I think writers like to have tragic endings because it's more poetic. People tend to remember those endings more than the happy ones.

Beauty is in the beholder of the eye but he is the most handsome out of all the leads in LYF for me. I think it's his beauty that makes people like the character even more. He has this regal look and his height just made him even more attractive. He made the character seemed so wholesome and sweet. He looks more boyish in person and it's cool to see the contrast as he's nothing like Jing. lol I can't stand netizens at times because they're bashing him because his character ends up with the girl. TJC was already a professional dancer and singer before this so i hope people will stop comparing them. Why can't we just enjoy the art huh..lol

People keep calling Jing weak but each character has their own flaws and being kind is his weakness. If he was made to be so perfect, the other characters wouldn't even be in the picture. He was trying to use his kindness to turn his brother around. A brother who was like a father to him all those years. They're all messed up in their own ways and XY is the same. She also said herself that she is selfish. She's basically weighing her options between the two men even though she made the promise to Jing. She even tried to kiss Jing while thinking about XL so in a way she's using him at times. Jing knew so he didn't reciprocate the first kiss they had together. After the abuse, Jing was never like before. He felt less of himself and doesn't see that he deserves XY. If he was the person he was before, I don't think he would have love her as deep.

No you're not the only one. lol YaoJing shippers try to avoid the comments section because we got tire of people calling him weak or indecisive. As if he can just get up and abandon everything to be with XY. He also didn't want to hurt YY reputation so he was trying to find the best method to end it. Jing is kind but his family is his weakness. Just like the other guys, they all have character flaws. That doesn't make him any less deserving of her love. In fact, he was the one always giving his all to her.

They botched up that scene with Jing. In the novel, the formation was a trap to burn XY so it was very hard to get out. So the fire was already raging and it's not Jing. He could escape using his powers but that would mean he had to leave her behind. He chose to stay with her and used up his powers to keep her body intact.

All three of them saved her. If it wasn't for Jing preserving her body first, she wouldn't even had the chance to survive. IDK why people would blame XY because at this point only one guy confessed to her. If he would made the confession, things would probably be different. How is no future not a strong argument? They both knows that XL will always choose the army and they even said in the earlier episodes so that was why both chose to stay silent. You expect her to go against her brother? To her CX will always be first and none of the other guys would even matter.

I find that it fits XY's character more because she chose Jing. She's not someone who just go with her heart and leave everyone in a bind. She loves both men in different ways but she has to choose the one that will her give her a better future. She even stated that sentiments in the earlier episodes. If she would run off to XL, there's no future for them. Either they both died or she live in agony forever. Would that be any better? The ending that novel gave is more fitting.

This is only season 1. Season 2 will be about CX's rise. It was meant to show both of their life stories. XY's path to find her own happiness and CX's struggles. Even though he loved her, he was never hers.

Cut him some slack, that boy probably in more pain than anybody else because people plotted and corner him into that marriage. lol The scene when they met again after her wedding with Feng Long breaks my heart. If she didn't find out about what happened then he would have probably died of heartbreak.

XY had some feelings for Jing even earlier than that. She got jealous when YY appeared earlier on the episodes. It was never as deep as what Jing felt for her but she didn't just like him out of pity. XY even stated herself that she's hard on herself and would only pick the best choice. It's not uncommon to love two people at once and I like that she's more of the logical type. I don't understand why people keep saying that she doesn't love Jing as deep when she was always the one initiating their intimacies. She held his hand first and kiss him twice before he did. XY is not the type to force herself to be with someone she's not completely in love with. Her love for both men are different in so many levels but she does love Jing dearly as well. She was depressed for many years after their break-up and wasn't able to sleep or eat.

I think DW is the least potential candidate. People even said that he's quite an introvert outside and it showed. He's so different from his persona onscreen. Like a bad boy vibe, which I don't think she's into. lol They seems like good co-workers but I don't think there's any romantic sentiments. If anything, Liu Xue Yi is more likely than anybody else. They been friends for so long.

You're so spot on. People failed to see that Jing was trying to protect YY as this will hurt her reputation. He is so kind hearted to everyone and it's such rare character. If only he would just run away but he can't . His clan and grandma is just too much at times though. I wish they could just passed down to Hou and he could be with XY but that wouldn't work either as she's the princess now. Their predicament was pretty hard to solve so that's why it's taking him longer. Sadly, it'll be more heartache for the lovebirds until next season.

hey guys, can someone explain to me how time works for them in this drama? I feel like they're doing a terrible time in showing us how much time had passed. They're not human so what is a year to them?

I feel like the drama is doing a terrible in highlighting how long has passed. Plus, it's confusing how time is calculated as they're not human. At the end of the novel they said like it would have been 70 years from the time she made the promise to Jing and when they finally got married.

I wonder how they will display that interpretation in the drama. XL's character is so tragic. I wish she knew what he did her for. He should have at least said good bye to her and said all of things he wanted to say.

XY thought he died and she found out what CX did so she committed suicide along with CX. Though she gave him a smaller dose as she never intended to kill him. Though she got revived again by XL. That was the last ultimate and final sacrifice he did for XY. I found this part really sad as he bid good bye to her and kill one of lives to end the love bug connection. She woke up and decided to cut ties from the world and be Royal Mother. CX begged her but she wouldn't budge. Then Jing finally appeared and they got back together again.
