I also think they were quite problematic, but they never gave me vibes that they would get a divorce. I mean since they stayed together after the pedo incedent, the only thing that would probably make them get a divorce would be if Mashiro got seriously hurt or died.
I disagree. I feel she would divorce him if he hated his guts for what happened to Mashiro.
Imo Daigo is a very fucked up character. He is very violent something that his daughter mentions in her essay and even though he cares for his family, it feels like many times he puts his adrenaline rush and his will to find out the truth first.
He leaves his family in other people's hands more than once and it is even stated at some point that he went to that village to investigate the case. He is very selfish and he enjoys the feeling he gets when being in some pretty terrifying situations.
Honestly, I think their reaction was realistic. They froze and I mean when you see a monster it is probably even worse if you decide to run. Where would they even go? And before that they were basically kidnapped by some lunatics that threatened to kill them like 3 minutes before what happened.
I get her reaction too. A monster that eats people took her daughter. And they basically ended up in that situation cause her husband wanted to solve a case and put himself and others first instead of his family. If he was rational he would leave the first day when everyone "joked" by raising their guns at him. He wasn't really forced to go there nor stay. But he decided to stay knowing full well those people are not really rational.
They are both quite problematic and I also think they would be better off apart, but because of what I have seen happening between them, I could not think they would actually think to take a divorce.
I agree about that, but I couldn't really imagine them getting a divorce. The only thing I expected was for Mashiro to speak.
Same. I truly hope we get to see it soon though, at least during May and not wait for ages.
I don't think international fans can reserve it yet or at least I can't find how to do it.
There are a few things imo that make Baek Jin more likable.
-> Beom Seok was their friend while Baek Jin was the big bad wolf from the get go:
Even though Beom Seok had a depressing past -bullied constantly and abused by his father- we got to know that kind personality of his in the beginning of the drama. He bacame friends with Si Eun and Su Ho and he helped as much as he could taking into consideration he couldn't fight. The thing is that what he did felt like a huge betrayal. He suddenly started hunging out with people that basically bullied him and he turned against his friends. Even though I understand he dealt with a lot of things mentally-wise and he was very unstable, not only he turned his back on them, but he ended up hurting them irreparably cause of his ego.
On the other hand, even though we got a few flashbacks of the friendship between Baek Jin and Baku, for us viewers Baek Jin was the bad guy from the get go. It didn't feel like he betrayed his friend cause we never saw many interactions between them.
-> Beom Seok was a coward
Even though Baek Jin was in the Union and he had lackeys, he did dirty his hands a lot. He told Baku he wanted him in the Union, he told him to steal that motorbike...
The final battle was between him and Baku. He didn't make someone else fight in his place cause he couldn't handle the situation. He didn't have his friends help. Baku was an equal to him.
On the other hand, Beok Seok was mostly sneaky with his actions cause he felt useless and powerless. -Baek Jin also did some sneaky things but he owned up to his actions-. He never really did anything by himself. He made other people work for him. He paid that guy to beat Su Ho. He couldn't fight him himself (for obvious reasons). He was also being unfair. Baek Jin fought fair and square with Baku while Beom Seok kicked his ex-friend when he was basically unconscious.
Even during Baku's and Baek Jin's fight there were times when they "rested" or waited for the other to stand. They didn't repeteadly attack (same tiktok scene as below)
-> I think it was also because of a scene or two.
For example during Su Ho's fight Beom Seok started kicking him after he was basically uncoscious, which was a coward move. He took out his self-esteem problem on Su Ho. Baek Jin fought fair and square with Baku and with Si Eun. He didn't hide behind anyone powerful. Then it was also the reactions. Beom Seok reacted only after he thought Su Ho was dead. Baek Jin though, it was obvious he cared about Baku during their fight. There was this one scene that he looked sad fighting him.

I mean even though Baek Jin wanted Baku in the Union to ruin him, it was something that would also benefit him financially and the Union. But having Su Ho being beaten up had no purpose. Beom Seok just wanted to punish him cause he was feeling left out and ignored by him.
This is the reason why Beom Seok is also kinder to Si Eun. He feels that Si Eun understands him much better and was kinder to him, but the 0 attention he was getting from Su Ho and how that made him feel (because of his mental health issues) led him to go to extremes. That is why he used Youngyi, cause he thought that she was important for Su Ho. I have heard people saying that he also had feelings for him, which I would also understand.
-> Punishment
Another reason is that Baek Jin got punished. He did end up losing his life, but that's not the only thing. Baek Jin was playing with the fire constantly. He was part of the Union and he could get killed anytime and lose what he had achieved academic wise.
Beom Seok on the other hand, even though he was abused by his dad, he ended up changing countries. He got away even if it was like that and he didn't get punished at all for what he did.
(We also got to see the nice side of Baek Jin that he lended money in oprhanages. That nice side of him was when he was already in the Union. It was part of his character. Beom Seok was kind but after what happened there was nothing good left in him)
All in all, I think that even though both characters were similar -both thinking and actions wise-, Baek Jin felt like a powerful character that owned up to his actions, while Beom Seok felt more like a coward that betrayed his friends.
They didn't have to put that scene after credits if they are not even thinking of a third season. They could have somehow added it naturally as part of the main ending.
Netflix bought the rights, so financially speaking if it does well they will make another season. It wasn't even their original series. They prepared and bought a series from three years ago. There's no way they are not planning another season.
From a pure viewer pov, I liked it. The fighting scenes look awesome and it generally looks good. Ngl though, after FoF expectations were very high looks wise, so I will say that this one looks a bit "cheaper" but in general I am still way too excited about it and we better truly watch it on May!
They look and are different!
Yes! We did get that trailer and posters! So it will probably really air on May!
