Agree. I don't know the original novel characters, but I think main leads are like 陰陽(Yin & Yang). Their given sword were black and white. Personality are like chatty and quiet. You are one of the very rare novel readers who actually enjoying the drama and wrote very nicely. I noticed most novel readers constantly compare with book vs. drama, and complain. I know as face its hard to find drama and/or movie that surpasses original book. I found very few movies from even Hollywood that are equally as good as books.

I picture characters faces while reading it. Two good looking main leads and side characters! I wonder if there are BATHTUB scenes in the novel 😂
Since ML found out FL is a girl, he is so tender towards her. I love this type of history romance that ML acts cold but warm inside. Ryan Lei is da super 'Bathtub King' and da BEST 'Tsundere' (colgate/warm)' actor !

This drama is sooooooo good. Cheng Lei does such a great job making Zhou Ye looks good in this story. Just like ARP supported LL in Coroner's Diary. These MLs are doing great job making FLs shining ! CP's chemistry is very important in making romance drama!
