Another detail people noticed, SCC has Etsy emails and the Esty emails are related to her doll making hobby. She was looking at her emails to see if she got a response from her job applications but most of the emails she received were from Esty. This is a slow burn drama for sure. You are not really supposed to feel the leads' chemistry until later on due their own filters of each other. If you don't like this type of character development/slow-pace slow burn drama, it just might not be your cup of tea. 😔 But I think for most people who actually watched their journey until the end, we understood why SCC and TQ ended up together. It wasn't just because they are the leads of the drama, and they needed to end up together because the scriptwriter said so. Their development and growth together allowed them to compliment each other as a pair.

Plus, LY is so the type to prioritize her child over GY, so she did drop GY if he ever affects the child in a negative way for sure.

Yup, he was basically saying if it doesn't work out in the future, just be honest about it. It reminds the audience that no matter how good it seems right now, that can always change in the future. People were also pointing out the differences between how TQ and GY are. TQ seems to be more sincere and opens his heart while GY is still a businessman at the end of the day and approach things in a more calculating way. But thankfully, LY is not as naive as he thinks she is (the QST arc with her calling SCC letting her know GY is onto SCC is a good example).

Aging her own face would probably make it easier for TQ to see through her (especially in the later episode where LLD actually put on aged prosthetics for the real grandma!SCC scenes and you can recognize that it was her) + choosing her own grandma might cause another split personality arc LOL.

Most people support the explanation that "she" was a scientist conducting experiments and SCC was a selected test subject due to TQ's phone convo about private labs and the "old woman" thanking SCC for participating in the experiment.

Yup, especially because their ending can be interpreted in so many ways, so it is meant to be a bit vague and not concrete like SCC's and TQ's happy ending.

Tong Hua (桐华) is a homophone of 童话 (fairy tale).

Yes, many people see it as something that doesn't need to be explained in depth. It parallels with the scene of SCC helping out the little girl and the little girl going, "Are you a fairy?". Sometime good things happen and there is no need to really pursue the "truth" any further.

Another theory I saw going around is that the "old woman" is the SCC who never gave up the bracelet and kept on using it until the filter glitched and she got stuck as the "old woman" form. That she went back in time to give younger!SCC chances until SCC finally let go of the filter herself.

No problem! I love the amount of discussion this drama has generated because it is A LOT. People are still talking about the "old woman" who gave SCC the bracelet and some people made jokes that it is Tong Hua lol.

Definitely, especially with how the camera angle filmed the predator on the floor and his face underneath SCC's legs as a reference to "The Goddess".

1) From the very beginning, there was the lucky/unlucky turtles parallel that shows LY has bad luck every time she is around GY while GY has good luck while he is around LY. In Chinese culture, people sometime have their birth charts read before marriage, and they don't want to marry anyone that can bring them bad luck. From LY's POV, GY would not be a good match since it seems like he brings her bad luck.

The more positive side is that the turtles were trying to bring them together to create better luck for both.

2) LY doesn't believe in love nor marriage due to her childhood trauma. Even now that LY is pregnant, it doesn't seem like LY has any intention of getting married with GY. However, GY caught the flower bouquet during the SCC/TQ wedding hoping he did get married to LY. Although GY in the beginning seemingly agree to go with LY's dating style (aka without marriage as a goal), did he truly accept that?

The more positive side is that since there is now a child involved, being married would just make things easier and as unexpected things happen (aka a baby), people's prior beliefs might also change, and LY /might/ be okay to a marriage now as there is love and a baby.

3) LY and GY are meant to serve as a contrast to SCC and TQ. SCC and TQ had almost like a fairytale ending while LY's and GY's ending would be rooted in reality. In addition, in the later episode after the pregnancy reveal, TQ and GY had a conversation outdoor about the pregnancy and GY said he will proactively do things his way to have LY believe in him. TQ was shown against a white/light background while GY was shown against a dark background.

The more positive side is just GY trying to show LY that she can be a good parent since his single mother was also a good parent and he grew up well.

4) There was also the scene of LY with the chameleon toy for SCC. In front of LY, he said the toy was great and explained the principles of chameleon changing colors. However, when in front of TQ, GY spoke about LY being fuzzy lately and even fuzzing over the chameleon toy (aka saying one thing to her face but another behind her back).

However, most people think it is a hopeful ending for LY regardless because LY is independent, has money, has a career, and supportive people in her life. Her words were "I will love my child a lot and my child will love me a lot". GY is more of a side note and even by the end, it doesn't seem like she wants to be married to GY. Even if things didn't work out with her and GY in the future, LY would still be fine.

There is no debating at all that SCC's and TQ's ending was a good and happy one. That the both of them removing their filters allowed them to reach a happy ending.

However, there is actually quite a bit of a debate on LY's and GY's ending on C-platforms and that it might be Tong Hua's way to insert a cautionary tale, and a juxtaposition compared to our main pair. As everyone had filters on in this drama, that would include LY and GY in the beginning too, so once they removed their "filters", was it a true happy ending? 👀

Yes!!! I think the first arc with SM was meant more to be full on comedy (then it hits you with the ending scene where oh! TQ is actually in deep?) but the alpaca arc onward, you start seeing a shift especially after SCC realized she misunderstood some things about TQ and started to let her guard down. This drama does a good job on shifting their relationship through each arc.
