Yes, the novel is very dark. I absolutely love it. book TTJ is not someone for you to love, that’s what make LSS always rescuing him, helping him and love him something different and unique. Book TTJ meant to be someone that ppl despite, while only LSS can love him, understand his feeling and pity him.
Because I read the book first, it’s not a problem for me. But if you love the drama, the book might shock you lol

Lawl, that bird scene, pretty sure to this day, I still haven’t forgiven that drama for that bird scene yet! Initially, I was ok with DB and WL’s chemistry in TLB. Her chemistry with other ML is rather a delicate silk, sometimes you will see it shiny and pearly, and sometimes you can’t feel it (because it’s too thin). My main problem with WL is his keeping that face, with his lips light protruding (?), his facial slightly tightened, very serious (and lol, yes, angry bird type). I think there is a school of thoughts that certain events can’t be changed in history, doesn’t matter how many times you go back in time. Or more, if you don’t understand clearly what cause such event to occur, your way of fixing it might not be the right way. For example: Zhang’s mother’s passing. If JXN has figured out his mom passing is because she was concerned for her son, and any event would lead her to do this, then every time, ZZ is in trouble, JXN will need to be by his mother’s side to make sure she doesn’t do anything stupid.
