Everyone has different perspectives when they watch a show. Everyone has different understandings, expectations, and concerns. What you feel is not how everyone feel else feels, similarly how i feel is not how everyone else feels.
Just like us humans, the writer is also a human. Don't we have the right to challenge the story if we want to? Of course we can. Just like how you are satsified with the character of everyone, i am and many others are not, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy a show. Every show has its flaws, every masterpiece as its negatives. It's just the divide of opinions and different viewpoints that make this drama quite interesting.
Seojun has always been a fascinating character to me (despite the writer giving him constant ups and downs for, in my opinion, useless) I especially loved his character development and how much he has improved. I think the writer did a fantastic job in this perspective. He is really selfless and actually gave up his ignorance to finally understand Suho and is humble with his romance to Jugyeong.
Its good you started with no expectation but half these viewers including me, have expectations. And that is thanks to a webtoon. Literally i believe this show would have never been this popular or have all this divide if it werent for the webtoon. So when coming in, we expected something, we expected the drama to give justice to certain things we did not get, we expected more growth and less of a love triangle, etc.

The love that Jugyeong brother brings is of comedic relief. It brings entertainment.
I have always expected a love triangle but not a love triangle like this that is so purposeless. Idk how long u have been in this chat but from the very start, this whole love triangle (for many of us, even the suho fans) was annoying. we were complaining about how boring and non entertaining it is. You probably found it entertaining but the only reason to me was because there were some comedic touches, besides that, seeing it objectively, two grown men fighting over a naive girl? nah. its just stupid to me. most of the people were invested in the friendship and growth of characters which i initially thought would be done too more than a love triangle.
and yes, the love triangle is also different from the webtoon. the webtoon had a love triangle but most of the time, they were not so immature about it. a third of the series, suho was gone, and seojun and suho never really fighted over her. Maybe some jealousy and insecurity (completely understandable) but to this point? lol no. It was funny though.
Adding onto that, So when u see the poster of the main leads, i think a lot of us were coming into it EXPECTING that Seojun and Suho both would get their rightful developement with one moving on. Since the webtoon did not fulfill that, and the drama was shooting differently, its natural to want characters to be different a little.
but since this drama is almost over, all i have to say is that seojun a nd soojin could have been done better. it seems messy to me. its a matter of preferance, u might think he served his purpose, i dont think he did.
he had so much value in the webtoon and actually did more than being a guy in a love triangle so i dont see how it can hurt to add a little more depth into him. maybe show how is willing to be a trainee? all im just saying is let the lead role actually make it look like it. u might think it is rightfully justified as them being the lead but for me, i expected more. people have different expectations.

Actually, run on is about only the female character and male character and they have most of the scenes in the drama but all of the four characters are portrayed well, not just as a mere bridge. not above them, which have added more beauty to the story.

Look, again, as i have said, no one is saying that Seojun is the main lead. No one is saying that Seojun has to be equally as important as the main leads. I know Suho is the main lead, and i appreciate him as well. I also think he and Jugyeong are for one another but is a little thing that Seojun deserves better by actually having his own thing of just moving on and focusing on his career so hard to understand?
