You know what I don’t get when I see these reactions? Why is it a problem if people are shipping them, the characters and/or the actors themselves. Does it hurt you personally? Has it had any effect on your own life? I couldn’t give a flying fuck if people ship them, the more people watch these series, the better. The more people watch these series, the more exposure these actors have.

If you have people seeing more to it then only friendship, just ignore it and scroll along. Everybody has their own opinions, interpretations and imaginations, just because you don’t see it, that doesnt mean others have to share the same opinion as you!

Is it bad for me to think, if only they were polyamorous, then there wouldn’t have been any problems… I found the chemistry between Do Ba U and Ji Hun somewhat lacking, hell even the few scenes Ji Hun had with Jung Ha Min “sparkled” more. It could have been better, it felt like a dime a dozen, a series that you can watch without getting into the deep emotions.

Edit: KBL have so far been a bit of a disappointment this year, with the exception of the masterpiece Secret Relationship.

Pff right?! I just came from fb where somebody said that they hoped that in season 3 SuHo and BeomSeok became friends again. I didn’t think my mind could be shocked more, like you want the guy who attempted to murder his friend, to be friends again with his victim? How do you even justify it in your head.

SuHo was a friend, who was nothing but nice to BS, him and SE always checked in with BS if he was okay. They went to his house when he didn’t show up for school or didnt pick up the phone. They treated him like a good friend, and what was the thanks they got? A stab in the back.

SE only ever showed his agression for very good reasons. He taught those bullies to never cross the line with him again. SE and BS are not the same, not by a long shot. Maybe he has anger issues but sadly in reality, the way he handled those bullies, is usually the only way to get them of your back (maybe only a bit less extreme 😅)

I hate it when friends stab their friends in the back, you are absolutely dead to me, if you do that. What BS did, is even worse, it’s unforgivable. Slew of kids have shitty parents, get bullied all through school and do not come out like this. They do not make the conscious decisions to put a hit on your friend and then beat him so badly, that SH wouldn’t wake up for quite some time!

If it wasn’t for BS father, BS would’ve been arrested and jailed for attempted manslaughter. BS was a jealous, insecure and obsessive coward, shown multiple times, the running away when SE showed up instead of SH and got beaten. And beating SH when he was already unconscious.

I don’t think I ever hated a character as much as I hate BS!

Just finished it, I went into it knowing it wasn’t as dark as WHC but I was pleasant surprised. It’s full of comic relief and funny moments.

I will not even compare it with WHC because that would be like comparing apples with oranges. Yes they are both high school series where classmates fight but honestly there ends the comparison.

I loved the friendships between the study group members, I love that they gave the three fighters from the rooftop scène a second chance, and that they became (somewhat) study group members too. I actually even liked the unrealistic fights, I mean common a dude jumps out of a windows 10/20 meters high and somehow lands on his feet, while punching somebody and not breaking his legs. (not to mention the seemingly speed GaMin all of a sudden has)

I do have to say that the last fight was satisfying and just hilarious to watch. Also it was very satisfying to see that certain people loose their job. I liked the fact that they added a girl that put her weight down and participated in the fights, she was a force to be reckoned with. Actually both girls had their strengths!

Watching this after WHC, it gave me some calm after the utter rage, I felt after finishing season 1 of WHC. WHC left me in utter despair about the cruelty and the betrayal, this one (and WHC2) healed that a bit. It was fun to watch, would I rewatch it, yeah I think I would, even if it was only for some comic relief on a bad day!

Finished this for the first time just now, I'll make a bigger review, once im calmer, because currently im way too pissed off. The series was really good, honestly though i don't think a series has ever given me so much rage and anger than WHC1 has done.

But the problem is there will always be backlash, because of how toxic fans can be. But I think if they just told it early on, the backlash might not be that bad, because Akin and Jin were very popular when the #JinAkinarereal hit.

Just look at how Mew and Tul handled it, yes Mew got backlash from the MewGulf fans who still can’t handle the fact that that was just fanservice. But most of the fans are very happy and excited for them.

I never read or saw the novel or the anime series, so I have no material to compare it to. But I do hear from others who have seen it, that the series is a good representation of it, some say just like you that it’s better. The director is trying to be very loyal to the source material. Which is nice to see for a change. Only novel I ever read was Love Syndrome, which was pretty problematic in itself.

If I may butt in, I personally loved Love in the big City (Korean) and Secret Relationship, both are mature adult themed. Out of Japan, I was impressed by When it Rains it Poors, but thats a series that not everybody likes. Also mature adult themed. I could recommend those 3 to anybody who wants to watch more adult themed series.

This show is better than most of the Gmmtv series so far, I don’t get how people say it’s not good. I rather have these sorts of series, where the acting is just flawless, where the emotions are constantly on point and so raw, where the direction is just top notch! Then have mediocre acting, chemistry not even remotely good, stiff actors, weird angles for nc scenes or just plain kissing (yes I’m talking about director New), where the use of music is full of variaty and so fitting, instead of the constant same OST/songs under scenes. The show is so good that the few flaws that it has are barely noticeable, unless you go looking for something to complain about.

It’s the same fans that moan about, that they want Santa back as a Top, because he has become to “cute”. Those fans don’t seem to realize that Santa is just being offered a role. I also think it has something to do with the input of the director and the team behind it.

Fans need to understand that actors have boundaries, and that you don’t ask certain things, this is one of those! I personally don’t have any problems or hate for Cooheart, I love that he is bit by bit showing that clothing isn’t defined to a certain gender. It takes so much courage to that.

Only thing I would say is, I would like to see him in a different role then what he so far has been given. I think a lot of actors are currently being pushed in roles that they have had or done before. There is a word for it, which I currently cannot remember anymore. I think Cooheart can do much more, then only the safe roles.

Agreed! Thankfully they don’t use the trope that often anymore! It’s the fact that there are just no consequences, In TharnType the best friend of Tharn (who orgastrated a gang rape) moved to Germany with his sister and the girl in Live on Love who wanted to organize a gang rape, was also send abroad by the parents. Like what the actual fuck? I could understand using the trope of there are actually consequences for the perpetrators. But so far 🤯😵‍💫😵 (also those two series popped up easiest, if I think about it longer there probably will be more!)

That comment section was brutal to anything negative about Cooheart and the character he played. But yeah I agree with your opinion about Ter.

I know you stopped watching, I think I talked about it with you on the TopForm MDL page. I’m still watching, I tend to need to finish series. But yeah the trope needs to stop being used, it’s giving the insentive that it’s okay, which it’s not.

Only thing I can say is I’m glad it isn’t used like in some Chinese series, where the girl gets SA or r*ped and the victim falls for their abuser or viceversa. Which I know how ridiculous it sounds to even mention it like that.

I think you are seriously the first one who also says that Ter stopped being a friend to North the moment he found it more important to have North be together with Johan. For me it got to a point that it felt like Ter was interrogating North to get the juicy bits. Even when North said he felt uncomfortable by him or Johan. There were times I wanted to shake him so hard, like for crying out loud listen to your friend and stop with the shipping!

But yeah I finished it but practically FF all the scenes between Hill and Ter. Pond was so freaking limited in his acting during that series. And there are seriously fans that want Cooheart to be with Pond as a couple! The chemistry was non existent for me. I’m looking forward to seeing him in Reset, seems like his acting will be challenged much more in that one.

Oh totally agreed! And people switch like clockwork when it comes to characters. Just look under the comment section of TopForn for example, people seem to have forgotten what Johnny did in a instance because he had a “shipper” moment, where he was watching Jun and Akin together. Like can we stick to not liking a guy for like longer then a week? Do they not have morals or is it because it’s just a series? I personally still can’t stand the character Boston (from Only friends).

True, but I personally am of the opinion that Payu and Rain had more of a Dom/sub relationship and Payu being soft with Rain was him testing out Rain his boundaries. Maybe Sorn just lacks patience 😉

Honestly it would be nice if we for once get a mature series where the bottom is not some kind of helpless little young boy, who needs to be saved by big strong guy, let him stand on his own! Most of the bl series show characters who were between 20/25 years old. They are young adults/adults, old enough to get out into the big scary world! I want to see a bottom who doesnt bow down by some bully, person who thinks they are more or hides behind his “top”.

Is that also the lesson you as a company or series, want to through out into the world, that you just have to find a strong boyfriend who will protect from everything? Newsflash he/she/they aren’t going to be there for you always. (I sound bitter 😅). Why can’t bl series show, that love can be an addition to your life, not that your whole life and personality has to become your lovelife.

With that group of friends, who all watch BL, some are much older then me (I’m 34). Who when something happens to one of the actors go “oh our pour babies, or my poor babies”, it’s just like gross don’t do that. That are human people we are talking about, most are over 22, they are no babies, they are young men! And for some it might be a motherly feelings (which personally grosses me out even more). Thankfully one of my friends thinks the same way, so sometimes I can complain about it to her. Maybe it’s the culture I’m used too, we tend to be way to serious, sober and stiff for that stuff.

The whole infantilize thing was one of the reasons I just couldn’t watch Hill and Ter in Fourever You part one. I know New recently has a habit of having actors act younger or more childlike but that one… Nothing wrong with Cooheart just the way he played his character was not for me. To damsel in destress, to little helpless boy needs help with everything!

I get the frustration though, I wish Gmmtv would touch some series that show the difficulties and struggles people have in the LGBTQIA+ community. That might actually open some eyes to those fans. But it’s seems to be to much of a taboo, so they stay on the safe sides. I personally loved series as Love in the big city or I told sunset about you. I would like it if they did a series with a good polyamorous storyline.

Also totally different subject but it would be nice if for once during nc scenes there are some bottles of lube shown, only series so far that showed it (used it) was 4 minutes. But then again Durex was sponser for the series.

I personally cringe when I hear my other BL friends go on and on about “their babies” that they need to protect. You have no idea how the comment section under the series 10 liners bugged me, especially during the YothaGun storyline. Like Gun is not some helpless little boy you need to save from the big bad wolf named Yotha. Also Yotha was never a red flag character, just somebody trying to heal from his trauma. As you can see, still frustrated by it!

As for Sorn and Jun I feel like those two are just playing a game with each other, the game of who can hold out the longest. Jun is clearly comfortable and enjoying his time with Sorn, and Sorn tries to be very tactful and oblivious, yet he anything but that.

I want to say it was as subtle as Payu was with Rain but Payu had a bit more tact and I did feel like Rain was a bit naive in the beginning. Payu was attracted towards Rain from the first meeting and I think the same can be said of Sorn towards Jun. Why am I involve Payu and Rain into this? No idea it’s late and it just popped up.

I feel like you have been watching the wrong series then. Because except for the Gmmtv series almost every single series has had nc scenes. With TopForm and The Boy Next World leading the charge.
