Some more good news about this drama:

Usually once a drama has an express package where people can pay to watch the last few episodes before everyone else, the ads amount don't change anymore since the drama technically "ended". However, Filter still has ads being added into the different episodes meaning product companies are seeing the popularity of Filter even now. In addition, Filter is ranked #1 on the paid ranking on Tencent meaning LOTS of people paid/got subscription to watch Filter (it is above even the most popular Donghua/animations on Tencent right now).

They probably laughed non-stop 24/7 while filming this drama. 😂 Not even the "angst" scenes can stop them!

Yes! It did be nice to see them working together again. 😊

Yup, I like how her clothes are gradually more "stylish" and fit her job, but they are still that type of oversized clothing she likes.

Yes, I am glad they didn't push too much with the "ugly" make-up. SCC's "plainness" is a lot more natural and relatable to the typical women from having not the best skin condition to not knowing how to dress for their body type. I have seen dramas before where they tried to make the FL "ugly" (buck teeth, curly hair, etc.) in order to show this absolute transformation at the end without the "ugly" make up and they usually end up being offensive instead.

It is also because LLD barely wear make-up in this drama, her oversized clothes are meant to make her look frumpy, and her hair/bangs in the beginning were meant to be bad too. It is said they filmed her with different lighting compared to the other cast in the beginning to try to age her skin, added pimples, drew on eye bags, etc.

Basically, she is not really supposed to be seen as this "great beauty". LLD also said she amplified the appearance anxiety the character SCC has so her acting in the beginning really conveyed a typical woman who has some insecurity about the way she looks.

In the last episode, there is this scene where it is like a callback to episode 1 and they are the same position/scene but later!SCC looks "prettier" compared to before!SCC (part of it is her change in appearance with her make-up/hair/clothes but also SCC's confident personality coming out in full force).

Exactly, just means they only like the character which is totally fine but then don't project that onto the actor and only want them to take roles similar to that character.

Truly dislike it when "fans" try to limit actors/actresses to only certain roles/type casting them. These people will hit their 30s/40s/50s, they can't continue to play these "macho/powerful/demon lord" characters and stay in idol dramas. The only ones still doing these genres only in their 30s-40s are /because/ they can't break through, and the industry doesn't take them seriously. Fans should be celebrating when their favs are being casted with roles that are unlike the ones they became known for because it is a chance to show their range and talent.

He actually said tangerine which makes it even funnier because tangerine /can/ be a cross breed of orange so he is right that an orange (SCC) can "give birth" to a tangerine. 😂

This person sounds like those 1-star Douban comments with the appearances. 😅 XL is an iconic role and he got a lot of love for it, but TQ is an amazing role for him.

TJC had to show a lot of range for this role (comedy, loss, "green tea", pure love, etc.) and that's why TQ's nicknames in C-platforms include "male ghost", "hot nerd", etc. TQ doesn't fit the typical C-drama ML archetype at all and has a pretty unique standing in C-dramas.

If this is not your type of genre, then you are always free to skip it. 😊 I love slow burn romance because I love it when the characters as individuals get focal point first. I really don't care for two characters in love if I can't even talk about these characters as individuals first (what are their values, what are their dreams, do they have a life besides being in love, etc.).

For the people who likes this type of genre, this is a gold mine drama with the number of details and analyses you can do for the drama, the themes, and the characters. It is one of the reasons why this drama is highly rated in China.

Haha don't worry the pacing of this drama is pretty good and all the arcs are meaningful + has a message. No dialogues/scenes in this drama are fillers. A lot of the things in the first half also ties back to the latter half of this drama.

If you are into growth story and slow burn romance, then yes! This is a pretty atypical drama for the C-industry with this specific genre and they approached the romance here pretty differently. This drama is hilarious, but it has a lot of meaningful dialogues. In addition, filter is not just about the bracelet but the filters the characters have on each other which affects their POV of each other. No one is truly a "villain" here and they all made decisions that were logical from their POV. The characters all got their flaws, but they are very lovable characters and when they get to the point aka main pair actually get together, it is ridiculously sweet and you can absolutely understand why they were meant for each other, and not due to appearances/education/gender, etc.

The behind the scenes of this drama are hilarious too. 😭 I just saw the one with TJC making the tangerine joke at LLD and her chasing him around for that. I am glad the cast had fun, and all got along so well with each other. It definitely contributed to viewers enjoying the drama so much too.

There is already some mess with this drama today. Li Landi is the first billing for this drama but there have been messes with the production/iQiyi spelling her character's name wrong multiple times and now during their Expo today, the poster they picked to showcase is the one where ARP's character is on top (while her character is blurry on the bottom). LLD's studio has addressed this and the poster will be changed tomorrow.

This drama is adapted from a FL-centric novel and the major storyline is about her revenge. The way iQiyi is pushing this drama seems to be promoting ARP which they can do whatever they want but my fear is this might affect how the drama's Final Cut will be edited aka the FL's central storyline becomes weaker in order to push for ML's story more. I truly hope this production understands that a drama doing well = the entire cast will be uplifted so they need to not mess with the storyline which revolves around the FL's revenge for personal interests.

My worry about this drama:

Just want to share something cute with the viewers on C-side. There is a ridiculously amount of details and callbacks in this drama. So, whenever someone share something they noticed that others didn't, the comments would all be going "Gasp, I didn't notice this, I shall punish myself with rewatching this drama". 😂

Some examples would be TQ giving apples to SCC (since he knew she likes them from the FJ arc), TQ's dad seemingly just focused on eating during their dinner at a restaurant that one time because it was said later that TQ's mom sucks at cooking (so he wasn't being cold, he was busy trying to eat some good food), QST's "grandma" asking TQ "Don't you like to eat orange?" (unintentional pun with her own name), etc.

Yes! And so many are new accounts too so they can't rate 5 stars even when they wanted to (only 4 stars max for new accounts). I am so happy to see so many people enjoying this drama and being so excited to talk about it.
