Mandarin does not use gendered pronouns in the same way like we do. As such, you will see some subtitles start flip-flopping between "she/her" and "he/him" pronouns depending on if the dialogue is referring to Amber's past identity as Wen-wen (a female identity) or Amber's current identity as Amber (a male identity). THIS IS NOT THE CHARACTERS BEING INSENSITIVE. This was a choice by the translators to convey the differences in identity without the same identifiers that would be used in Mandarin, and with new identifiers present in English. This is something that we need to keep in mind as we get more international and gender-diverse stories.

The same needs to also be said for "disease"/"illness." Honestly, the best term for Amber's intersex condition would have been "condition" or maybe "syndrome" - but in mandarin, the terminology and what falls under each term is more than likely different. Please be mindful that translation is not an exact science.

Indeed, and women also start thermoregulating at higher temperatures than men (around a 0.3*C difference from what I can find). This is probably why women have better cold tolerance honestly, because we start thermoregulating sooner. And why we tend to have hotter showers. Also, women hold on to their ability to maintain their core temperatures while they age, while men start witnessing a decline in that ability.

But women generally have colder skin temperatures - which would explain the complaints ;)

But still, ideal office temperatures for women (75*F appears to be the most common consensus) and men (70*F) should still not have offices in the 60s. And absolutely yes, it appears to be against human nature to make slight adjustments. Got in a hilariously huge argument with my college roommates about it a while back. Being a bunch of northerners, they wanted it way too cold for my joints.

I mean, personally i dont mind the second couple (although i do wish the main couple got more screentime) but your nicknames for them made me laugh. Earlier in the series a few of us were calling Yuki a vampire bc of how stiff he was. (He's getting better though. It is his first role afterall).

And yes, you should definitely watched Be Loved In House. Honestly, i almost dropped it after the first episode, but have since rewatched it many times. They become quite adorable.

If anyone was keeping track of my quest to determine Hank and Aarons' characters in this drama. I have come to a revelation. The names that someone added here as character names are actually alternate names for the actors themselves.

Aaron and Hank are simply labelled as "special performances" by the opening credits of Plus & Minus and any promotional materials I was able to find (and they are not in the closing credits at all). So they are unnamed. So I guess it is up to personal interpretation whether they are the same characters from Be Loved In House or not.

Lol. Are you the one who also changed the names in MDL? If not, thats fine - it just means that you aren't the only one who's making this mistake.

Xiao Dong/Lai Dong-Hyun/Lai Dongxian is one of Aaron's alternate names.
A Han/Wang Shuohan is one of Hank's alternate names.

The amount of time i spent trying to find them in the credits.... I dont want to go into it.

They are not in the end credits at all.
However, they are in the beginning credits on the episodes they appear in.
So yay. Found them.

Beyond just the sheer waste of power (and undoubtedly, electricity money), there just isn't much point. Sure, it feels heavenly after being outside in the heat and humidity, but so would a few degrees warmer. And after a little while of sitting in that AC, I would need to put on a coat. And I can attest that I do not want to lug around a coat when I have absolutely 0 need for it outside.

A few degrees warmer is also more conducive to the office workers. Cold environments make me sluggish and tired. Simple as that. And as someone who also has chronic joint and spine problems, cold is not my friend. But yea, the best temperature for office workers is 70-73*F. And with proper air-flow, it can be as warm as 77*F. Any colder than this and youre risking losing productivity.

I think the only place that might warrant being that cold is the kitchens, because theyre cooking the entire day.

To be honest, i haven't even paid attention to the suits. Which I normally do... So i guess that is a sign that the particular choices they made for the suits don't fully work.

I've been in a few airconditioned buildings where I've kept my suit jacket on (most of which were in Florida). I would take it off but quickly realized it was too cold - especially when sitting still at a desk for most of the day. But I've always considered buildings that cold to be a waste of power. Plus, since this is in a hotel and he is the CEO, i feel like he should have control over the AC in his office at least.

And from what everyone is seeing from the highlights/promos - yes it seems like its mostly the same as the movie, but with more and/or extended scenes. But we won't really know until it starts airing. Perhaps it starts with movie events and then moves on from there?

I'm impartial towards BonusBank. Their chemistry tends to be touch-and-go. Sometimes I feel it, sometimes I don't. And i think this show really heightens that fact because of the nature of Teng's character.

As for Mayom's hair - the idea was there. And I think it could've been attractive. And it makes sense with him being a chef with long hair. But the execution can be quite sloppy in most of his scenes. I think if they spent just a little more time on keeping it clean and shaped well, I wouldve loved it.
