Yup that was putting me off big time too. I am only on episode 14 so hopefully they’ve kept her a sane character even afterwards

I asked the same question earlier on because she was annoying at the start for several episodes. She has progressed as a character. She no longer fawns over Lu Lingfeng all the time but is actively helping solve cases. So I definitely think she’s become more of an interesting and believable character now.

I started out not caring too much for her character. I found her rather simplistic in the way she was written. However, I’ve warmed up to her more now. She’s showing her intelligence and she’s become a part of the crew. I like the whole team.

Really enjoying this show so far. 11 episodes in and it’s very engaging and the characters are interesting. For those of you that have watched ahead, does it remain just as interesting?

I am really enjoying this show, but someone tell me, does the female lead (Xijun) remain this one note character looking for her fiance, or does she have something else interesting about her character? She was described as intelligent, but I don't see it so far 5 episodes in

You don’t need to watch Part 1 to watch Part 2 and vice versa. It’s kind of like that they’re set in the same universe, but characters are different. There are a few references to NIF 1 in NIF 2, but not to the extent where you won’t understand what’s happening.

I rolled my eyes sooooo many times reading your posts. It’s one thing to not like a show but you’re basically a ZLS anti. What promiscuity are you talking about and you definitely didn’t watch the show. Seriously- go spew your hatred elsewhere. This is getting tiresome

It starts to change after episode 15 and that’s when it really takes off. For me, ep 15 was the turning point. Until then I didn’t really have much of an opinion about it. And by ep 26, it really becomes incredible. It’s got a slow start and it feels like these initial episodes are wasting your time. But they’re not- you’ll see that they form the basis of your attachment to characters and places later on. I would recommend giving it a shot at least until ep 16 and seeing how you feel about it.

I think it’s implied that they will make up at some point. I mean they do share a nephew and although Lotus Pier is no longer Wei Ying’s home and things between Jiang Cheng and him will never be the same since they’ve both lost too much, there’s still a lot of love between the two.

No clue why 🤔. But then MDL tags sometimes are a bit all over the place. Like xianxia is listed as both wuxia and xianxia 🤷‍♀️

That’s a hard question to answer. I thought the story got much better towards the middle of the show - somewhere around episodes 23ish to 40 something. The first 20 or so episodes were kinda very slow

Chu Qiao ia far too cool for either Yuwen Yue or Yan Xun. She’s better than both of them and the best thing would have been for her not to have been romantically involved with either of them. Unpopular opinion here

He’s so adorable here. If anything, you’ll appreciate him more after watching him here

It is wuxia. Although it’s not set in the martial arts world (jianghu), there are plenty of allusions to it. There are a lot of wuxia kind of fights. Poisons and illnesses are also a bit more fantastical. So it’s not a non fantastical historical drama. It has fantasy elements
