Agreed! People expect the same level of NC scenes as the NC scenes from a Thai BL. Which personally, I find kind of absurd, seeing as the series and actors are Chinese. Yes, the series is airing internationally to avoid the censorship of China, but these actors are still Chinese and can face consequences back home. I wasn't expecting much, so every bit is more.

I hate to say this, but people who are saying rape, need to read up on Omegaverse. As a lot of people have been saying this past week (me included), expecting human morals from an Omegaverse is useless. It's an entirely different universe, with its own set of rules, hierarchy, etc. As soon as somebody gets into a Heat or Rut, primal instincts take over, they essentially become wild animals. In the animal kingdom there is no such thing as consent, same with Omegaverse! Would you blame a Vampire who can't control himself if he has a blood-lust or blood-rage episode? If you do not understand it, or still have problems with it, maybe this series is just not for you! And that is okay.

Do you even understand Omegaverse?

Gao Tu will not stop taking the medication or suppressors, with or without Shen in his life. This is something that is ingrained in him by that lovely mother of his, doesn’t matter who tells him to stop, that it’s harmful etc. Hell he won’t even listen to a professional doctor. Gao Tu will only stop when he realizes that what he is doing is harming himself! Even if Shen wasnt in his life, he would be using those medications, he still would be hiding himself as a Beta instead of the Omega that he is.

If I may advice you, read up about Omegaverse, even if it’s just the basics. That way the series won’t confuse you to much. I believe that a bit further up on this page, there has been a thread on the different types etc (if you use the webpage and not the app).

Agreed! I wish Thai BL would take issues on like how Japan does it. Most of Japan’s BL are heartfelt, tackle taboo topics, just use the popularity of BL to create good dramas. I feel like Thai BL (especially Gmmtv, sorry to say) just uses the popularity to cash in money. The whole damsel in distress needs to be saved by a big strong man or high school BL’s are done to many times. Try something new and daring for once. It’s the reason why I enjoyed Reset, something new. Even if the story had a bit of a damsel in distress needs help vibe 😉 Korean BL is either a hit or a miss, but lately they have been producing quite good BL, albeit they are short indeed.

The translation is better then most other translated novels on Wattpad.

There are different rumors, but the most common one is that the production became to expensive. The company couldnt afford to make it and they overstretched themselves with the cast as well. If you look at the trailer and pilot trailer (both on YouTube) you can see that the cast are mostly known (somewhat expensive) actors.

Some said that the series took to many liberties, that fans didnt approve of. They couldn’t get sponsors. In the novel the main lead is quite an older man, I have not got his actual age, but they keep guessing between 40 and 60. The actor they hired for that role Dollar, was way to young to play the character. Dollar is 20 in age. They tried to rewrite but the story resolves around their age gap (for the record the other character is 25 in the novel. That point I actually agree on.

I started reading the English translation of Red Peafowl to get through the week. Sadly the BL series got cancelled, it really would’ve been an amazing series.

Probably the only reason I liked her in only for love, was because it was the first that I saw her acting. So I wouldn’t have noticed her doing practically every single role the same way. You hit the nail on the head, it’s that I can tell she is acting. Where other series the acting is so good, that you instantly get pulled into the story.

I’m not such a fan of scary, horror scenes. I should correct myself, I tried to watch the first episode, maybe the second episode (cant remember) but the original judge/owner of the body, being chased by, from what I remember was a giant cat/tiger/whatever in levels of hell, was for me enough to say, yeah we’ll watch it another time 😂😂It took me way to long to even finish Tale of the nine-tailed, I didn’t start Khemjira. I don’t do Horror and my neighbors thank me for it 😂😂
