Come on, give us the trailer as a present.
Stop keeping it a secret π
I can't do this anymore π
Like another comment below said, I'd be completely okay with her character, if the actress portraying her looked like an actual young child, around 10-12 years old. She looks in her early teens and back then women that age could even have their own family and children.
That is what frustrated me the most. It feels highly unrealistic that everyone calls her a child when she looks quite old to be a totally defenseless person for that time period.
Futaba like many has no other choice but to participate. I don't find her so much brave, but mostly ignorant. She seems to not fully grasp the danger around her and she doesn't seem to understand how some things work.
If she was determined and brave, she would try to at least fight when she SHOULD, not caring that she could die. She would protect herself, but instead she freezes and waits for others to save her again and again. She had Iroha holding her and running. She has the ML protecting her after she asked him to, knowing full well he could die.
She acts only in situations that she shouldn't act.
It's like she cares more for others and not so much about herself.
That would be admirable if she was Iroha or another capable character.
But she's weak for such a game (it's like entering an archery competition without having held a bow before).
So when she tries to help others, she ends up being a burden to them. Something that became pretty evident in the last two eps that she tried to "stop" the "butcher man" for no reason at all and he ended up almost slashing her throat. She's be dead, if she didn't have the typical "plot armor". After all, that man had killed half the cast in the previous eps.
I am tired with characters like hers at this point. I feel they are very repetitive in multiple series. She is the typical weak, kind hearted FL, that tries to help but instead creates more problems for the people around her.
And for some reason, the characters are fine with it. She's part of a death game, and she chose to save someone that is weak. And I would be fine with that if Iroha did it for example, cause she earned her points. But she didn't. She's alive because of the rest of the characters and she basically saves people using someone elses hard work. And the whole "I will not be able to see my family if I didn't save someone when I could etc" is bullshit in my book. This is a death game and they killed tons of people already anyways.
I truly wish and I believe I will like her more IF there is a S2. Maybe there will be a plot twist and will be an important person, who knows, but for the time being I felt that her character was mostly a plot tool to make some things move forward.
I respect your opinion and I am glad you enjoyed her in this series. I am probably fully done with such characters at this point that they get me pretty annoyed even if they are not truly bad.
Ending with this funny tiktok video: https://www.tiktok.com/@lowkey_jon/video/7573114737483943198?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc&web_id=7568942244268606998
That would solve all of my problems with her character.
I was very bothered that everyone called her a child. Even though Iroha's actress is older, supposedly in the series she learned how to fight from a very young age (since she became an orphan), so Futaba being incapable of doing anything bothered me very much.
I think I may have not been as bothered, if this was a modern drama. But back then, women her age could even have their own children.
I have tons of problems with her character in general, but truly if they just casted an actress that was much younger than her, it would make much more sense.
I personally wouldn't say she has determination nor perserverance. At least. I feel that mostly she wants to believe that she has.
But I'd like to listen to your opinion as to why you'd characterize her like that.
I hate them even more when they don't understand the situation they are in.
I need a trailer to satisfy my hunger.
The pure disappointment when there's nothing π
