Prince Rupertβs drops have been around for over 400 years. The glass is all about beauty, pressure, surface…
I just love all the scientific references they added into this drama especially since TQ has a doctoral degree so it makes sense. So well researched and relevant during their specific arcs.
I think you can just see her as a "symbol". That she represents typical girls who might even fit the beauty standard in certain ways, but they get compared to other girls who fit the beauty standard even more. There are many people you see and think wow; they are so pretty. But these same people are stuck on their "imperfections", or their "imperfections" get pointed out so often that they can't help but hyperfocus on it.
The "beauties" in this drama (and in a lot of industry like the fashion industry) are tall and slimmer. They have fuller hair, make-up on point 24/7, wear fashionable clothes, etc. SCC gets compared to that type of standard so compared to them, she is not considered "beautiful" (not stylish, not super slim, etc.).
im only on the second episode but canβt tell if its the same actress playing the dull and glam version of herself…
Two different actresses! The transformations will be acted by other actresses/actor/animals/things (lol), but you get scenes of it going back to SCC (played by Li Landi).
TQ's and SCC's kiss at the end is the same pose as the music box kissing pose at the bar TQ and GY visits, the "How do you plan to thank me" that both used, etc. π₯² Just so many little details here and there.
I love it that Su Chengcheng and Tang Qi played arm wrestling at their wedding. It just fits so well. WHY ARE…
We will never move on!!! They will always have a special place in my heart. It really feels like seeing my irl friends getting married with how closely we got to see their stories.
Btw, it is Li Landi's 15th anniversary year as an actress since she debuted on 3/12/2010 at the age of 10 years old! πππ Congrats to her commitment as an actress and may she have many more years to come with amazing work and roles.
Legit teared up at the ending. π I love SCC and TQ so much along with everyone else too. Thanks again to the production/cast for bringing us such a great story.
didn't like the fact that she didn't wanted a baby but the so called plotting of him changing her mind by emotionally…
I can definitely see how it can be seen that way. My interpretation is more that LY was hesitant about having a child due to her childhood trauma and thinking she won't make a good mom due to it.
If she was already set, she won't be wavering so much. GY's story about his single mom showed that even as a child who grew up in a single parent household, he was happy and grew up into a fine adult. This is to show that even if their relationship doesn't work out in the future, a single parent /can/ raise a child well. LY saying she wants to be brave and take that step is her also acknowledging that she /does/ want to try to have her own family. But she just didn't think she did be able to due to her past, but it is different now since she has someone who loves her/she loves in return + other supportive people in her life.
However, I do get why people might not like that scene.
Not TQ saying if he knew it was SCC back then with the beer, he did be doing *. SIR, you would have run away back then. π He is down so bad. They are so adorable ugh, all these call back moments and everything connecting together.
I really love that there is a balance to the themes here especially their conversation of using things like filters and wearing make-up. That it is okay to use them and there is no need to avoid wearing make-up at all in order to be your "true" self especially if using these techs moderately makes you happy and feel good. π₯² This drama doesn't try to shame these aspects of "beauty" and understand why people use them.
The way this drama also continues to use examples of animals and animal behavior to draw parallels to their life situations is such a nice touch too. That humans tend to project their own thoughts onto animals' behaviors (certain species of fishes touching lips is actually them fighting, etc.), why is it that women are the ones expected to put in so much effort into their looks when it is often males in different animal species that tend to be doing that instead to attract mates, etc.
This drama really is so gentle with the way it approaches these topics and doesn't try to preach at you on what is the "right" thing to do. It just wants you to self-reflect and look at things in a new light. π
So whatβs the theory of the old lady with the bracelet? Is she a fairy god mother or she is from the future?Itβs…
The old lady said, "Thank you for participating in the filter experiment" to SCC and TQ's phone call with his colleagues said this kind of product might be created in a private lab.
It is likely that the old lady (maybe some sort of scientist) was looking for test subjects but was looking for someone kind since they wouldn't want it to be someone who ended up abusing it and doing bad things with it. SCC ended up filling the requirement with her buying up all the flowers.
