You don't hate the male lead like the other ones because it's Taishi lol, it's not just his character it's him,…
oh that's cool that the actor is like that in real life too. People who just enjoy life rather then worrying about whether they look "cool" or not are always really charming (:
only seen a couple episodes but the way wang kuan goes along with everything even helping people kidnap him is freaking hilarious and adorable. He's so funny with the lovely airhead Pei Jing by teaching her how to capture him and tie up the horse and investigate things LOL. They're both so funny together cause neither of them care about dangerous or serious situations. Pei Jing doesn't seem to care at all that she should be serious around all these badguys and the prisoners she's meant to guard and Wang Kuan doesn't seem to care about being kidnapped or held hostage, he'd sooner worry about his outfit getting stained with blood then his own safety, in fact the only thing he seems concerned about is whether Pei Jing isn't off doing something irrelevant
Also for our leading couple, I love how they're both so smart. I really never know what Zhongxin is up to. I've seen 4 eps and I still don't know what side he's really on... or even if he really wants to save his brother????. This show is great because the villians aren't typical and no one acts predictably, I really can't guess where the storyline is gong to go and that means it's written well as I've seen a million cdramas and know every trope and any fairly common plot twist so I usually guess when things are about to happen, but with Young Blood that rarely happens.
It was an entertaining drama. All the characters are likable. In my opinion, maybe fewer episodes would have been…
"I never really understood the game they were playing xD but I admired their passion and determination" im sorry that made me laugh so hard, thanks for writing that.
omg i adored jun Shan, I loved his character and his personality and the way the actor portrayed him, especially those last ending episodes when he's burning with hatred for the people that kept them hostage and later on the Japanese CEO who used to be his friend. He was such an intersting character, despite his serious and often silent nature. I feel a bit sorry he was left alone at the academy while everyone else moved on or died, but he's with his best friend running it together so I guess that's not a "sad ending", though he didn't get the girl.
My heart hurt for director Guo who till the end never got his happy ending. I loved his relationship with the students. This show was really about the enthusiasm and courage of the youth, which is why it hurts more every time one of their friends died.
I loved Li wenzhong's character development. I'm still not over his death. I really loved him with the flower…
omg same, he was like the malfoy in this show: he's not really evil, just annoying, and because of that you can't help but not hate him, but later in the story he becomes a really good guy and his little love story with the flower girl was so cute. When he ripped out the pages so she couldn't remember him it was so heartbreaking, why did he have to die? ugh, its so tragic
I'm still having a withdrawal so I have been rewatching parts of this drama and the few clips of the cast that…
lol, i thought Ren and Yo laughed a lot cause it was in the script, but Jin and Rika seem to be the type of people who are always giggling at everything haha, seems the poster is pretty accurate LOL
lol same, it seemed like the backstory of each character was so random and weird like "the male lead is secretly…
omgg nooo sorry! I worded that weird, I was just saying a list of random irrelevant things because that's what the synopsis sounded like to me XD the show isn't about a guy who backflips or whatever haha (or maybe it IS , i haven't seen it) haha, sorry for the confusion, though i admire your tastes in dramas if that's what made you intersted in the show HAHA
Yes, I don't like this Ryusei guy either but if he and the ex-girlfriend Maki are catalysts to Ren and Yo's relationship…
omg. i loved that scene too, I really liked how she asked, "were you lying to yourself too?" but my favourite line was when she said "look what you've done, Ren!" because it was like he decided on his own to break down their little lie and now she really can't turn back (meanwhile Ren doesn't even know what's going on lol). I really really liked that scene, it was done the best in this version, whereas in the original i dont think she says much. Also the original's editing in that scene was always kind of weird including that scene where Ren meets her younger self, whichhad always kind of tripped me up because i didnt know if Yo was actually there or not or if this is just inside Ren's mind and he's redoing his past and confessing on that day instead of saying he wont love her. It's a bit more clear in the jp ver. tho that they both don't meet and instead just miss each other outisde her house. anyway, when he said "please, this may seem stupid, but please let me love you" i dunno TT the ending of ep 15 was the best thing ever with the climax of all the hidden emotions. i almost feel bad towards this version because i was so used to the story it might not have touched me as much as it could've. btw, a lot of people don't like teh korean ver. i must confess it was actually the first one i saw, so i didnt even know it was a remake, i was in love with the whole show unti i found the original and equally enjoyed that one, so i guess when people compare it, i can't relate lol. I also have a soft spot for next door neighbour window-to-window friendships so i have no complaints LOL. In the chinese version Ai Ru Man (A play on iron man btw, for obvoius reasons lol) has the same job and Lu Fei works as a dentist haha
im sorry, but other then mindless entertainment to put on tv while you fold your laundry, i cant imagine why this story or its characters should even be taken seriously. All the characters have no morals.... which would be sort of fine i guess, if their personalities stayed consistent, but they never will because the sole purpose of this show is to create cheap drama, not to tell a story. This makes it impossible to care for any of these people or what happens to them. You might start this show thinking it's great, and even I admit was blinded by the incredible acting by a lot of the main characters (they should be using their talent somewhere else to be honest) but afterwards you realise this has no soul, and tbh not even enough substance to reach 100 episodes. and yet my god, they EXTENDED It. I can only laugh. You may say this is just how family dramas are, and for a lot of them they are like this, but there are others with a lot of heart, so I'm going to reccomend them to anyone who feels the same way as me and wants to watch a nice family drama: My Father is Strange What happens to my family?
I liked this show at the beginning, when everyones characters made sense and him accidentallly getting into the company was an interesting plot. Also I liked that the 2nd lead was a total jerk at the beginning and chased elitism and had an inferioirty complex towards our nonchalant main lead. I felt like he was a really interesting character, especially when he started regretting and feeling out of place in high society, and choosing the rich girl over the good girl. He has always had this unrequited competition between the male lead so when he gets into the same company on a whim, I was waiting for XHY's absolute mental breakdown tantrum, which never even happened really. But they did touch on it a little bit....
But then later on the writing just turned into trash. I thought the moral of his character was to not chase those things, not to compare yourself to others, not to just cheat on your girlfriend and think it's ok because she wasn't your best "choice" and XHY was supposed to evolve into a better person after realising he fucked shit up...... and that never even happened??????????????????????????????????????????????????? He was my fav character in the beginning because he was so messed up and I was waiting for him to grow, and yet... the writing was just????????????????? So he didn't like the rich girl cause she was rich but cause he actually liked her? Then what was their relationship meant to be saying? Also he never apologised or even felt bad about cheating, there was no redemption, no reflection and not any of the other characters seemed to care either, and they all became friends in the end????? It was so weird, the writing was weird, everything was weird. the Main couple got together in the weirdest way I thoguht i'd missed scenes. This show started out pretty good and the cinematorgaphy stayed beautiful to the end, but the writing was just so ?????
Yes, I don't like this Ryusei guy either but if he and the ex-girlfriend Maki are catalysts to Ren and Yo's relationship…
omg was the phone scene in the original too LOL sorry i've seen the different versions too many times it's hard to remember which scenes go together. I think I thought that cause in the chinese ver. she calls him multiple times, instead of just the once. I loved how the jp version made all of their scenes really cute and adorable. To me I love all the different versions equally, but Ren and Yo were by far the cutest and sweetest couple. They win in cuteness factor ahaha, I think this is because Yo and Ren aren't as jaded about life as the other versions, in fact I'd say even their friendship was less sarcastic and more caring (not that that's better then the other versions, it's just different and makes them sweeter) i mean they still teased each other as friends do, but you know what i mean XD Anyway, you can see the difference in charms in some of the iconic lines that are said, like the "but i've never kissed a best friend before" scene, which Ren and Yo thought was hilarious, whereas in the chinese ver. Lufei is a abit more deadpan and doesn't put up with manmans bs haha, so after their confession he tries to kiss her but she tells him "we're in public!" to which he replies "it's not illegal" and she says "but i've never kissed a friend before" and he says "well you're about to" and kisses her lol, whereas in the TW ver. they found it amusing but they were just happy to be together, so I could never choose between the versions because each dynamic has it's own merits. One thing i miss about the original/korean ver. is Ren being a flight attendant LOL (because it just goes with his character so well), also those versions had a way longer "after" part like you said. One thing i think the japanese ver. does best is Ren's song. I find the lyrics so touching and raw and the melody and acoustic sound just perfectly demonstrates a young highschool boy in love. Also in this ver. it makes more sense that he made a song cause he was in a band whereas in the original it was kind of random. Also there was something so impactful about how the song was always on the radio and everyone always talked about it and Yo was always hearing it but Ren never said anything. In a way I think it's like a mirroring of Ren's love, which was always there quietly in the background unnoticed, until Yo finds out in the end and realises it was always there in everything she did.
