Madam Yu tricked the maid into thinking she got a chance to become his bedwarming maid or concubine.

So, when Fan Yake asked her to embroider a pouch for Yu Jingxiu, she deliberately made it different, to become noticed by Yu Jingxiu.

Basically, Madam Yu is toying with Fan Yake to become isolated without any support inside Yu mansion. Yu Jingxiu knew, so went to his mom for leniency.

She played FL's (Ancy Deng) mother in Melody of Golden Age (if you've watched it before). This drama is their reunion.

And ML's stepmom in Joy of Life, etc. She played in a lot of notable support roles.

Both the quality of the drama and acting of the leads are much better here.

But, if you like this pairing, you can try Melody of Golden Age as well. Not my favorite, but it's a cute drama.

Ep 13 - I just threw out my sliver of understanding toward Madam Zuo out of the window. This woman is just vile, twisted, and beyond salvation. 😑

This is such a simple interaction but damn not that often we come across this kind of CP in cdrama. Clear about their own shortcomings, and acknowledge their partner's strengths. Love them so much.

I based it off of recently finished airing Tencent dramas. Many of them became available on Viki after airing ended.

Good chance for Viki. iQiyi not likely imo.
