SSY asks HY at some point, “in addition to the purification and healing ability what other effect does your permanent mark have on me” HY responds with “all beneficial ones, my physical strength, speed, explosive power, healing power and intelligence are all far beyond the average human. And through the permanent mark, they can be passed on to my partner. Mr Sheng you have now 30% of my abilities…. and 100% of my love”. (HY can be arrogant and cheesy all in one)

It did at times feel like HY was just a vampire except for the fangs, the way he brought back SSY after the kidnapping and marking made me laugh, it was giving Vampire Diaries and Twilight vibes.

So according the novel, the rooms were pitch black. SWL was extremely drunk and got “pulled in or seduced” because of GT his pheromones, during Heat periods the Omegas pheromones can attract Alphas who can have a high probability score with said Omega. GT and SWL have a probability score of in the 90% (it’s the reason why GT got pregnant immediately after that first time). Sometimes Omegaverse authors write that when an Alpha gets “seduced” by an Omega’s pheromones they can go into a Rut period at the same time.

And with SSY not only was the room pitch black, SSY is used to HY his Omega scent, which is a warm soothing orchid scent. HY his true Enigma scent is a cold, cool orchid scent, so SSY wasn’t used to HY his natural scent. Also HY his voice was different from the voice SSY was used to. And because of HY his rut combined with the mating fever and mate-seeking syndrome he suffered from, the room was dosed with HY seductive pheromones. In the novel it’s mentioned that SSY thought the person in the room with him was an alpha who lost control during his rut. So it was a bit of all the things you mentioned.

I personally think the scenes should’ve been darker, I know it was made brighter for us as viewer to see what was happening, but it caused a lot of confusion for the viewers who hadn’t read the novel.

I hear a lot of people saying, it’s 50 episodes, around 45/50 minutes each, it’s going to be boring and it’s so long. But you are right, the episodes fly by, the story is that good. The first 10 or so episodes drag a bit, but that comes because they are starting to tell the story. I rewatch this series every so many months, even though I practically know it inside out, it still holds my attention like it did the first time I watched it. The series is beautifully captivating, the storyline very well worked out. The actors are all on their A game, especially Zhan and Yibo. And I can’t even get enough of the set pieces, every single one is beautiful.

Ugh I’m so done with Prapai, he acts so possessive over Nawa, while he can’t even open his mouth to tell Nawa how he feels. Prapai then telling his father all about Phu, is so childish. And what’s with the constant head touching, ridiculous. As long as Prapai won’t open his mouth, he can’t be acting all possessive, Nawa isnt his! I’m getting more and more annoyed with him. At least Phu has the guts to actually tell Nawa how he feels about him and is pursuing him.

You are right about that, but than again the brother wasnt fit to be leader of the Yakuza, the dude had to many daddy issues. I said it in my comment above that I kept hoping in that last episode thst somebody had found out that Keito put multiple kills on Kataoka and did something about it. I kept hoping the drink he drank was poison, maybe it’s petty.

Yes they ended up having their bar. And you are right that this was the only way Kataoka and Odajima got to have their freedom. But I do think there were other people who were more suitable than Keito. I’m sorry if because of my comment you got to read spoilers, I really should have used the spoiler tag.

This was a great series to watch, it was short and it could have been longer, but it wasn’t really needed.

I loved how much we got to see Odajima struggle, struggle with life, struggle with family, struggle with his friend dying, struggle to kill Kataoka and do as he is told. He had a rough life, but im thankful that Kataoka became his reason to life and to stay alive. Might be some codependency but who cares.

I love how the nonchalant Kataoka loved Odajima, even though he seemed to have been aware about the times Odajima tried to kill him. And yet kept ignoring it, until that very heavy and emotionally dramatic moment in the car, in the last episode. Kataoka kept mentioning beloved wife and honestly usually I really hate it when in BL a partner is calling the other partner wife or mother. But this time I could appreciate it because Kataoka mentioned it so casually and nonchalant, maybe at first as a joke, but the further we got in the series the more serious it became. There was something so very tender between the two characters, which was a good translation from the actors. I loved how they turned the beginning scene a 180 in the last episode, that scene was full of love, compassion, passion and tension. Beautiful contrast between beginning and ending.

I found the NC scene in episode 2 and the kissing scene in the last episode so mesmerizing, I couldn’t believe Japan gave such a beautiful NC scene, the passion and tension were just so beautiful to watch. Lately we have gotten dead fish kisses from Japanese BL, but that last kissing scene was just gorgeous.

I rated it a 9/10, two things I didn’t really like, one I think Kiiri Keito is completely wrong to take over. The guy is too busy with his unresolved daddy issues and him trying to kill his adopted brother. The guy is so unstable, trying to kill a family member, but than trying to preach to Odajima that he doesn’t trust the family.

Kataoka isnt that much more stable, but he seemed to have cared for the members. Was sociable and connected easily with people, he also seemed to have the respect from a lot of ths younger gang members. He seemed to be the on that was the most suitable. It is quite understandable why he was the favorite of the old man. I feel like the gang would end quite quickly under Kiiri his leadership.

And two, that Kiiri was infact able to take up the succession. It might sound harsh, but I kept hoping something would happen to him, that somebody in the gang actually found out about Kiiri putting hits on his brother to eliminate the competition. When he drank the water, I kept hoping it was poison. But alas that didn’t happen.

I loved this series, would recommend it for everybody who likes a good maffia and dramatic series. It’s not for everybody and that is totally fine.

I know it’s a week later, but I’m pretty sure the brother Kiiri Keito hired the guy to murder his adopted brother, so of course he isn’t going to do anything. He wants his brother dead so he can take over, why would he interfere if the guy is doing his job.

I love the fact that in the novel, everybody outside of those who know HY is an Enigma, thinks HY is an omega. Friends of SSY call him sister in law, outside SSY and HY are Alpha and Omega. Only when they are at home is HY the enigma. Their marriage is at P-county while it’s normal for the marriage to happen in the alphas home town, everybody outside of those who know, think it’s SSY making concessions to his beautiful meak Omega. HY really doesnt give a toss about others thinking he is an Omega, only thing he cares about is that SSY is happy, well fed and healthy!

Because the sisters who wrote the novel, directed and did all the other things to made the series, have the 4 artist in contract with them. And they have formed a boy-band, which makes it possible for the 4 to still interact with each other. Call it a loophole. Also I’m pretty sure ZiYu and Tian don’t work under the same company/agency, I haven’t heard anything about them getting banned, I think it might be just them being busy with their own schedules. Could also be that they distanced themselves from each other in the public’s eye for the sake of their careers.

Saen eyes looked dead, that marriage isnt going to be the fairy tale Pin is dreaming of. Saen is going to hold so much resentment and hate towards her, her family and his family, if it continues on. I can’t even describe how disgusting I feel with Pin, at this point everybody but Saen and Sasin (and the friends that support them) can drop dead, let them suffer in hell! Even though I am an Atheist, for people like this I like will believe there is an hell.

I’m totally fine with it. The had practically the same ending as in the novel. And their storyline only gets told in the extra chapters, so they were basically side characters (which was mentioned in the trailer, there have been a lot of topics on X explaining it). For me personally I found their storyline bland and kind of a dime a dozen, standard Omegaverse storyline. Which I already read so many off, but like I said thats my opinion.

I knew from the first episode that AE/AI and Enaga were the same person, but I really wondered how Chiaki didn’t realize it after the first episode because of that black band-aid. So I just rewatched the first episode and AE/AI has a ring over that band-aid, if you look closely when they are sitting outside and AE/AI hands Chiaki the cigarette, you can see his other hand. Bit of the black band-aid can be seen. I found it a beautiful detail, to still hide AE his other personality.

Can’t wait until episode 3 comes out.

Yes Peanut was about a month to early, from what I remember. Also it’s common in Omegaverse that the baby bumps aren’t that noticeable, something about having the uterus further in the back of the body or something. Because SSY is a Alpha his body isnt made to carry a child, like how Omegas are. His uterus was thinner and Peanut had the habit of moving and kicking a lot. At some point around the 7,5/8 month, SSY uterus collapsed/broke because of that and thats why he was bleeding. It’s better explained in the novel.

Please, the moment it was revealed it was a marriage of convenience Pin should’ve known what the prince his feelings would be. Not to mention the numerous other signs she conveniently ignored. They both tried to talk to her but Pin didnt want to hear it. What else was she supposed to do, maybe let go of her selfish feelings and actually try to help. This is the whole reason Lavender Marriages exist, Pin could have said I know you don’t love me, but I still would like to marry you. After the marriage we can both have our partners, that way she still would be “saved” from her family. You cannot force love!

I can’t remember if it was mentioned in the series but in the novel it is mentioned that HY has had mate seeking syndrome since he was 17 or 18. A normal rut is about a week long, but for HY those rut extended because of the mate seeking syndrome (which with time make those ruts more and more unbearable) to about half a month to a month. In the series it looks like HY disappears (fake kidnapping by SWL) for only a couple of days, in the novel HY is away for about a month. The series also didnt really do justice to the way HY is being chained/locked up. The novel described it as HY being chained up by his limbs with military rate chains, infused with pheromone suppressant, same with the walls. The door is make to withstand any pheromone scents coming through. HY bites and scratches himself bloody during those mate seeking ruts (especially his wrists). When he actually escapes his rut has completely taken over, he has no control over himself. Some people have said that all 4 were actually SA that night, and I do agree with that partially. For all 4, pheromones took over making them lose control. They were more like wild animals at that point, especially HY, whose ruts are unbearably painful.

I would recommend reading the novel after the series, there are scenes that are just better explained in it compared to the series. There are also a couple topics in the discussion board here on this page (you need to use the website of MDL, in the app it won’t show these) that explain why HY had to go through such drastic measures to “get” SSY.

Couldnt agree more! Ive been saying since episode 4 that Pin is a type of character that will cause drama and problems, friends of mine were like 50/50, others indeed fell for the whole fake sweet and innocent act. If she really actually loved and cherished the prince she would want to help them. Pin couldve gone, hey I know you are not in love with me and this marriage purely out of convenience, how about I help you and we get married but we both have our lovers on the side (lavender marriage). But no miss I want him and I’m going to get him is to selfish and self absorbed to think about others!

Can’t get enough of that moment where HM and XY learned that HC isnt actually HMs. The way XY/Lusi laid into Fang Lei was beautiful, beautiful scene and beautiful acting from Lusi. Loved the series, I really liked it. So far this year there have only been a few Chinese series that I really liked and completely finished. I liked that the sisters know how to move past their issues and by doing that get a very tight bond. The only thing I do feel is that the last 2 episodes feel a bit rushed. But after watching quite a few Chinese period dramas, I know it’s kind of typical to rush the ending and/or that any conflicts get a “fixed” quite easily. I also would’ve liked to have seen HC in the final episode, let them actually feel like a family.
