I think based on the photos of The blessing ceremony, LYX actually have makeup on to highly how frail his face look, sickly and malnourished lol, which is exactly how the book describe him. In the book, doesn’t matter whether he’s a hostage prince, the king or a fairy, or the devil king, he always described as thin, frail body with sickly looking face even though that face is outrageously handsome

Who here wanna bet people’s number 1 complaint against LYX will be hes too sickly looking in this drama, not knowing it’s intended to be 🤣

Yes, they did have it whenever the 15th of every 3mo comes, however, it was then shorten to every 2 months. But I think there were only maybe 3 max for those 15th. It’s more because his personality is that of a psychopath, and psychopath doesn’t get turn on the normal way, her “always never surrender to him” is attractive to him. But as you read it, his arousal to her is more and more like he just couldn’t stop himself falling in love with her. He just had too many bitters in his life, and apparently he has always thought she loves XL. It never occur to him that she loves him. It’s only at the moment she die that he started to realise what she did, and that was only a small part. And only after the swapping of the bones, that he’s no longer a psychopath lol. And only as they fight the evil 500yrs later that he realised so much of what he did scarred her so much that it is kinda understandable why she wanted nothing to do with him.
The book is about how 2 ppls loves each other, try to fulfill their responsibilities to the greater good and forgo their own happiness and yet can’t help loving the other, and give in at certain times but by and large they do what their fairy/god roles meant to be, so the righteous thing

They kinda don’t but kinda do get together. Their relationship is rather toxic? But it’s the right kind of toxic lol, consider the set up for TTJ’s character. In the book, they will get together by the end lol. But it was worth it

In chapter 40, the 4 entered the dream and assumed 4 main characters of that past story, with TTJ take up the dragon, LSS the clam princess, YBC the dragon’s thought to be love interest (turn out not), and XL the wolf. It was such a good story! Can’t wait for this part to be adapted lol

Omg, the book is kinda long and complicated that it took me like 5 days of constant reading and barely any sleep and they want to do this in 40eps? Lol. I don’t see how this is possible >_

While the analogy is a bit strong, but the saying if so and so is happy in a relationship, and therefore nothing is wrong, and we as an audience should accept it is also plain wrong. Also you use or see my analogy in the worst way possible, you can identify yourself with ShiYi but that does not mean you cant see domestic violence. I never associate ShiYi the character as a domestic abused person. Rather I associate ppl being blind by love and not able to see certain not great thing. I also associate the argument if the people in the relationship is happy with their relationship ship then we as the audiences should not complain.
But in the end, i hope people recognised these characters are characters. The flaws are there, yet people are trying to make the characters perfect and can do no wrong .

It’s a nice story, and you will be mostly happy until about 15/16. I was still smiling stupidly whenever they are onscreen pre15, but after 10mins of 16, I have decided to wait until it all comes out to lessen my annoyance lol. Like I want to love it more, but it made me kinda not care for how it going from waiting and waiting every day since OnO, from repeating Ly rewatch BTS of OnO to basically ignoring suggestion of BTS of FAE 😒

Yup, love is blind. If ShiYi got beaten up and she’s happy about it, then we as audiences should just take it as it is. After all, why care if the insider is ok, right?

Also, everyone has glossed over the fact that ZSC is ok holding her hands in front of her Co-workers (D Wang and a bunch of newly recruits), and then let go as soon as D Wang is not in the picture because there is now too many strangers. ShiYi didn’t see it, she believes in ZSC’s words (which is not lying btw), but it shows as a character, ZSC can be not shy when needed to show his ownership of her.

Now you can call this bad writing but it does eek a few of us.

Yup, you said it very well, they whitewash (good wash) ZSC lol. He can’t be profiting from criminal activitie, he can’t be show cruel, he can’t be show cold and controlling.

And you nailed what many people just see it as “demand for kiss scenes”, we want to see the growth in their relationship, being comfortable with each other’s presences is what show us they have truly become a couple

I know about those clues but I’m not talking about them. Im talking about the fact that when he read those poems, that bond is visible, it’s the entanglement between the two of them. To him, who doesn’t remember her but these loves for old poems and traditions somehow bind him so strongly. That bond lol. Also for him who is too shy to say loving words, the poems help him expressing himself to her.
