Yes! For years they have been saying he will never be better than his LCY role but now he has YQ + LM, MYQ, and MR and they are all so different from each other and from his LCY role. This was honestly the drama he needed to get away from the LCY role and allowed people to see him/his acting in a new light.

Same but I see it already happening from that "fall in love" comment they added in the final episode of TSL and the words on the fan (i.e. bat for both teams or the title of that drama, I don't remember clearly now) that Wenren held. CXX I can see backing away from it (he usually doesn't do promo to that extent anyway from my research, TSL really is the one exception so far) but CMC I can see playing it up (not really on him but he is under Liu Ning so he won't really have a choice either way).

That't hilarious because CXX was still in college or at least just graduated then so he didn't even have a solid fanbase yet (even though he acting since he was young). People projected on PXR hard and claimed she was pitiful like her character and you can still see these same type of comments while CXX still got hate on for playing a character. I know the shippers from back then were mad too because CXX in an interview around then said he won't date anyone more than 2-3 years old than him and PXR is like 6 years older than him so he shattered any hope of them together irl lol.

I didn't look into the trailer thing so no idea but I am happy they went with his original voice. This shows CXX is entirely capable of acting without needing to rely on voice actors which gives him a better edge.

Youku is Youku lol. This drama really succeeded because of the actors/actresses with their acting skills.

I liked the drama at the start but couldn't finish it once they introduced the "primary wife" (even though it is HE at the end and the character is a good one) but it just demonstrated the ML's lack of power from preventing it to happen which I really didn't care for. And yeah, the drama is cute for what it is but it is nothing deep (didn't require much depth) and not something I did rewatch again.

I think both CXX and LLD both tend to switch up between romance dramas and more "life" dramas that are more realistic so it is good that they are keeping that up to make sure they don't get stuck on just acting romance/idol-like dramas.

I know he will have to do those typical drama broadcast promo but I wonder if he will have to do anymore especially since the producer is who it is... probably not a good idea to go against him for his future ugh.

The mess with TXW was bad but I am not going to get into it lol. I enjoyed her in "Lovely Us" and "New Life Begins" but I would say her range seems limited for more complicated emotions.

I watched LLD's "Enlighten Your Life" recently and her acting is great there too.

They projected onto CXX too basically. Since the character Li Cheng Yin forsaken the FL, CXX irl needs to take care of the actress/love the actress to make up for it.

Same, but if "Guardians of the Lands" ends up airing... I see more mess lol. Liu Ning will definitely try to push for CMC more and that includes him frying CP with CXX. Not to mention this drama was filmed before TSL so the relationship/character entanglements 😂 Some people were already not happy with CMC saying he wish the twins flower take longer to revive for their last broadcast aka leaning into his next main ship.

It is really no wonder CXX doesn't do variety shows or attend events. Just more opportunities for people to slander him.

LLD's contract with her company is coming up so a lot of people are praying she switch company. That company was really trash in many ways, the only good thing they really did was the CEO calling up Youku/investors at the time when it was rumored TXW was going to take the YT role and let them know this was happening behind the scene without Youku/investors' consent. Just sad that LLD was already practicing with them for a month and she could still had been kicked out of her role because TXW had connections and Liu Ning had close ties with those connections.

LLD was on this variety show before called "The Inn Season 3" back in 2019 and that show is known to edit the celebs really badly (these shows are also known to have scripts so they would have "customers" who would show up to cause trouble on purpose) and LLD (and Wu Lei who was also on the show) got dragged through the mud for it. Before TSL aired, people still brought up that variety show to hate on her. She became known from "My Huckleberry Friends" (2017) and had a really positive reputation but her company then pushed her to take on roles that the company produced like "Dreaming Back to the Qing Dynasty" (2019) which got her even more dragged especially because her sleep schedule then while filming that drama was really bad + she was in her growing age at the time so she ended up gaining weight and that is a crime to netizens. LLD also mentioned before in one of the pair interviews she had with CXX that she still fear gaining weight. Plus because of the long-time dating rumor of her and ZXC, she was constantly dragged by his fans saying she doesn't match him + they always take it out on her whenever a new dating rumor pops up with ZXC and his co-stars (while trying to ignore the fact that she was a minor when she filmed "My Huckleberry Friends" with him and it was rumored that he had a girlfriend at the time so if anything, LLD shouldn't be the one getting dragged). She also almost got replaced by TXW for the YT role which is another mess because it was being pushed at first that it was LLD's fault that she lost out on the role but the truth was something else.

CXX gained success from his role as Li Cheng Yin in "Goodbye My Princess" (2019) but he was also massively hated on by the FL/actress's fans and the shipper fans. It is like a twisted kind of love/hate that he is not allowed to have any other ships except that FL/actress (because his character in that drama "failed" the FL) and that Li Cheng Yin was his best role and his other roles aren't up to par. He didn't have a strong fanbase back then too so his fans couldn't do much. Those same anti-fans/shippers have been sticking around every time he has a new drama to drag him and say his looks got worse, his acting declined, etc. Part of the hate he got when TSL first aired was them pushing out videos comparing his character/looks/voice to his Li Cheng Yin character who was dubbed to say he was better then.

In a way, TSL helped both gained fans/shipper fans who are willing to defend them and show them in positive lights again. YQ and YT were roles that let them both have a second role that was as memorable as their first roles (i.e. Yu Zhou Zhou and Li Cheng Yin) and both of these roles were vastly different from their first memorable roles.

I wish CXX and LLD the best moving onward. I hope they get good scripts and get to act the characters they like. Through this drama, I started researching more about them and learned both went through a lot from being maliciously edited on variety shows to being straight up hated for a character they acted before. I think that makes their relationship (whatever that might be) even sweeter because both are very considerate towards each other and both of their fans therefore have been really great with each other too, which is pretty rare when it comes to CPs in C-dramaland. This is the probably the first popular CP in C-dramaland in a looooong time where the individual fans of the actor and actress don't straight up hate each other. I am glad they were able gain a lot of new fans from this drama who will defend them and look forward to their future works.

Oh yeah definitely, I think a lot of them end up getting type casted and they just do the roles with the looks/outfits that made them popular in the first place in hope they can get the same result again.

I don't think he will, he doesn't seem interested in going down that route and from what I know, he manages himself/not under a company so he is the one who decides what script to take (if I remember correctly, he took like a 9 month break after TSL). He rarely go on shows/events too so he doesn't seem interested in that aspect of the ent business.

Ahhh, probably one of those dramas with multiple MLs who are all in love with the FL. The one she ends up with might not be the one she ends up having the most backstory with.

Haha he really set the standard! I find that once a lot of them start getting popular/head to the liuliang route, even if their actings were decent/good before, it declined once they go down that path.

Lmao I tried watching "Blue Whisperer" and it was a no for me. Especially because I have seen Ren Jialun in other dramas like "Under the Power" and he was better there with the acting and chemistry.

I usually like ZLS's dramas. Unfortunately, I pretty much dropped a majority of Reba's dramas. I think the only two I ever finished was "Three Lives Three Worlds Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms" (but she was not the main there) and "The Glory" (I liked her character/her acting is suitable there). I liked YZ's older dramas but haven't really cared about her recent ones.

Been trying to get into the newly released romance focused C-dramas and I pretty much dropped all of them, The chemistry is not chemistry-ing in the other new ones (not to say the other actors/actresses can't act, but my heart is unmoved). 😔 Besides a good plot and characterizations, CP chemistry between the leads is so important. They need to make me believe without a doubt that they fell for each other. CXX and LLD set the bar high with YQ and YT. I am still stuck here.

LOL it was so obvious when they dropped that hint on Wenren's fan (that he bat for both teams) in the drama and the ending dialogue between YQ and CF. People were understandably upset because they were trying to push a ship from a drama that didn't even drop yet onto the current drama. Not to mention this producer has a history of doing things like this and the whole drama involving TXW almost replacing LLD... he didn't want the main CP to get that popular but sucks for him.
