man i wish they kept it in a fantasy victorian era like the manhwa instead of joseon :(
I mean I get you but honestly it would’ve looked out of place if they hadn’t made that change... Adjusting things like that is kind of inevitable in a live-action adaptation. Plus, Korea has its own history and traditions when it comes to royalty and nobility, so setting it that way probably feels more natural for local viewers and easier for the actors to get into it too. Recreating a full Victorian era setting in Korea would’ve been a lot more challenging for the production team as well. So personally, I don’t really mind the change and I’d love to see even more of my favorite isekai manhwa get adapted! >< Maybe in an animated version, we could get to watch a closer adaptation in terms of the characters and era setting. It's just that Korean isn't all that active in that department but maybe countries like Japan and China could buy them and make anime/donghua of some well known Isekai^^
I'm never gonna understand how some Kdrama fans' brain works. Imagine saying 7.8 rating is low. Like, you failed…
Most people’s brains can easily grasp that on a 1-10 scale, a 7.8 is generally considered a decent score. I get what you're trying to say here, however this is a score on MDL and it's undeniable that this is considered low for MDL standards... As someone who’s been immersed in Dramaland and MDL for a while now, I can tell you for MDL a score above 8 is considered "good" and anything above 9 is seen as "excellent." Of course, in recent years, due to actor fandoms (was news to me when I first found out lol) and bot acc activity that system has become a bit skewed, with some dramas getting inflated ratings while others not getting the score they deserve. So yeah MDL ratings are most often not subjective and they have their own scoring system.
Still, my personal rule and advice to everyone is: never judge a drama by its score/comments alone and actually give it a try by watching 1-2 eps if you find the synopsis interesting! That's the best way to know if a show is for you or not!
After cdramas like TPOB and LOZ this is definitely the type of cdrama I was looking for~ Something sweet, entertaining and less complicated to unwind! So far, I am thoroughly enjoying this! ^^
why is this titled Oh My Ghost Clients, is it somehow connected or a sequel to that other series by Park Bo Young…
It's titled that way because it aligns well with the main plot of the series, which revolves around ghosts and a labor attorney who tries to help those who died unjustly. And no there is zero connection between the two dramas they happen to share similar titles...Which it's not such a rare occurrence in dramaland honestly lol
For anyone else who felt a certain type of void after finishing this and wanted to check other dramas with a similar premise and episodic format like this one. I would recommend these dramas I've found over the last few years: Extraordinary Attorney Woo (2022), May I Help You? (2022), Oh No! Here Comes Trouble (2023) and Oh My Ghost Clients (Currently watching and seems promising). I am writing this post now because back then, when I completed this years ago, I was wishing for other shows like this one desperately...So I hope it helps at least some others to move on. With all that being said, I would be the happiest if we were to ever get an S2 of this drama! It's one of the few shows that managed to make me cry almost in every episode.
I just finished watching the first 2 episodes and so far, I’m really enjoying this! It actually reminds me a bit of one of my fave Kdramas Move to Heaven, a show I always hoped would get a 2nd season, but sadly never did. If this drama keeps picking up, it might just be the one to fill that void for me!
So, do we have any information about when this drama will air? Also, will there be any int platforms like Viki or maybe Wetv subbing this? Cause as far as I can remember Mangotv subs are kinda the worst...
I feel the same. Prisoner of beauty ended. This ended. Youthful Glory also. I believe a few new ones are coming…
I see, thanks! As long as the plot is logical and the production decent, I don't mind a cdrama with bubbly/romantic tone! I guess I will give it a try one of these days and see~
His first master couldn't help but commit suicide and burn when Zhang Hai left for the capital, cause his role…
Xing Dou master was saved by Zhao from his death sentence, remember? With the purpose to become Zhinu's master, which extended his life by 10 years, so I guess that's why he said thank you in the end.
There was something about him really stood out the instant he appeared. Some actors have this on-screen presence,…
Our Duke Su looks quite mature compared to his age that we really forget he is a baby haha Meanwhile, Quan Yilun seems to have a baby face lol That's why these two got us mixing them up ><
How do we know his Master wasn't faking it at the end?
Oh common we are all humans and even the most deceptive and twisted people have weak spots. His was Zhang Hai whom he raised like a son. Also, it's certain he didn't fake it because it was obv someone like Zhao would poison him after dealing with ZH to cut loose ends and the way they shot the scene with the drinks in the dungeon, I knew it was probably laced with smth and so did Master Gao most definitely...
