From the soundtrack to the stories, it’s like the beginning of any porn movie. I’m not complaining.

We're halfway through the series and it feels like it hasn’t started yet. There’s no focus, and new elements keep being added on and on without any apparent connection with each other. C’mon, this is the middle of the series already! It hurts character building and interaction — really, Jun Employee acts toward Jun Boss as if they’ve just met; and the show seems to be gonna milk the ‘why has Jun given up his Boy-band career’ mystery until the last episode. There’s a good story there; what it lacks is a better script.

If I’m not mistaken, Lom is the first character in BL history to let his phone buzz during a crucial date scene.

You’re doing fine, Mame. But if you feel the urge to add rape or trauma as a plot point, take a deep breath and count to ten.

“Put, I think you should check on him.”

Wait, you ask his ex who still has a crush on him to comfort Pat?!!!!??

According to the iron rule of the BL universe, no plot can move on until one of the main characters gets drunk.

PS: Ep. 7 was awfully well written.

The most unreal thing about this series is that everyone goes to Max, the sexiest guy around, just for advice and a shoulder and nothing else.

This episode was three quarters great and one quarter… weird. The whole ‘Jaab is dating Paint (who?) but he couldn’t come to the party’ just came out of nowhere. And Mr. Jeng in the last bed scene was out of character, it was as if he hadn’t been warned about Pat literally the minute before. I get that he was in love and in denial but he was delusional in that scene. Like the Jaab thing, it was rushed. And Pat dear, we love you but you’re not boss material.

what's a nepo babe?
Nepo BABY (nepotism baby) is how people call those children of celebrities who succeed because of their parents. Since Pat is not Jeng’s son but his soon-to-be lover, I thought it would be better to call him Nepo BABE.

‘I spaced out so much that my Dad got worried.’

Then he sent you back to Bangkok to live on your own.

Logic is not an entry in Mame’s dictionary.

Having found the original series one of stupidest things ever, I gotta say these two special episodes were actually good. Although it takes a while to land, it’s got better rhythm, more focus, and funnier gags. Maybe it’s the dynamics: Cher and Gun are much more interesting as an established couple.

Episode 5 was the best so far. It’s a slow burn that’s starting to pay off. This is a full-blown drama series, that is, there’s lots of stuff happening around the main romantic plot. It’s like a soapie or a telenovela and it’s really refreshing to see how they try to go beyond the BL romance format. I’m still genuinely surprised with the writing. Yes, it’s silly but it’s adult silly. Everyone’s got their opportunity to shine. Ae and Chot are fabulous as always, we feel sorry for Put, Jen & Jaab cute as usual and I love that they allow Pat to walk around wearing a pajama shirt!

(I see some borderline nasty comments about Ben. The kid’s handsome and he’s doing just fine. Let’s hope some of these negative remarks have nothing to do with the fact that he’s darker skinned and looks more like an average Thai guy than the typical BL star.)
