Notable mention: Tsukuritai Onna to Tabetai Onna (GL)
I actually LOVE the mellow tone here. I didn't come in expecting a standard romcom, nor did I ever form that expectation.
This story has so much potential with these characters, their lives, and their dynamics. Like legitimately, so so much. But the majority of it loses its weight in conversations and/or the portrayal of their emotions. And then several seemingly important things seemingly get lost between episodes, only to be brought up again like it's an all-new reveal. Plus, we're constantly getting distracted from them by repetitious non-relevant children and the same old conversations. Not to mention the fact that all the leads are adults, but pout and whine like children.
It's great that you can see so clearly the potential and intent behind the flaws, but for a lot of us, that eventually becomes too hard to keep ahold of. Some of us are looking forward to the eventual episode where the writers, direction team, and actors can hopefully have enough footing to give us this complex and human story of grief, family strain, acceptance of self, and hope that we can see gorgeous glimpses of from time to time.
Don't dismiss our critiques so easily as "y'all were expecting something different" without fully hearing us out first. Yes, we were expecting something different. Not a romcom. Not a fluff story. But rather a story that gives all these serious components the seriousness, weight, and screentime they deserve.
Also, I love this GL cafe/bar setting trend.

Indeed, both actors did their characters so much justice! I was sold all the way through on their performances. I only complimented one more over the other because when Eddie got emotional, i empathized so deeply that I started feeling the same emotions. Which really speaks to the acting since it was such a fluffy story.

Like it reads exactly like a sports anime.

Nah, but seriously. Talk about actions speak louder than words right there, lol.
For those wondering, episode 5 has proven that there is a difference between the cut and uncut version.
Gonna have to change my perspective of this being a show meant for kids.
"Don't do that again unless you like me."
Talk about actions speak louder than words.
Another scene that came out of nowhere, but thats the trend, yes?
These leads apparently spend too much time with children. They rarely act their ages.
Tin. Honey. Why are you so persistent about Park? I don't see the appeal!!
Tin and Park exemplify a common concern about acquittances/friends-to-lovers age-gap romances (and I dont even know if they have an age-gap 🤷🏼♀️): Park can't seem to tell and stay consistent with how he's viewing Tin. A kid in his care? A childhood friend? Someone he's got feelings for? Who knows?! He doesn't. I don't.
