Yup, and even manipulating the "filters" of the viewers. Especially because viewers are not used to not having characters to "hate/dislike" (in order to uplift the main characters). There were people who were upset at XY not being more "tortured" when this is not the purpose of this drama.

I was reading how this usually happens with dramas with TJC in them and how they usually open with a good score but as time goes by, these groups come in waves and rate it to lower his drama scores. 💀

Same, the cast filmed 140 days for this drama. I did hate it if it gets ruined by these types of conflicts and if it hurts the actual plot.

They do, it was the one where LLD's character is in white with ARP's character on the bottom and the other one was ARP's character in black with LLD on the bottom (the 2 most recent pictures in photo).

There were other posters they could have used to show both clearly. But them picking that specific poster when the one with LLD's character as a focal point also exist was seen as pretty much a disrespectful move on purpose.

Not enough fans/popularity and though she can act, it is not to the point that she can carry a drama as a lead.

There are many veteran actresses/actors who doesn't have a "fanbase", but people will watch the dramas they lead because people know they are good and pick good scripts.

LQY is in this situation where her acting is not amazing enough for directors to go out of their way to push her into lead roles nor does she have so many fans that people will put her in dramas just to earn her fans' money. She also doesn't seem to have strong backing/sponsors to get her into lead roles. Second/supporting lead character actors/actresses can definitely blow up, but it depends on luck and if their acting is just that good. Dai Luwa (from MM) this year blew up a lot with her acting as the 2nd FL and she is someone who will be booking FL roles soon.

Right? And noticed how the type of language changes when it comes to "criticizing" the FLs. This is why I don't prefer watching ML-centric dramas with ML POVs because they viewers will always start leaning toward that and use this specific type of language only with the female characters. This is one of the dramas that switches POVs a lot and viewers who care for the characters would usually remain open-minded but then there are some viewers like this. 💀

There have been issues with how some of the Douyin videos have been posted even before MM aired. In the same expo, they also did this to Tan Songyun where she is not even on the poster (as the first billing) while only the ML/actor is on the poster. It seems like iQiyi thought these actresses not being "liuliang" stars were easier to push around. It is a bad look because non-fan doesn't want to see things like this and also think the drama production will slack off since it seems focused on billing "stealing".

People said likely around the summer or after. There should a new preview around April.

Douban situation: Viewers of the drama are pissed off LOL. Basically, with Douban, there kept on being waves of anti-groups dropping in 1/2 stars on this drama but because the fans of the drama have been consistent, the score didn't really change despite the number of raters going from 95K to 140K+. However, it seems like this anti campaign group changed their strategy and started doing waves of 3 stars now (harder to fight off because with 1-2 stars, you can report them if the comments have nothing to do with the drama). C-viewers are already annoyed at this drama only getting 7+ on Douban and have said this drama deserved more so they are not happy. Douban raters for this drama reached 148K already.

In conclusion, this drama being a threat was not on my 2025 bingo card for these anti groups to even be pushing like this even as the drama is wrapping up for VIPs. 😂 They have been relentless, but viewers of the drama took notice and are fighting back so it is like a rating war. 😂

It is actually TQ's personality trait to be this persistent/stubborn and it actually manifested later on through the arcs to allow him and SCC to end up together (his persistence/stubbornness was needed in this relationship). BUT he does tone it down more after the SM arc and you will see his gradual changes.

Slow burn (for us viewers) but actually fast paced for the characters based on their timeline now that I am thinking about it. 😂

They have the issue with QST that they gotta resolve first lol.

When I say the viewers on XHS are passionate, they are PASSIONATE. Someone on there made a timeline of the events in this drama based on the reunion date, dates on the contract, LY's hospital visit, etc.

The timeline is set from September 2024 (SCC looking for jobs) to late January 2025 (filter resolved). This means this all happened within a 4-month period. 😭

They basically have something happening every single day and people are cracking jokes that the characters go through all of this and is still able to keep up with their careers at the same time. 😂

Yup, there are ads within the drama. Didi was the most obvious one with them ordering a car all the time. 😂 The green/blue bike SCC was riding in one of the episodes is part of Didi too. I think another one I caught was a milk brand.

In episode 16 or something, LLD's ad with Taobao also aired on there. Now there are Estée Lauder ads, and they also just posted a product endorsement ad with LLD.

Tencent definitely has their favorites due to investment. Though they had a hand in "Filter", it is not their biggest investment, nor do they have people in this drama that they want to push. People were comparing the data/discussion of "Filter" with other Tencent dramas and "Filter" has way more than some of their other ones that reached 27K/28K heat index, so it is likely Tencent did swallow/pause the heat. But either way, this drama made its mark and Tencent made tons of profit from this so they can't be too upset.

HAH, someone made a compilation of Wang Yi's POV and why her comment of how it must not have been easy for TQ to successfully end up dating SCC makes so much sense.

LOL, just ignore them. Filter's promo is nothing when compared to TFF and TBT just by how many promo companies they hired alone. This drama is loved on C-platforms/by C-audience and that to me is always more important than any ad amounts, etc. Numbers are nice to see but a drama having good reviews/feedback and creating an entire fandom? That's a lot harder to accomplish and can't happen with just fans alone.
