I do too! He is just such a great male lead! I knew he was different since episode 1 when he thought he was being "bullied". 😭

I'm late coming into this, on Ep 4 and I'm loving it. It doesn't feel like a normal cdrama? I can't put my finger…
Yes, even the C-side was shock that a drama production like this came from the C-industry (especially because it wasn't adapted from a novel and is an original IP). It has been a while where a FL in a modern idol C-drama isn't written to "serve" the ML and the 2nd FL has a life outside of just being the FL's best friend. This drama has been praised on C-platforms with the amount of care they gave to the female characters aka they have depth, and they have careers/people that they care about beyond just the romance. The characters are also written to develop throughout the drama, so they feel like real people.

I'm at episode 27 and I recommend it! It's hilarious (I love the humour) and once the story is settled, it gets…
Tbh there are a lot more Chinese movie/novel/historical figure references in this drama too like Sun Wukong, "Nezha", "Dream of the Red Chamber", "The Goddess", etc. which adds another layer to their dialogues/scenes.

There are even references to foreign works like "Something Like an Autobiography", "Kill Me, Heal Me", etc.

But even without knowing those, I do agree the humor would work in general with the international viewers too.

All these extra layers just make it even funnier for people who like to analyze.

1) The whole set up of the turtles, LY has bad luck whenever she sees GY (while GY gains luck)2) GY's past with…
Yup! And I think each of the woman ultimately represented different types of lives which are all valid:

SCC - marriage (and maybe children in the future)
LY - children without marriage (or children before marriage)
SQL - no marriage and no children
FJ - divorced/single
WY - marriage with children
JXZ - maybe farfetched but LGBTQ+
GY's mom - widowed with child

LY's and GY's story is so interesting too because people were shaken at the end, and they took it as they had…
1) The whole set up of the turtles, LY has bad luck whenever she sees GY (while GY gains luck)
2) GY's past with all his exes and he somehow was able to maintain a friendly relationship with them all
3) GY seemingly not having boundaries with LY who he just met and had her sign all those books
4) The whole contract talk
5) GY getting LY involved in his work (without pay?)
6) LY's turtle turning blind at the end
7) TQ being sarcastic when he said to GY, "Wish you well on succeeding in preserving the pregnancy" and GY saying how that sounds weird (which hints that GY's main goal at the end of the day is just to have the baby)
8) GY not catching the crushed walnuts while TQ caught them when they had the talk with SCC's dad
9) Group photo that GY took with the SCC's family (implying their future?): TQ/SCC close to each other/hugging, SQL smiling by herself, SCC's parents close to each other/hands touching, and then you have LY and GY with a big gap between them due to how GY was positioned while taking the photo.

There are many more, but people still see their relationship as kind of a paradox where it is not really clear cut. GY loving LY isn't a lie but at the same time, their relationship is not totally balanced.

LY's and GY's story is so interesting too because people were shaken at the end, and they took it as they had filters on about GY all this time and went back to rewatch their interactions.

1) I would agree that SCC had made a huge impression on Tang Qi as an adolescent that he carried with him to the…
Yes! Some people saw it as him becoming physically stronger after that incident because he realized he couldn't carry someone he loves so he wanted to make sure that won't happen again.

Other people thought in a way, it was the weight of his feelings. That his feelings for SCC as /herself/ was deeper by that point unaware to his own self so that he is able to summon that energy to carry her.

Other people thought it was just plain adrenaline in the moment as SCC was "fainting" haha.

Another analysis of a user on their second watch which explained even more on SCC's reaction to TQ's confession: xhslink.com/a/6o8oBsqmDtV7

It wasn't just about the reunion scene; it was also about the mistaken identity scene of SCC in the red dress. SCC was publicly humiliated 2 times and at the end of the day, it was still about "appearance" (be it because it was actually about the make-up, the dress, the simple fact that she wasn't SM, etc.). TQ's first sentence out of the gate is "Why did you pretend to be Ms. Su?" was due to his prejudice against her, that SCC is someone he /believed/ would go around pretending to be other people and take their accomplishments + the other comments he made after that. Then SCC has to see other people's expressions looking awkward, shocked, and "weirded out" by the way she dressed. It is also why so many people said SCC is mentally strong (plus just really love her job that much) because if it was them, they did never go back to that workplace or have anything to do with the people there ever again.

It is also why during the confession scene; SCC was shocked and did not believe in TQ. It is also why she said she will never use the bracelet again as she thought TQ approached her with this confession in the hopes that she did change to SM/FJ so he can see /them/.

Looking back/rewatching these episodes, it truly is amazing that they can even get to where they are LOL.

On the surface, people want to know why SCC just can't say the identities have left the country? That there's…
See this is why I said there is projection with how people wanted TQ to react. It is just not TQ's character to do that + he also recognized he had a hand in this because the filters were constantly rejecting him.

SCC wasn't going out of her way to make him fall for her either. Their entanglement at various stages in this relationship could have ended but TQ kept on meeting these filters and falling for them, his continuous interactions with them, his eyes making him clock QST, etc.

While on SCC's end, her guilt plus her wanting to check-in on TQ to make sure he is okay led to her doing things for him that she won't do for anyone else which deepens their relationship as TQ/SCC and makes TQ even more persistent about figuring out SCC/QST. If SCC was cold af for example and didn't care about TQ losing his color visions, their relationship won't even progress so both of them had a hand in how their relationship ended up and that is the beauty of it.

Had TQ been less TQ and SCC had been less SCC, they won't had ended up together.

On the surface, people want to know why SCC just can't say the identities have left the country? That there's…
Exactly, it is:

1) For the plot
2) SCC + her gang didn't think TQ was /that/ serious about these filters (because seriously, it wasn't even a month)
3) She got it with FJ but she didn't think he did care about QST because there weren't romantic feelings involved + at that point, she was being chased so relentlessly that in her POV, k*lling him off would be the easiest way but TQ is TQ, it is shown that even death won't stop him.
4) Non-deaths disappearance won't stop TQ, TQ is shown to be so persistent and will use all his resources to track down someone like how he did with QST with the cops, his lab examination, his own buddies in the scientific field, etc.

I love all the science talks in Filter and how this drama made the serious conversations so effortlessly entertaining…
Yup, just so many easter eggs. I remember someone catching how there was a sign pointing at GY in an earlier episode where he was drunk and the sign said, "Will be lucky!" There are just many things to notice in every scene.

1) I would agree that SCC had made a huge impression on Tang Qi as an adolescent that he carried with him to the…
People on C-side mentions that TQ has two sides to him. In front of the filters, the filters are almost put on a pedestal, so he is more on the "weaker" side where he is like a puppy doing the chasing and is willing to accept anything (and SCC is also bolder as the filters which made her the "stronger" one during those times). In front of SCC, he already let out his other side which is "stronger" mentally as he is her boss and has complicated history with her (so was cold to her and is shown to be able to make snide comments) + SCC as SCC then doesn't have much of an upper hand as she is his employee.

When TQ and SCC finally came together, both of those sides mixed together for her, so he has this mature vibe but also really sweet with her. People enjoy shipping them there because they can be BG (boyxgirl) but also GB (girlxboy) and the person who has the "upper hand" can change depending on the situation.

Yup! It wasn't at the level of love, but it was interest/curiosity at least but he had filters on about her (and even thought she had a weak body from being "sick"/off from work all the time) which prevented him from seeing her as just /her/.
