I think I kind of understand what you wrore about portraying the Flora in the drama. Hereafter is my feelings of comparison of Novel vs. Drama:

(n) Novel (d) Drama

(n) Female lead oriented ; Flora, her growth is the core story
(d) Make lead oriented ; Luke as romantic lead, finding thru love
I think production wanted more romanticized storyline for female viewers with handsome actor. They also need to make money 😆

(n) Flora is much stronger person than in drama
(d) She is insecure, she wants romance, she is soft spoken and don't express herself well
My guess is in order to have male lead to stand out for future romance, they needed to make Flora much more low key character, so that Luke and Flora looks totally opposite in relation. Then they gradually walked towards to each other and made them equally balanced couple.

(n) Very raw relationships, friends with benefits becomes real love story
(d) They needed to tone down their relationships due to censorship, so it became more soft romantic story
It's too bad when freedom of speech is kind of controlled by authority can change the nuances of actual novel to something much more subdued.

These are my thought after completing the novel. I think sometimes it's best not to compared novel with drama, bcoz many times novel is better and readers will get disappointed. Overall, I like both drama and novel. I watched this video is bcoz of Sun Qian. Some said her acting wasn't good, but I think Director told her how to act in this drama, it's called directing 😂

While I was watching 'Lost You Forever', there were 2 seasons. It was almost 1 year apart, so I couldn't wait S2 and I read the whole novel. S1 was very similar to original and S2 the novel was so good. Then drama S2 came out. The most important part was changed 180 degree in drama. Readers were furious and reviews went so bad on S2. But many who didn't read said S2 was as good as S1. Some find out later that important part of S2 was changed completely but they liked the drama better bcoz it was less hurtful.... different takes of each individual. Hard to please everyone, right? That's all. Thx for reading it.

I read almost all reviews here and you made the most fair and good opinions about this drama to me. Maybe bcoz you read the novel. Many low rates are basically hating toxic characters. They should never watch if this type of drama isn't their cup of tea. Some dropped it but some continued to watch then complained about it 😂 I don't get their mentality. If I don't like it, I won't watch it, period. Some noted that they forced themselves to watch it, WHY????

I almost finish reading the novel online translated in ENG and making this long chapters into 24eps must have been hard. Narratives of ML and FL are slightly different in the drama per my opinion, but both actors portrayed them very well. Reading novel probably can relate to the characters better, maybe bcoz you can feel their inner thought thru wordings. That's why when the small things/details are missed out in the drama, novel reader feel uneasy or frustrated. Thats why I only read after or in the middle of drama once I liked the drama very much. Length of drama and how to express their feelings and thinkings are all up to screenwriters and Director. And how actors express/oerform their feelings and characters will follow. When entire things synchronize, drama will become excellent... I think.

BTW, with my experience since I maybe older groups as audiences, many men or should I say many people are not easy to change, but there are people who changed bcoz of true love. That is possible and I know someone like that through my friend. There are many compromises in their relationships but that's is what True Love does. This drama portrayed the same to me.

And I married to my boss and I can related to this drama a lot. It's very complicated when you are in office relationship. I also broke up on 4th years bcoz of my husbands wishy washy personality 😂 Obviously not bcoz of office politics like this drama. Luckily we are happily married, That's why I love this drama very much bcoz I can related to it.

There were discussions about why Luke asked Hr/Tracy to keep it secret about award, pictures and Luke is taking job at USA. Hereafter some I found I kind of agree:

Protecting Flora’s Pride: Flora genuinely earned and expected the promotion. Handing the award to a rival candidate backed by family connections (who secured a massive fund) was a heavy political blow.

Preventing Workplace Isolation: Luke wanted to spare Flora from the public embarrassment of knowing she lost out due to corporate maneuvering and her secret relationship status, hoping to buffer the emotional impact.

Controlling the Fallout: With evidence of Luke and Flora’s secret relationship already landing on HR’s desk via Tracy, Luke tried to manage the damage behind the scenes—even planning a transfer to the US to protect Flora's standing at Lime agency.

Unfortunately his good intentions to save Flora and their relationship gave opposit effect. Flora quit job and broke up with Luke. I guess Luke thought everything were under his controlled. Then he failed 😨 Novel on this is different from drama though.

I know JPN don't know how to speak ENG even we studied 9 yrs minimum 😂 Learning languages are great but hard !

Yes, I wanted to say 'there are some people who lack of empathy'. That's the phrase I wanted to say. (Eng is my 2nd language).

Anyway, I married to my boss and our relationship wasn't this up and down, but we once broke up on 4th yrs. Then happily married. I can relate to this drama a lot and I realized some people really have no idea what is like to be in office romance. This drama is very realistic except individual personality.....

EP22, I couldn't stop sobbing while watching Luke crying so hard while on the phone talking to Flora's line during aurora visit. He misses her, apologized her and he said he loves her three times. That scene only, I was able to forgive him of his bad behaviors up to Ep 21. He simply didn't know how to love her.

However in other SNS platform, some account posted how happy they were watching the scene and some comments with big smile emoji and they all laughed at him for crying.

I was simply stunned there are people felt like that....are we watching the same drama? I know he broke her heart and maybe he deserves to be punished for it, but he knows he made the mistakes.

I was just so shocked to know there are so many different people in the world how they felt the particular scene.......

Help; people who are familiar with C-drama process. How long does it usually take to air the drama once drama starts looking for sponsors? They started looking for sponsors and news sounded like it may air soon once they gathered sponsored? I am just itching to watch this drama so guessing how long it usually take to air .....

Yes, that's their problem. They don't communicate well. He is ' Tsundere '(cold outside and warm inside), and he really doesn't know how to say or act bcoz he is like his dad. But even his jerk dad repaired his typewriter for all night long and told his mom not to tell him he repaired it. Why cannot say or show in words and actions instead of hiding the facts or true feelings? Bcoz he (including his dad) is too proud and arrogant. Typical men 😆 That's my take about who Luke is. And Flora is too scare to ask. Bcoz she is afraid of rejection. She finally did, then as she expected he rejected.

I think so many women were always after him and no one made him jealous like Flora did. It was such a childish act of Luke. That being said, Luke already loves her, but never admits he does bcoz he thinks he is under control 😂

Agree. I read somewhere it noted that production wanted like 32 eps, but they edited to fit into 24 😭 The original novel was 10 years (I am reading it now) of their relationship to complete their love.

Yes, SY and Flora were in Northwest. Flora was heading home at Northwest and at the same time Luke was already on the freeway to see Flora before the trip to USA. I supposed it was a surprise visit. They were on the phone and she was taking taxi home and Luke was driving to her place. There was a scene of Freeway to Northwest where Luke's car was passing the toll road (or getting off the freeway. ) Then he parked his car near Flora's home and sitting in the car where Luke saw SY and Flora hugging. They can fly but they can drive distance I believe. He didn't take a flight bcoz it could have been the last minute decision to surprise her so he drive a long distance. That's what director probably wanted to tell us that he was missing her that much.

Hmmmmmm maybe the translation is bad? I happened to understand some of chinese characters, so I can tell times and places. They need to translate everything showing in the screen so that ppl won't get confused..... sorry you got confused.
