I once watched a Korean variety show where the standby singer for main roles in musical shows were the main chsracters. They could sing brilliantly. Act fantastically but the looks were just not main musical actor role. It was just not perfection.

As for myself even though I can watch I sometimes cannot unsee something once its pointed out. I haven't watched 2 of the dramas mentioned and happen to love the 3rd. However I'm now going to notice the background music and compare it with the speech. Where else I normally don't notice it and generally don't let BGM bothers me. However the costume comment is going to be pretty hard to ignore.

Goodness me I have been watching ep 1-15 the last day or so. I am a rom com viewer but I am having this shit- eating grin. This drama just gallops along like a pirate movie. Everyone's so keen for a fight. The CGI is not bad. They are right Su Muyu is so stiff I can't work out if he likes the doctor. However he and Changle are da bomb. The sidekicks who are literally stir crazy for a fight are a hoot. There are a serious number of good looking guys here. And actresses. I am actually going back to check their profiles and going to their other dramas.

I am not. I liked the story. This is the 2nd drama I've watched her in. I will avoid her in the future. I liked the story so I suffered through it because the other actors were better.
Who is Neo? I search through 15 names and couldn't find any Neo? You mean that Situ guy? He was fine. I meant the FL. Ming Xian was tortured during training. Suffered during her poisoning and yet each emotion in the abyss or the final battle had the same emotions. No depth, no fervency. Her eyes didn't have any strong emotions. Her fights looked like plain wire work. There were no effort. No impact on screen. Trust me I had 36 episodes of looking. I wanted to know the ending so I watched. Whoever played Zang Tai did their roles quite well.
Trite as anything. The actress is just serviceable. I don't think I will ever watch another show. She says the correct things. The expressions are ok but she just doesn’t have the omph. She is just like that in her other drama.
The male actor is not bad. The other supporting cast are so uniformly good looking I had difficulties telling the guys apart. Zang Tai is just gorgeous.
I spent quite a lot of time in ep 36 looking at the padded shoulder props for Ji Bozai. Its like the costume designer went nuts. Which warrior wears that? I couldn't work out if its gilt paint or actually cloth.
