Yaaaaay, low君 who is a big reviewer on Bilibili posted on Weibo that he watched episode 1-8 of Filter and how the drama is insane (in a positive way). Here is hoping he will do a video on it (and not get copyright strike) because his videos tend to get a lot of non-fans watching the dramas.

Drama watcher C-fans of Filter have also been changing their names and now the name is officially Shen Jing Bing/神镜兵 which is a homophone of 神经病 (neuropathy/crazy). 😭

The 神/shen character is the same, 镜/jing means mirror (part of the drama title), and 兵/bing means soldier LOL.

Yes haha, I love that they all get along behind the scenes too. Lord knows some of these actors/actresses beef behind the scenes over billing and screentime which ends up ruining the actual drama. It is always nice to see actors/actresses who actually put the drama first and doesn't mind not getting tons of screen time every episode.

Btw, TJC and LLD have worked together twice before in the same drama and movie (just not with each other directly since their characters didn't have any interactions) and TJC said in a recent interview that his memory of young LLD was her calling him "Jianci gege" lol.

"My Huckleberry Friends" - considered her breakout role and her character there is pretty beloved but the drama is a lot more internal conflicts/struggles students face and not a straight up romance and not really a comedy.

"Never Gone" - she played the younger version of FL during the main characters' school days and again more about the pain of parting she faced. She and Hu Xianxu (played the younger version of ML) were praised for their roles in it and there were people who only watched the drama for their younger selves. They felt like the adult versions didn't match up in terms of acting nor the chemistry.

"Don't Disturb My Study" - I haven't watched that one but I heard it was cute. Her character's personality there is a lot more outgoing compared to the first two.

Yesss, get on her train! I knew of her from way before but really only paid attention after The Starry Love and I have watched all her drama that was aired after TSL and they have all been great (even if the drama plot has problems later on, she still serves great acting). She is an amazing actress and has amazing range. She is considered one of the top actresses in her age range (the 95-99 generation) in China too especially because her diction is one of the best. She is also a child actress so she has been acting for around 15 years now since she was 10 years old.

Haha her negative impression on him was too strong back in their school days. Once your impression of someone is set in stone, it is hard to change. But he is starting to see some positive things about SCC here and there. It is slow burn in a way. 🤭 TQ definitely is lowkey curious about her though because her impression on him was so strong that he still remembered her even years later as the troublemaker sports star from their school (they weren't even in the same year either).

Yeahhhh, she got dragged a lot for that drama (especially for her weight) and her company did her dirty with it. She was still in college at the time and her school doesn't allow the students to take off to act during the first two years so she could only film it during certain times and she was flying back and forth. If I remember correctly, the company had the copyright at the time and didn't want it to expire so pushed her to act that drama when she wasn't fully prepared for it. She also tried to lose weight but she was so stressed out that she ended up gaining weight instead. Wang Anyu is a good actor too actually but that drama f*cked them over lmao. The production also didn't put in effort for her outfits/make-up and I think in the latter half of the drama, the 2nd FL basically became the central focus instead too.

Li Landi is great! Comedy is actually so hard but she is so natural in it. She even said she didn't do comedy genres a lot when she was still a student in Central Academy of Drama so TSL was her first full-on comedy genre drama. She is just such a good actress.

Yup, it makes total sense. She is being exposed to better make-up techniques, ways to take care of her skin, etc. As her job is still within the industry, it makes sense that she is starting to change in that aspect for her professional life too. I like that there is a logical sequence to it. SCC is not relying on the bracelet to better her own looks but from her irl experiences which is more reliable than this bracelet which can malfunction anytime.

Could be it! I think those make-up items were from what the make-up artist used on her for the model shoot. It would be weird for him to have access to her own personal make-up stash especially since SM won't really use any since the bracelet applies the make-up for her.

Yeah, Douyin is a tough platform though since $ is needed to push up a video. I have seen the same videos from the same editor getting 10K+ on XHS while getting ~100 likes on Douyin. I am seeing the memes and fans are definitely putting the work in but you can tell the difference between promo push by fans and promo push by a company (non-fans would be able to scroll on social media and would see those videos).

Yes! Some of the serious moments got me giggling but then I am also feeling bad because it shouldn't be /funny/. I am laughing at posts from TJC fans on XHS too saying yes, continue to torture him because he looks good being tortured LMAO.

It will be interesting to see how he evolves too, I think he is a bit awkward when it comes to love too and doesn't fully understand how much is okay. I feel like even if SM made up other reasons like she is leaving abroad or getting married to someone else, he did be able to poke holes into it and even attempt to track her down. This man is a whole detective. 😭

Interesting how you can start to see SCC's change in clothes, make-up style, and hair style as her thoughts start to change too. The future teasers/MV for the OSTs spoiled a bit (plus the first scene in episode 1 which is set 3 months later) but wow, you can really see how these changes highlight/brings out her looks so much more.

His character ranking is within like top 3 on those character polls so he is doing fine. The drama reached 24,000 heat index on its 3rd day so pretty decent and has room to grow. If the drama can get close to 28,000 heat index, then it did be really good especially with the current lack of promo and no big push on social platforms.

He didn't see at first glance (aka the moment when she was holding the child with her back facing TQ). That was the moment he fell. But when she turned around, he then saw her face with the injury. It is like that split second of when he actually fell in love, was it when he didn't know how SM looked like (just by her action) or really only when SM turned around and he saw that SM was a beauty and fell in love.

Like it can be argued if say the person who turned around was way older and not a beauty, if TQ would have fell more or even asked her to be the model. That is where the murky water is and hard for some people to believe that it was /purely/ SM's action.

This is actually an interesting debate IMO because the truth is, we tend to apply more weight to a positive action of someone who is prettier by society standard. Even though TQ wanted to look for "ordinary models", his partner said okay so just anyone off the street? And TQ was like ... which implied well, no, it still has to be someone who is relatively charming/pretty. It is very human, and it is hard to truly separate the soul from outer appearance which I think this drama is trying to tackle and explore.

Tong Hua definitely likes Xiang Liu a lot and now TJC for her to have him act as ML in this drama. There are way too many connections, so it is like this drama was made just for Xiang Liu to give him a happier ending this time. It is funny because usually before a drama airs, people do tarot reading of how well a drama will do and there were some readings that said there were people jealous of this drama LOL (take with grain of salt).
