Those people basically killed her mother, her maid, took her money, made her father disown her, framed her for the crime of faking her death, and have tried to kill her several times yet she's in the wrong. How exactly was she supposed to get out of that situation? Telling the truth would not have helped. Even if she ran to her father to explain everything and some how magically managed to get proof other than what she over heard, in order to save his own skin and his son, he would have still abandoned her. And the princess stole someone else's husband and is unhappy that said person does not worship the ground she walks on. Her weird monologue about him only needing to love and care about her was insanity. But I will say, the two are perfectly matched in their delusion and will most likely end up torturing each other throughout their marriage.

IF he had left Mudan alone and wasn't bothering her / trying to break off his engagement to be with her despite her rejecting him at every turn, none of this would be happening. She needs to stab him once for me to be satisfied. He only loves himself and thinks he's the best thing since sliced cheese. I haven't had the courage to watch today's episode in full, only small clips, but that's my feeling after what I've seen. Additionally, most of the comments I've seen towards Shengyi honestly have not been that hateful. Many people have been understanding towards her situation and the cycle of abuse, that being said, we as viewers are still allowed to be disappointed or annoyed at the ripple effect that the cycle is having. Those who are close to her are also experiencing harm which isn't fair. Anyway, I for one, do not want her to die and hope that eventually, she escapes that man, but I also don't want to see Mudan being put in harm's way to help her. I don't think that's a crazy opinion to have.
