The trailer looks good, but I don't want to get excited, because there are way too many cases where the trailer is great and the actual series is bad ah.

Usually they post the subs individually. That means that you will have to also download the raw videos. However most subbers also post a link for the raws, so you can download them from there.

You can just create an account. It's free and many subbers upload their subs there.

Yes I know. The problem is that it is not available in my region and the series doesn't appear even with a VPN. So I used the link that Milisia posted (it is in the comment section) to watch the first 2 eps. However it is not working anymore. That's why I asked for another link.

I think it is based on a true story (but basically they have changed a lot of things to make the story more interesting for the watchers).

That's definitely true and many of the volunteers are working on many projects at a time. However, as a platform, Viki should do something to prevent such delays (generally and not on this specific series).

On the bright side, the translation of Being a Hero is very good, so waiting is the best choice!

The majority is (like 98%) and they are the ones that mostly translate. There are some paid ones though. Since the volunteers can't keep up, since the eps did not come pre subbed, Viki should have done something, but i don't think they care enough for that 🥲

True and that is Viki's fault. They have paid subbers, so they could just pay them to help in the subbing of this series. The volunteers are working hard, but I get it that they can't translate and segment so many episodes in the time they have. They have their own lives etc. so some days they may not sub at all.
Unlike other cdramas, this one didn't come pre-subbed, so the platform should have been prepared, especially since it was long awaited and they are even advertising it on their website now.
I will probably wait until a few more eps get subbed, until I continue with this.

I really liked the acting and the atmosphere of the series. Plot wise it was also quite good, even though there seem to be a lot of things that haven't been revealed yet.
It is generally a slow paced series, so have that in mind.
My huge problem is that it is frustrating to watch it on Youku. It is one of those series that you can appreciate best, if you watch it in HD due to the visual aspects that the series can offer. I am pretty sure that Youku's 720p resolution is definitely not 720p. It hurt my eyes.

I have put it on my on hold list now, but yeah it did. At least until episode 3 English subs where available the moment the episode got released.

I love how I still check the page of this series, even though it's been many years and the possibility for it to air gets lower every day.
