I was puzzled too. After the bed scene, I thought it would be the start of being much comfortable to each other.…
And this is a classic example of how being super nice and considerate create lame and frustrating situation lol. If I was the Gf, I would be frustrated and tell him that’s not exactly what I want lol. And not rectify this just frustrating the audiences and don’t give ML any favourable points
People calling allen ren as unprofessional....like dude he didn’t came on set and suddenly announced that I'm…
Yes and no. Unlike a normal arranged marriage, these two likes each other at the start, and with one loves the other a lot more than just your average passerby bf, while the other knows she loves/likes him a lot. You could say their marriage makes any traditional boundaries go away so they can fully love each other, they can kiss and hug, etc, and no one can say anything because it’s his wife/her husband. Moreover, no one has problem with the initial awkwardness between the two of them, the problem arises after they consummate the wedding, and yet still awkward. After such intimate act, you should be able to see a much more relax kind of couple/husband and wife treatments, but nope, hence why most are annoyed lol.
I agree completely that whatever is missing in F&E should definitely not be blamed entirely on RJL and his personal…
But that’s their bond, all these old poems, tea making, calligraphy are what created that bond together. The fact that they are two different people, with different personality yet deeply in love with traditional old stuffs, make it charming. Plus these is what bring the audiences back to their previous life together. Just sad really 😞
I watched one and only mainly because of bailu and later i really liked her chemistry with allen. Had huge expectation…
That was my problem as well. Fair enough they can’t do intimate scenes like in the novel, but what’s the reason for him to act like that after consummating their relationship? I was 🤦♀️😑😡 when he left go of her hand the morning after because there’s too many strangers but ok to hold her hands to show off to D Wang that he has her???? What is the logic in this but a slap to their supposed pure love
But do you show affectionate to your partner in private? Do you kiss her whenever you want or do you pause awkwardly…
If you and your partner are both reserve, that’s normal. However ShiYi isn’t? I could be wrong but she’s the type that reserve in public but quite expressive in private: hugs and kisses openly when the door is closed. So if your partner wants those intimacies, do you continue to be awkward about it lol?
I agree completely that whatever is missing in F&E should definitely not be blamed entirely on RJL and his personal…
Yea I don’t know how much MBFB has on writing this script, because in the novel, so much of heir talk is old poems, and it seems they kinda stop doing that after certain episodes. But I guess you can’t continue when that talk has now translate into bedroom talk and “dirty” (suggestive) poem lawl. As in when we don’t do those intimate scenes, a huge chunk of those are missing 😂
I watched until ep22 already, yeay..it feels a bit lacking it the romance parts. Don't get me wrong, i'm ok with…
I think the main thing lost that many people don’t understand when they haven’t read the novel is the novel ZSC is trying to improve himself, he knows his partner like to be more affectionate, so he’s more affectionate. It shows how great of an influence ShiYi is to him. Which the drama is a bit lacking, again, we see no grow in ZSC
Based on the novel, it’s about ShiYi’s unwavering love and support for ZSC. The guy kept her in the dark 95% of the time, but she still trust, love and completely staying by his side. There’s a turmoil inside ZSC, as he’s lying to her (not telling her the truths), he loves her and want to be truthful with her, but he’s afraid telling her will scare her off and make her run away. And that’s why he find it super attractive when she focus on making sure the temperature of the aircon is right for him. But all of that is lost when they whitewash ZSC and theres no deep intimate scenes to show the yearning. Also remember how in OnO, he would go months on end and she would wait and wait? Same thing happens in the novel, but again, they kinda cut it short lol. Not going to mark this one as spoiler as it’s about the novel and not the drama
Allen Ren unprofesionalism is the let down to me! He should not accept romance drama. He don't have commitment…
The novel’s romance is good but the family drama wise is actually pretty weak, too. The novel is hot because it shows how ZSC from being aloof to super passionate lol (thanks to their hot scenes together in the novel lol), but since we don’t even have that, it’s bland
I miss those days when our comment section was mostly in sync with so much positive energy. When did it go wrong?…
What you ask for is an echo chamber, not healthy. As long as everyone shows good arguments, good criticism, all are valid. It is when people try takeaway someone’s responsibility, arguing that it’s not his fault when it kinda is, then you promoting a culture of worshiping an idol and he can’t do no wrong. It’s also sad to see the comment section has to skew one way or another to keep it happy for the masses. The drama is doing well in China, however, I’m sad it’s doing well for the wrong reasons.
Allen did not have many drama until after under power was broadcasted….when he played glory of tang he got popular…
Uhm, let’s never compare anyone to Kris Wu, even before the revelation of his crimes, he was never never a decent actor, or singer, dude doesn’t even look good in many people’s eyes.
Second, as much as he’s a gorgeous human being for doing everything in his power to protect his family, he is still in this industry for money. And you can’t just blame the director and the writer, it’s the shareholder who call the shot on who’s the main lead, they tend to pick high traffic male lead, the director and the writer don’t get to choose really. And it takes 2 to tango, Allen could have say no, too but he didn’t. To him, he get paid, and he has it written in the contract so he’s protected. Everything else is not his problem, of course, he needs to act well to keep the script flying in, but a few throwaway drama here and there is not detrimental. Like he can have 1 good drama and one bad drama, and he will guarantee offers coming for the years ahead. Look at Zhang Shuang, her acting is terrible but she still get to make one drama a year with super high fee, up until her recent scandal.
I really believe that if the actors had filmed OaO first, they would have been able to portray their characters…
Possibly. And part of me feel like Allen would have noticed how good of a script this is and plan with his wife and break his contract for this drama. It’s a pity but hey, the man is on the rise and people seems to worship him 🤷♀️
I understand both sides, I absolutely want more KISS scenes...I dont care if the use the double for those scenes…
Lol, Uhm no. Let’s me just start by saying: in my mind, Allen ren is what ZSC embodied, a beautiful bone. He’s a wonderful human being, what he’s done and still doing to protect his wife and family is beautiful. However, he should not do romantic drama lol. Now onto the second part, it’s not unfair to BL because she’s an actor and it’s her job to kiss anyone? That’s just degrading. Her job is to show chemistry with her onscreen partner, and not to kiss a random just because her onscreen partner couldn’t. Also how would you feel if you have to share a job with a partner, and then the partner is like oh I can’t do that, you have to do it with this other guy, and I’ll take the credit for the job you’ve done with this other guy. Oh make it look good, too, so it really shine my name.
This problem is why so many young actors these days can’t act, don’t work hard, because there’s body double for everything 😒
