I get what you mean but the arc about XY and XL's love is because of their tragic past. Like how they were being tortured. That was what made them connect. If you take it out the equation, then it'll be an entirely different story.

To change the ending is to change the whole novel because XL's life was already determined even before he met XY. So there's no way they could have a happy ending. He can't leave his obligations and go with XY. Only Jing made XY as his whole world so it made sense. People should see that they had a beautiful love but the trials of life made them part ways and it's still a beautiful love. It's more realistic because how many of us will marry the our first loves. We will have to through many love trials to find the one. Our greatest love is usually not the one we will marry.

I feel it's that XL is Tong Hua's favorite. As if the show is written for him. I love Jing though. lol I questioned if the lead is really Cang Xuan as the title reflects XY and XL love story more.

They're all so interesting in their own way. Jing may look innocent but he seems to be the mastermind in a lot of things. Though his weakness with his brother is still unfounded. He should have least get some revenge even if he doesn't want to kill him.

I get his reasoning but I also don't see why he doesn't tell her directly. She can't read his mind. She would have understood him better as to why he didn't do it. The one I find really flawed about his character is his principles. He's afraid that he will lose her to other men but he doesn't make use of the situation to show his love more. She might walk away thinking that maybe she didn't mean to him as much. Even the way he described why Yi Feng came off wrong too. It would made any girl feel like that his fiancée didn't want him so now he's here. Also, he's not doing enough to speed up breaking off his engagement. It doesn't give XY alot of signs that's he's serious and only wanting to be with her.

lol I can only see them as siblings. I find it hard to believe his love her for her. If he loved her like that since young then it's even weirder. If it started ever since they met again then it still doesn't make sense as she was still a boy then. It's not like they grew up together and started their crush then. I find the arc of loving one since childhood a bit overdone and unrealistic. They're still kids during that time.

I don't get Jing. You want the girl's heart but you refused to kiss her when she tried to kiss you. How is she gonna feel your love without you taking action? I understand his reasoning but sometimes I think he has too many principles for his own good. He's like a church boy. He's so slow in taking action to resolve his issues with his fiancée. His character is starting to lose me. IDK why the writer chose to make him so vulnerable.

I like XL but I don't understand why he's still abusive towards her. It's like one of those toxic relationships you often hear about. Toxic relationships are often more passionate but doesn't mean it's healthy. What if he gets mad at something she did, he's gonna take it out on her?

He said it so well. XL is indeed an unattainable person. They all understood their characters so well so all the actors are doing a splendid job. Even the side actors are great!

I don't know why the writer to chose to write Jing character as it is. He is way too nice. His thinking is to do whatever he tells her to do and make her happy. XL chose to make her happy by silently protecting her. CX chose to rule the world to protect her. What Jing has over them is that he's willing to go after what he loves and confessed to her. The other two guys chose to do secretly and lost her at end. Things might have been different if XL chose her and Jing would just be a second thought. Then again, no love is perfect. You have to remember too that is that they are both in their first love stage. XY life is full of turbulence and she just need someone who feels safe.

I remember a quote from a different drama "Your greatest love can you make you fly high but doesn't mean you can marry that person". I find it very realistic.

It will be later revealed that it's because of the grandmother. She will also be the one that will blackmail him into marrying Yi Feng.

I feel like the character Jing was written to be complete opposite of the other two. He's weak physically and mentally but the one thing he does have over the other two is that he was brave to confessed and go after his love. He goes in it with all his heart and even if he can't protect her well. XL's fate is indeed the most tragic as he never really had a choice to begin with. While CX did it too late and he can have himself to blame.

In my opinion, XY doesn't need saving. In fact, she's the savior for all these men. She saved Jing in the most awful part of his life and continued to do so. It was the same with XL. It was her blood that repeated saved him. She will be pivotal player to CX's rise to power. She's the bravest one out of all of them. She crawled herself out of the horrible situations of her life. I think they will all be lost souls if they didn't meet her.

Many people feel sad that XL is not end game but I find it more realistic. He's her soulmate but doesn't mean they can end up together. Like in real life, many of us don't end up with our first love. As we grow up, our mindset changes and how we view thing changes as well. I'm looking forward to their sweet love but I don't feel sad about his character anymore. In the novel, she gave him many chances but he chose politics time and time again. So it was his choice to give up their love. I got to say that they picked the right actor for his role. I didn't know him before but he's quite handsome. Though I love Chen Zhe Yuan and I kept thinking he would been perfect for his role too with his dashing good looks. lol

The series was cute at the beginning and it just got cheesy and draggy. How much agony does the ML has to go through for the girl. She doesn't even deserve him. They made some of the set look so artificial that it's hard for me to watch. Like when she was in the ML's kingdom, the garden just looks so artificial. They couldn't put in a little more effort? They had string lights going around the flowers and you can clearly see the wires. Geez, the bug me like hell. lol I know it's a movie but at least make it look more believable.

There must be great sacrifices for great power. I find his character pitiful but he would rank last out of the all guys for me. In the end, the person that will give XY happiness has to be selfless. He chose a different path so I don't hate him but his life is quite sad as well.

It's because she remembers her past. She knows that she's a woman but she has been living like a man for so long that she's used to it. You can say it was an innate reaction.

Me too. I'm getting impatient that ZX does not recognize her yet. Plus they release so few episodes each day and it's agonizing. I think i'm just gonna stop watching and wait for the whole thing to be release. Looking at the calendar, it'll be a damn long wait for each episode to air. lol

I think that XL's fate was doomed from the beginning because of his entanglement over politics. Even without XY in the equation, he would probably met the same fate. I don't think he would ever choose to live the normal life that XY yearned for. None of them are perfect but Jing is the only one who's willing to give up everything for her. Though Jing's niceness is what cause him trouble at times and gave XY alot of heartache. I like that no character is perfect. Even Jing will give us doubts about his actions.

I'm starting to not like the ML/Cang Xuan. He's a calculative person and I'm glad he will not be the end game for the FL. He is the lead so he'll be in the majority of the drama. He will only use her and not give the love that she deserves. I'm glad the author will let her be with the one who will cherishes her the most.

I agree. People like him because he gives off a cool aura and he's more interesting than the other male leads but in reality he will not be able to give her the stable happiness that she lacks since young.
