I hear you. I agree that both ML and FL have changed since they started to date, Means they changed to be better and more mature. Even it was just for the weekend partner in the beginning, both became to care for one another. Especially for Luke, he just wanted to be casual weekend relationship. But now I think he is falling for her. His jealousy shows how much he likes her. Off course for Flora, she was already in love with him. However becoz they are half of their time together as 'boss and subordinate' dynamic relationship, it's not easy to openly talks. If they work at different company, their relationship may progress faster and better. I truly believe the core issue is they are not equal in their relationship bcoz 'boss and subordinate'.... that's my take.

I think first break up is 18 when Luke rejected what Flora's bucket list, open relationship, marriage in the future....Luke totally rejected even he loves her.... it's been 4 yrs....then Flora realized no future. In trailer ep19, Luke asked her to come back to start over. But someone noted the real break up is ep 20. Flora really quit job and go back home. Then after two years of separation, means 6 yrs after they dated, they will finally reunite ? Oh boy, the time frame is confusing, I just had to leave my thought here. I am in U.S. and company doesn't have much gossips in surfaces and personal differences like Luke and Donny, therefore behind the scenes I did experienced something similar but much more low keys. Women workers tend to gossip about personal life and men worker do have competitive attitudes toward promotions. And any type of harassments are totally controlled by training by taking video training every two yrs. Even so we did have two harassment law suites and we lost. It was due to weak HR, so we hired top money to get qualified manger. This drama set up seems to be very healthy and I like the ppl work there. It's always up to management who run the office. So Luke is a great manager.
BTW I married to my boss 😆 I can relate to main CP. It was secret and when we made announcement for marriage, everyone fell from chairs bcoz they had zero knowledge about us 😂 We fooled them 4 yrs.

I plan to watch after the drama finishes airing. Bcoz original is sad ending per reviews I've been reading. This is the story during the turmoil of Republic of China. Very dark time in its history. Some noted that director made few endings and it could be happy ending. Therefore, if they will follow the original novel, processes aren't uplifting, but more of depressing. I watched 4 dramas of similar period and all were super depressing. So after I read everyone's review, I will decide.

About Sun Qian.... when she was the FL of drama named Dr. Cutie, mean ppl criticized her looks. I don't get it. I really came to like her after that drama bcos her natural looks and cuteness. I also happy to read about the director of this drama praised her for her completely natural, non-traditional chemistry and distinctive emotional rhythm alongside co-star Jing Boran. The director also highly valued her raw, authentic approach actings. And great to know how the intimacy coordinator helped Sun Qian navigate the drama's many romance scenes. Bcos there are so many kiss scenes in this drama!!! Great Job Sun Qian 👏 👏 👏
