This is the first time I've watched LLD in a drama and i actually don't find her very goodlooking in Filter. In…
They "downgrade" her looks in this drama so I think for first time viewer, it shouldn't really be a problem. I think a lot of people making the comments about this (even on the C-side) is because we all know how LLD usually look like. Also, I am personally neutral about Bai Lu's looks and in China, she is considered one of the "top 4 plain actresses" (though a lot of people also argue she shouldn't be put together with the other three because she "looks better than them") so again, everyone has different perception of beauty.
LLD is considered to have beautiful face especially on the C-side because she has what we call a perfect ไบๅฎ. SCC is honestly not a hard role for her, nor does it have major explosive scenes. People have watched LLD's other dramas with tougher roles where her characters were required to have very emotional scenes, and her facial features doesn't break apart even when sobbing or arguing with another character (this is a problem with a lot of the current popular actresses when their facial features basically go out of control during those scenes and they "stop acting"). She is also very reminiscence of Chinese actresses from the 70s-80s and a natural face (never had plastic procedures) so her face is considered very beautiful over there.
In the later episode when SCC carried drunk!TQ home. He was hugging SCC in bed and mentioned needing to pee. I…
Me neither. ๐ญ But now that I am thinking about it, it does make sense. ๐ Because if TQ really got to pee, they did show us a scene of SCC taking TQ to the bathroom but that scene left it off with him in bed still hugging her so it can't be urine (or else he did wet the bed). ๐
Yes, people on C-platforms have said even with Douban, there is definitely a company behind with dropping in waves…
Everyone is always breaking "records" in C-industry. ๐ At this point, these number stats are so arbitrary so I just ignore them most of the time because these numbers doesn't mean a long-term career or how well your name is respected by the general public. The fans can have fun with these numbers but that's really it.

We all think TQ is too "innocent" LOL. And he is but he is still a grown man with needs at the end of the day (the way he was gripping that chair to not kiss SCC??? We know what he is!!!). ๐
Apparently a horny moment that flew over my head (and many people's heads):
In the later episode when SCC carried drunk!TQ home. He was hugging SCC in bed and mentioned needing to pee. I thought it was just supposed to be a funny moment (since it was an out of place comment). But people on C-platforms are saying it is TQ getting an erection from the hug but he was drunk so thought he had to pee and SCC didn't get it either. ๐ญ
I like this drama I am a fan of both the male lead and the female lead however, theyโre just one big hiccup…
Would the alpaca being cuter than the average alpaca help? ๐ญ The alpaca is mainly in just episode 8 so if you want, you can skip that episode. BUT I did suggest reading a summary of that episode because that episode was pretty important for the development of the main pair's relationship. I can also write a summary of that episode under spoiler for you if you want to skip that episode.

Yeah, it is a money game at the end of the day. I try not to be too focused on stats because it just gets people worked up. If a drama is good, then the audience responds in kind. The numbers can be controlled but discussions, analyses, fanarts, passion for the drama, etc. can't be faked and you can always tell whether a drama is quality or not by the positive responses it gets from the viewers. There are many "popular" dramas, but many are also popular due to the negativity and those type of dramas just leave people exhausted and annoyed and doesn't reflect well on the cast's careers long-term.

There are some theories, but I don't want to mention any names since there really is no concrete proof. It is said that some actors/their companies have ties to these type of "rating" companies where you can pay them and their team of people from the 100s to the 1000s can rate a drama how you want (depending on how much you pay up). Then you have the fans of these actors doing this because they don't want anyone but their favs to "succeed".
It comes down to competition within the industry. TJC is in this unique situation where he is kind of like a liuliang/traffic star, but he is able to do these "non-idol" dramas + original IPs and they do well. Some of his fans have said UTS 2 for example has been "cut" in terms of heat/stats and it is probably a combination of his "rivals" and the platform. These dramas might air on these platforms, but these platforms have their own agenda and have specific dramas they want to do super well (those they invested in way more) and some dramas they don't want to do too well. These stat charts are also not 100% unbiased either. When there is money involved, numbers can always change (to be better or to be worse).
Filter for example aired on Tencent but it is a combined production with another company. That means this drama is not a full-on Tencent "child" so Tencent would not fully promote this drama like some of their 100% invested dramas. Same thing with actors/actresses, these platforms want to push the ones they have ties with so there are actors/actresses who are known as prince/princess of these platforms.
No problem! The official Weibo and Douyin accounts have a lot more content (if you want to check then out) and have been so receptive toward viewers of this drama. Even the director said the fans of his drama are very sincere and it really has and continues to be a good experience with the way people are making fanarts, writing analyses, and creating edits to promote this drama. It is just very sweet.
Super interesting video! Filter's official account dropped a video of theย Cinematography Director Chen Dan and showed us scenes of how they created the transformations, the transitions, the back and forth between SCC/her transformations, the technology they used for this drama, etc.
