I'm not 100% sure.
Cdramas were usually around 45 minutes, but I think that when they announced the limitation they mentioned that even though eps should not exceed 40, they can also be 1 hour long. However, there are some dramas that are longer but are from a few years ago. For example, My Journey to You has multiple eps that are over one hour, but it was released in 2023. I don't know if anything has changed now. They can certainly be one hour long, but I'm not sure if they can exceed that.

Not really, with the 40 ep limitation some dramas just make their eps longer.

No idea how many the eps were in the beginning, but even if they were 40, the cuts won't be too noticeable with 32 especially if they just cut some side stories. That aside, maybe the eps are just longer in duration.

This one I think was basically banned cause it was "spreading misinformation about an actual historical figure". If they air it we may have a chance. I mean danmei adaptations used to air just fine so I'm hoping that stupid ban actually ends (cause I can't wait anymore 😁🔪)

It can be because of Li Ming De's scandal.
In general they tend not to promote that much when an actor has been caught up in a scandal. Doesn't really matter if he got "deleted".

That aside, they usually promote quite a lot before something airs, so it could also be that this series will not air that soon. So they either don't plan to promote cause of the scandal and they'll air drop it or they haven't start promotions cause it's not gonna air soon.

I'm pretty sure that S2 will be exclusive to netflix since they produced it, but S1 is available on lots of platforms

There was movement about The Fated General drama that was filmed about 8 years ago, so I'm having hope now!

I have high hopes for the April-May period. I don't think they would air it during summer, so I hope they don't delay it much longer.

I generally prefer sad/bittersweet ending since they "fit" more with most period dramas, but I get where you're coming from.

Taking into consideration this is not based on an original script but on a novel and there seems to also be two other directors that will have probably helped with the script besides GJM, this one could potentially have a happy ending.

Meanwhile I don't really consider his endings that sad. More bittersweet.

I think it'll depend on the book, but taking into consideration the theme I doubt it'll have a happy happy ending.

They'll have to air it at some point though. If they don't air it until early May it will get delayed a lot cause during summer all platforms will probably play their strong cards.
