Thanks for the answer! A family member spotted the movie on Netflix and they want to watch it and the other one is not available with subs. I hope it is not completely incomprehensible to watch. Or I may watch the prequel alone and explain lol.

Well, I don't think anything will happen, even if they do. They can just not watch it, but it is a netflix original so it can't get cancelled.

A good drama doesn't need many episodes. For me, it is a good choice that it is only 12 eps, since most dramas with more episodes get draggy. Besides it is based on a book, so maybe the book has enough material for only 12 eps.

It is about how the law deals with minors in general. There are multiple cases in the series, in some minors are the "victims" in others they are the perpetrators. Generally though, if they do something wrong no matter the reason they get punished. It is not justifying anything or anyone. But everything is done taking into consideration the law. I think you should give it a chance.

Not really. Like it is mentioned in the synopsis this is based on a non fiction book. There are multiple cases throughout the series and it is not really detective vs serial killer. It focuses more on the investigation and how they try to make the profiles of the criminals and generally how they are treated by the rest of the police force, how they gather evidence etc. I wouldn't really say there is bromance, just a good partnership between the people in the team and it is not really the focus. They are mostly focusing on the profiling, which is something that I personally haven't seen much in kdramas in that extent. It also takes place quite a few years ago and it is definitely interesting, since, like I mentioned, it is based on a real person. I think you should give it a chance.

I get it, pretty interesting. I actually never saw it that way to tell the truth. I believe that they may keep it, if they find it important or if they want to focus on that aspect, because Korea is much more conservative in that matter comparing to many European countries. I mean there is no ban or something, and it is a remake. For the time being, I just hope it will be a decent remake.

Not necessarily. Korean productions are adding more lgbtq+ characters on their series lately. Besides that, they weren't a main plot point in the original either, especially in the first two seasons. I feel (and I hope) that they will focus on the plot of the first two seasons and make it a bit different comparing to the original.
