem here, which was made very clear in today's episode: Tae-hee has NOT told her the true reason why he broke up with her. He has forced her to be stuck in a limbo of sorts, because he *himself* hasn't communicated his feelings with her properly and truly ended things. So she's stuck not truly knowing why he broke up with her, while also knowing there is something he's not telling her about the reason why he left her-- all while her feelings for him haven't changed at all. There has been no closure for her that allows her to move on, and even though I get annoyed at what she does, I have to say I can't fully condemn every single thing she does.
Then again, Tae-hee is traumatized, is guilt ridden and has absolutely not grieved properly, and clearly has HUGE trouble communicating. That being said, being hurt is not an excuse to hurt people freely.
Tae-hee, for the love of god, give your ex the closure she deserves.
Yes, I suppose once it airs we will see why exactly, but it seems that they have a very important scene that takes place during Halloween and it seems it would be reminiscing of the night of the tragedy, so they postponed the air date out of respect
So it looks like they made ML not have a stutter and instead he's just mute or shy?
I have a feeling his stutter becomes prominent when he talks to people he doesn't know/isn't comfortable with, so he opted for not talking to strangers at all. We'll see!
This kdrama is perfect I have never watched something so perfect it's a 10/10 they should actually start giving oscars to tv shows as well and this drama would TAKE THEM ALL it's perfect it has no flaws i have never loved a drama as much as this one!!!!!
No one says it's just the treatment in the work place lol It's everything about her character is episode one -…
Except for her mother's death, the bad things that happened to her all feed off of one another. The way she gets treated at her job messed with her self esteem, which in turn ended up messing up her relationship, and when you feel like shit about everything in your life you don't really feel like going out of your way to dress well. And yes, you can feel absolutely terrible about the circumstances you are currently in and then find a sense of peace when you free yourself from that situation, which is what happened in ep 1. I know it because I have experienced it myself. The anxiety, depression and intrusive thoughts being gone (for the time being, at least) because you were suddenly freed of what was making you feel horrible, even though it takes a few days to truly sink in, just like it did with her. It is also very likely her relationship with her boyfriend was also making her miserable but she clung to it because they'd been dating for 6 years, and when you're used to something it can be scary to change, even if it's no longer good for you.
Also, it's a stretch to say "she is happy now". I don't think she is "happy". She is just experiencing things she hasn't experienced in god knows how long because it's the first time she's been free, and the first time she allowed herself to feel these things. She is allowed to find a sense of happiness in that. You can feel happiness and find ways to distract yourself when you're depressed, especially if you literally leave your life behind and go to a different place where you don't need to care about what used to worry you.
I'm happy some of ya'll have never experienced/known someone who experienced the kind of treatment Yeo Reum got at her workplace, enough to make you believe it's too exaggerated just to get sympathy. It's not only not too exaggerated, you have to remember that she worked in Seoul, where they have insanely toxic workplace environments. It's the "be the doormat or leave, because there's 100 people behind you willing to be if you're not" mentality that keeps people working in these places, especially if they come from working class families and have nothing to fall back on if they lose their job.
On another note, Si Wan looks like an angel. I think I'll really enjoy this drama
I am a believer that a show should be rated based on what it is and not compared to other shows with high ratings that are are on a completely different level when it comes to production, and with that being said I think this drama deserves a very high rating. I am a sucker for "character in a story who knows they're a character in a story" and "heroine falls for the villain instead of the hero by accident" stories, and this drama mashed those two tropes beautifully. Definitely recommend!
I am really struggling to not be too sad about this being 4 episodes because there have been cases in which stories dragged for waaay too long just to fill out 12/16 episodes, and if the story can be told well in 4 eps I'll be happy. I think it's more like a super long movie than anything else
This girl must be adopted i guessHe is lawyers as per tag mentioned above. So that means the girl from of his…
? how did you arrive to that conclusion? He dropped out of being a lawyer because his mother died and she clearly was the one who took care of his daughter while he worked. He was completely alone and could not work as a lawyer anymore because he needed to care for his daughter full time. The reason why he works as a driver is because it gives him a flexible schedule, and that's probably the only job he can actually get that
I can't believe Meeting You isn't on this list! Not only it's a super sweet drama, but it has the huge benefit of not having a love triangle between the leads, and when another girl comes in and likes the male lead, it's handled super well without making her into a villain at all.
I'm not sure either are at fault, he left because he couldn't deal with losing a patient. I'm assuming the kid…
Not at fault for mourning in his own way, but at fault because from what we've been shown it was quite a traumatic breakup if you see it from her perspective. When I say "at fault" I mean he needs to take responisiblity for what he did. The fact that he didn't know how to act and the loss was too big does not mean he should've broken up with her the way he did. He mentioned they were trying to form a family too (she couldn't get pregnant maybe?) and the way he said it was so cold
Honestly, what you felt is right. It was almost platonic(with lil moments sometimes) till 14 episodes, and later…
Yeah I thought as much. I have seen them both in other dramas where they had good chemistry with their costars so I know what they should've looked like. This wasn't it
