Great article! I think it is finally time to watch Her Love Boils Bathwater. I had it on my ptw list for ages and I didn't watch it, so I removed it, but I will definitely watch it now.

I am one of those people regarding this series at least. I generally don't have any problem with romance as long as it fits the storyline and it is not there just for the sake of romance.

About this series, I really don't want them to focus on it or make it a side story.
Obviously since it is an adaptation they must stay loyal to the original and also make some changes, because after all adaptations are also about creativity.

However, the original story deals with many sensitive subjects in a very delicate and symbolic way and there is no actual romance. There is like one scene and one mention of something that could barely be called romance (from what I remember at least). Trying to insert romance in this particular story will probably make it a disaster, if they want to convey the message of the manhwa. Firstly because there is no romance in the original, secondly because people tend to focus a lot on the romance missing other details of the story and lastly because they may decide to not add some elements of the original to have a romantic storyline.

Of course there could be a chance that they add very subtle romance in a way that does not ruin the main purpose, but if the synopsis is accurate it seems like your regular enemies to lovers trope.

Frankly I don't have high expectations anyway, because the manhwa's atmosphere relies mostly on the artwork and the symbolism, that can not be fully portrayed on screen, so I was hoping for an accurate portrayal of the story. However if they reduce the symbolic elements, while also adding an unnecessary romance plot line (which means changing the characters and the plot itself), it will be a very loose adaptation that will not have the same depth as the original.

I hope they have somehow managed to make this a masterpiece though, because the story is very beautiful and it should be watched by as many people as possible!

Yes, it definitely does imo. However if you have any triggers check the tags, because it is quite raw and disturbing at times.

They can't really do that, even if we would all like that. They want to gain as much money as possible from this and selling it to Netflix will do nothing, since the biggest part of the audience comes from China and they don't have Netflix there. As a result they will just watch it illegally one way or another so they will not lose a great amount of money. And censorship wise, the drama is already edited since it has gotten the green light, so that's also kind of impossible (the adding of the scenes they have cut). I don't even want to think what impact that may have to the actors, if it ever happened. We can just wait, hoping that there won't be any scandals and that it will be released as soon as possible...

I hope they upload it on YouTube then, even though they may not do it immediately!

I don't think it is that many episodes to begin with. If it really is, they may split it into two parts like what they did with the blue whisper. For the time being, I will stick to the news about the 24 episode format and hopefully it will be released soon and we will find out🤞

Yeah, I see. Pretty sure I have read from many sources there will be 24 eps, but I guess we will see. However, even if it is 61 eps, I don't think it is possible to air them at once, because, if I am not wrong, there is an episode count restriction. Hopefully we will find out soon.
