Love takes time, and ZSC doesn’t have the time to wait, and since ShiYi doesn’t want to lose the chance of being with him, she just knew she would regret it for life if she didn’t give her best (in drama, not novel), and because he kinda gave her an ultimatum (well, you would kind feel you obligated to) that he would withdraw from her life forever (he doesn’t want to, but again, he feels it’s a gentleman thing to do, plus he isn’t mucking (you date someone to marry them, if you can’t see yourself marry that person, why date and waste their time?).
I hate and loathed when FL has to go through screening of stupid dumb people. ML should clean her feet with water…
Uhm I think you are missing the point. In the book, ShiYi literally in the dark all the time, 90% of the time, ZSC didn’t tell her the truth, or say I can’t tell you, or you have to wait. Yet she waited and she always trust and believe him, which is the most important point of the novel: she would love and trust him completely, without any doubt, she never has doubts, which is a very hard thing to do.
And this make ZSC loves her so much, part of the reasons why he doesn’t tell her the truth is because he’s afraid she would run away. He could never believe his luck that not only she never did, she also never doubted him, and always by his side. It’ll get to that point and it’ll be super sweet
After watching OaO, no one would dare complain how fast they are progressing here (≧∀≦)

Can I just say how clever they are about this whole reincarnation thing 🤣 we have tone and only running inside forever and ever as a drama, ShiYi dreamed of Chang’an because she’s such a daydreamer, absorbed herself in old books/romantic stuffs 🤣 also notice how things are the same but not the same! Genius stroke lol. The temple is same name but not the same temple (built in different time). ZSC’s house look exactly like Xiao NanCheng palace, but more modern, and not entirely looking the same (obviously different time make it look different). The palace gate ShiYi visited look like the one she jumped off, but again, different feel. ShiYi while wear the same outfit, different hairstyles and makeup, the emotions are different as well, but you can see the sad happiness on her face as she jumps, and her jump style is also different. LOL, they are really going out of their way to make it same same but different 👏 👏
